I took my truck to caliber per my insurance agency's recommendation. I was told the deductible was not due until work was completed. I showed up for the estimate, and was told I had to pay the deductible before any parts were ordered. I said that I didn't have to pay the deductible and was told again parts would not be ordered if it wasn't paid. When I dropped the truck off for repair, I took a picture of my mileage. When I picked my truck up, I took another picture of the mileage. You leave your vehicle for repairs and someone drives it 11 miles. Parts were already there. I completed a Google review for Caliber Collision at 9701 Midlothian Turnpike back in July. The supposed owner on the review site asked me to the email communitymanager@calibercollision.com to work with me on my problem with my steering wheel being damaged. I checked seven times to make sure that I had the email address correct. They would not respond back to me. I even tried a corporate number and could not contact them. Anything they write on here saying that they want to make things right is a total lie. Do not believe them and do not do business with them. It is a large company that does not care about our community. I would from here on use a local body shop. read more

I never made it here, bc I called in to ask about an estimate and was essentially turned away. I explained that I had a paint chip in my (nearly new) vehicle, gave the person who answered my name and jokingly said that I had left a thermos on top of my car which rolled off and caused a paint chip. I asked The person on the line if they had availability on Saturdays. She replied, we aren't open on Saturdays-no alternative, no questioning whether I cold come in another day...I then asked her the hours and she replied with only the hours-again no option of "hey can you come in on this day" or "here's an opening for you." She continued to say "we have no availability this week anyway." I asked if they do walk-in appts and she said "no, we work by appt only." She then even referred me to other shops in the area. I said thank you and hung up. I formerly worked at a body shop in this exact same role and was truly alarmed by the behavior-ESPECIALLY after having a small accident and damaging my own car, which is an embarrassing situation as it is. This role requires empathy, questions, etc. There was no interest in my business. read more

Actually I'm feeling some type of way about this whole situation. I want to get my car repaired so I'm trying to find a local body shop. Well, I decided on this place only to be told they don't accept my insurance. At least I have insurance I'm pretty sure there's a great deal of individuals out there who don't have insurance but are still driving daily. It's just ridiculous to not accept a certain insurance but whatever. This is NOT the only body shop around. I'll take my business to another company who wants my business and money. read more

I went to caliber after another body shop "repaired" my car after I was t boned. I say "repaired" as it ended up being over a month to get repairs done and when completed I found other issues that weren't addressed. I used my insurance so I asked to use another body shop and I chose Caliber. The location is great and I'm super happy with the repairs process. Also the COVID protocols are followed very well with everyone in masks and social distancing enforced. I dropped off my car and got my rental at the shop so I didn't have to make a separate trip. Once I left I got text messages with a completion date as well as any relavent updates throughout the process. I really liked James my contact person walking me through all the repairs on my car and showing me how they looked when I picked it up. He actually found another issue by the previous body shop and offered to take care of it. I'd definitely take my car back here if needed! But hopefully not! read more

Back in February 2021, someone drove into the front of my car and I went through Caliber Collision - Pocono at 10531 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, VA 23235 to get my car fixed. The damage was to my front bumper and grill and the other drive's insurance, State Farm, recommended the body shop and paid for the repair. Caliber Collision fixed the damage by buffing and painting the bumper and replacing the grill. The female technician who wrote the report and told me about the warranty at this time was very nice. A couple of months later, the stress marks started showing where they painted and the grill started falling off. After calling and setting up an appointment, I took it into Caliber for them to honor their warranty. However, they were incredibly defensive, rude, and aggressive. A male technician and male manager looked at the damage and said that they would never do such a bad repair job so it wasn't their fault. They offered no other explanation or solution. They started to aggressive shake the grill and push the bumper. When I told them to be gentle with my car they told me to leave and then the manager started aggressively walking towards me, getting in my face, and telling me to leave. They were incredible unprofessional and rude. I left and called State Farm and they set up an appointment with another body shop to review Caliber's work and get the fix properly done. The other body shop was as shocked as I was at the poorly done job and fixed the remaining damage by replacing the bumper. State Farm paid for it and said they would investigate Caliber. Unfortunately, this took several months to resolve but I was able to get my car fixed. I will never recommend any Caliber Collision body shops to anyone. Highly recommend. I was in a car accident--not my fault and my dealing with the other person's insurance co. Geico. They wanted me to go to their auto repair shop, but when I took it in, they were unwilling to fix my seat that suddenly had stopped working as well as not even looking to see if there was underbody damage. They told me "I was on my own to get the electronics on the seat repaired through a dealer" and that Geico wouldn't pay for it. I called the Jeep dealer and my service advisor recommended Calibur Collision. I called and they were so helpful. The manager Brian told me to bring it over right away. He diagnosed the seat issue, did a thorough inspection, got me in a rental car. His "can-do" attitude was so refreshing! He made it clear that he works for me--not the insurance company. I've had so much shoddy work through body shops--not here. I shared my experience and then other Facebook friends shared their good stories. Finally!! A auto-body place people love. read more

Terrible communication, no respect for customer's time. I toke my car in for an estimate, then, about 10 days later my insurance contacted them and then CC called me to make an appointment. My appointment was for Tuesday at 8am; I dropped off my car on Monday pm, asked the receptionist if I needed to pay upfront explaining the insurance had already given me the money, I was told that I would pay at pick up, which I was told would be Thursday (unless they found additional issues; since it was just scratches I was pretty confident there was no hidden problem for them to find). I checked once more about the pick up day, they confirmed three days, so, Thursday by end of day. Tuesday at 3:00pm Alex leaves me a message saying since this is going through the insurance he cannot start the work because I need to call the insurance and ask them to send an assignment and CC1 to Caliber Collision. Of course I am crossed, firstly because this is 7 hours after my 'appointment' and secondly because I know the insurance has sent them everything because CC would have not made an appointment till they had all the paperwork from my insurance, plus I told the receptionist the previous day. I call Alex and tell him as much; on Wednesday I call to check if we are still on track for Thursday. He says he thinks so, but he would call me by end of the day to confirm. He did not call Wednesday, he did not call Thursday. On Friday at 8:00 am I called, Alex apologize he did not call me back but he said the car would be ready that day (a day later than when it should have been -no communication from their part). I explain if they need the car for longer that is ok by me, but I just need to know, I live 1/2hr away and need to organize a ride. He again tells me the car would be ready, most likely by 4:00; he tells me he will give me a call once the car is going to the cleaning dpt, likely around 3:00pm, that way it gives me an hour to get organized. At 5:28 I get a call from Dan telling me the car is ready for pick up. Again I am crossed, they call two minutes before they close! Regardless, I am still gracious on the phone and ask to arrange an after hour pick up, back and forth about arrangements for the key, eventually we agree so he then asks for payment. I have to go home to get a card, Dan says they are about to close but they will still be there for quite a while longer so he'll call me back in five minutes. As I am on the phone organizing a ride, I missed their call back, I call them right back, wait for over 10 minutes on the line eventually the call is answered by a national call center. They keep telling me the shop is closed, at this point I have my ride on the way but I am not sure if I can go and pick up my car (I haven't paid, so they may not leave it accessible) or if I should still go because what if the car is parked on their unlocked lot with the key inside! Super stressed because they won't open till Monday now. Luckily Dan calls back, so I tell him how terrible that last half hour was. Had he taken responsibility and apologized I would have accepted it, but he just made excuses, which obviously made things worse. He even told me that Alex is the busiest person and that's most probably why he did not call me. How about the customer's time? To add to the poor experience when I pick up my car they had left a credit card slip receipt but no warranty paperwork or after care instructions. Incredible way to treat a customer. read more

We were very dissatisfied with our experience with Caliber Collision. Through the entire process, Caliber made repeated mistakes in the repair of our car. Not only did the repair take longer than was stated, but we were never notified about the completion date. Upon the 1st pick up of the car, there was noticeable damage on the opposite side of the car where the repairs were completed. After review of the intake pictures, it was discovered that the damage was done while in Caliber's possession. In addition to the damage, the headlight, blinker and blind spot monitoring system were not working correctly. When speaking with Caliber regarding the items not working, they confirmed that no quality check had been completed. Then the blame shifted to us stating that we were rushing them to fix the car, which was not the case. To repair the damage they had caused, as well as correct the headlight, blinker and blind spot monitoring system, our car would need to be returned to them for 1-2 days. After we dropped the car back off for the repairs, we did not hear from Caliber after 2 days, so called and were told that they were not getting along with the Mazda dealership that was completing the repairs on the headlight, blinker and blind spot monitoring system and the dealership had moved our car to the back of the line causing another delay. Upon pick up of the car from the repairs, I asked if a quality check of the vehicle had been completed. The assistant manager confirmed that the crew, as well as he had done a full quality check of the vehicle. At that time, I noticed that there were still scratches on the side of the vehicle they were suppose to repair and the assistant manager tried to assist in having them removed but stated they were "too deep" to get out. When I started the car and checked the headlights, blind spot monitoring and blinker, the blinker was still not working and he had to go get another bulb to replace. After our experience, our insurance company recommended that we take the car to our dealership to have the work completed reviewed. It was found that an alignment was never done on the vehicle and is currently still in the shop. Throughout the entire process, Caliber's customer experience was non-existent and we would never use or recommend Caliber's services to anyone. I would also like to mention that the assistant manager asked us to not communicate this information on their survey or review. read more

Caliber took three weeks to repair minor rear bumper damage. They had my car for seven days before they told me the parts were on back order when I called and asked for a status report. Caliber did not keep me informed and it was very difficult to get in touch with them. Parts were obtained and the painter scratched it and had to redo it. Manager offered a free oil change, state inspection or detail as compensation for poor service which I did not accept. read more

Totally incompetent! Do not bring your vehicle to ANY Caliber Collision. My vehicle was dropped off on August 28, my wife called twice on Sept. 9 to get an update, no returned phone call. After my 3rd call on Sept. 11, I requested to speak to the manager. He told me it was a "simple fix" and that they were waiting on the Geico adjuster. He called me that afternoon to tell me Geico would be out in the morning. No call Friday morning, I get a text from my wife at 2:10, saying the vehicle was totaled. Spoke to the Geico adjuster that Caliber was waiting on, he told me that he had been out twice waiting on them. read more

I dropped my car off last Friday to get my door replaced. Josh told me it would be prepped Monday and be ready for pick up Tuesday or Wednesday. I told him that would be perfect because I needed it back by Wednesday. I touch base with him Monday and he said everything was ready to be painted and should be done Tuesday. Great I said. Tuesday I follow up and he informs me a paint booth went down and it would be done Wednesday(no problem). He promised me this knowing they were down a paint booth. On Wednesday I follow up first thing in the morning(notice the trend here....I'M THE ONE HAVING TO CALL HIM FOR ALL NEWS AND UPDATES!!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE)...and Josh tells me I'm third in line to get painted. fine. I follow up 5 hours later and he tells me the guy is still on the first vehicle and my car wouldn't be done today. This is where I lose all patience with Josh and Caliber. First there are no updates from them and then he lies to me. I call back and ask to speak to the manager. The receptionist asks why I need to speak with the manager and I inform her that I was promised my f*ing car(again...promised KNOWING they were down a booth). She took my number. Then Danny the manager comes next door to my place of business and confronts me in front of my team asking if I cussed at his employees. If you lie to me....I will likely cuss. Then tells me my car will be done when it's done. Who does this??? Very bad experience. Although conveniently located I will never use them or give them referrals again. BE WARE. read more
