These people are the biggest crooks I've ever met in my life. A month ago our neighbor hit our parked car and it did some damage so we brought the car here to be repaired. The car is in mine and my husband's name, btw. BIG mistake. The neighbor's insurance, Progressive, went and did a few inspections and quoted what they'd cover and what they wouldn't and all was well, until Caliber Collision decided to screw us over. Unbeknownst to us, our car was ready a week ago and we were not told. Today my husband was contacted by Progressive and we were told Caliber Collision replaced a completely unnecessary part that was not on the approval list so they weren't going to pay for it and that our car was ready. My husband called Caliber Collision right after that phone call and the receptionist, a woman with brown hair, was a rude witch to my husband saying WE owe them $500 for the part and labor they did replacing said unnecessary part and they will not give us our car back until WE pay it. Today was the last day we were covered for the rental car so we had to get our car back today. We go in and the employee JEREMEY was extremely rude reinforcing that WE owe them money and we are not allowed to take our car without paying the $500. My husband repeatedly asked for JEREMEY's supervisor's contact information and he refused to give it to him saying "my supervisor said we have to charge you so there's no need to call him" and when my husband asked for the supervisor above that one, he refused to give his contact information as well. I decide to step in at that point and say "okay, well what we're going to do now is get the cops involved and let them come down here and handle it" and we walk out to the rental car. My husband then calls the non-emergency number to Oak Ride police department and the dispatcher asks for a call back number so an officer can reach out to my husband. About 10 minutes goes by and while we're waiting for the call, my husband decides to go back in and talk to JEREMEY again because we need our car and what they're doing is absolute BS. IMMEDIATELY after my husband goes back in JEREMEY starts to change his tune and says things like "We did this service because we thought it was necessary and we'll call Progressive back and try to work this out (even though they've "tried" doing that since last Tuesday) and saying we really need this money, etc." My husband stands firm and says this is NOT our responsibility, it's between you and the insurance company and this isn't my fault and you're punishing us for it. YOU made the decision to go against Progressive and fix a part that you knew wasn't going to be covered by them." Right as my husband gets a call back from an officer, JEREMEY says "Okay yeah I see that this isn't your fault, we'll take the loss and give you your car back as long as you (my husband) leaves positive feedback on us." My husband says fine and tells the officer we no longer need assistance and we leave. We will NEVER be coming back what they did was unethical, unprofessional, and criminal. They knew this part replacement was not necessary, they knew insurance wouldn't pay for it, and they did it anyways knowing that if they couldn't get the money from insurance they would try to con it out of us. If they felt this part needed replaced they should've called Progressive to explain the situation and if Progressive still deemed it unnecessary they should've called US and explained the cost would fall on us for this replacement and should've ASKED US if we wanted it replaced or not! We would've said no because we cannot afford to pay $500 for that!! My husband may of agreed to give good feedback, but I never did. I would love the opportunity to speak to a supervisor that wasn't involved in this instance so we can speak further about our experience. read more
