After two minor accidents in less than six months, plus an unrelated power window issue that started before the second accident, I can't say enough good things about James and everyone at Mr. Cool's Collision. From the very first interaction, the whole team made a stressful situation feel manageable. They were warm, responsive, and genuinely easy to work with, and both repairs were finished ahead of schedule. Each time I picked up my car, it looked fantastic - clean, restored, and like nothing had ever happened. What really set them apart, though, was what happened months later. About eight months after my second repair, I was still dealing with the power window problem. Since it had nothing to do with collision work, James could have easily brushed it off and sent me elsewhere. Instead, he took the time to track down the issue and made sure my windows were working again. That kind of follow-through is rare, and it meant a lot. After a bad experience at a chain auto repair shop, this level of honesty, care, and accountability was an enormous relief. If you're a woman who's ever felt dismissed or has been taken advantage of when it comes to repairs, you probably know exactly how much that matters. If you're ever in the unfortunate situation of needing collision repairs, I highly recommend Mr. Cool's Collision.

Ok. I have a transmission issue…read more Brought it in to determine the root-cause. They found an old (not cleared) thermostat problem that I fixed a year ago. It didn't totally close, thus not allowing the Cat o get up to temperature quickly enough. I replaced for $25 and 45 minutes, easy. Check-engine light disappeared. But obviously the code locked in. And also they said I needed a full replacement transmission. Which I don't deny may be required. , sorta. I am 71 years old, done professional car work since 17. The ONLY reason I am not doing this myself is age. But that said, before I would tear down anything I would already know what component is bad. A valve, cam sensor, etc. My symptoms are of a valve-body stuck valve, causing the clutch(s) to not fully engage. Thus I wanted a more concise explanation for why I should give them $5,000 - $6,000 to replace the entire Xmission. I really should have had a talk with the trained mechanic that could go into depth about the detailed reason it is giving me problems. But I got the worker at the register explaining the estimate to me. I have 100% confidence she has ZERO true mechanical knowledge/training past what to say. She should have called the Tech to talk to me. Had that happened I would have set an appointment to have it replaced. But given the weak thermostat ($330) ghost diag, I had zero confidence about the rest of their work. Reminds me of "give a kid a hammer and everything looks like a nail".

Their style is more casual than corporate and that is great for some people and makes others nervous if that's what you're used to, but they're all about fixing anything that is a true mechanical issue or safety hazard, but won't ever push you on anything cosmetic or non-essential, which is great if you're not a millionaire with a car budget to match! They're all much more into doing than talking at this shop, so if I had to give constructive criticism I'd say communicating more about the car's issues/options would make people feel better, but if you have to choose between a mechanic that will talk to you or one who will just fix what's wrong at a very fair/low price, I'll take the latter every single day. :)

It was noticeably flat but i could not find any punctures so i assumed it could be refilled with the air pump machine. Well, the machine would fill my other 3 tires but not the one that was flat. I even had a nice group of people test my pressure and they believed there must be a puncture. I was honestly in a pretty bad situation. Had to be somewhere pretty soon, and couldn't really afford to drive on it and ruin the rims as it was super close to being rim on pavement. The group that checked my gauge mentioned i should try to walk over to Express Auto to see if they could patch it. I walked in, and was immediately greeted by the owner and the friendly workers. I explained I was stuck on the other side of their shop. Without hesitation, he sent me an awesome guy to come look at my car with me. He jacked up my wheel at the air pump and literally carried my wheel back with him to the store. The whole time I was there they never tried to sell me on anything and I could tell they genuinely wanted to help. After only like 10 minutes with no appointment, the man who helped me with my tire walked back over to my car and explained that the tire i had mustve been sealed wrong because it was leaking air. There were no punctures so I wouldnt have been able to figure it out. He said that he tested it and resealed it with some adhesive and made sure it did not continue to deflate. Jacked up the car, and put my tire back on. The whole time I felt like i was a hassle because they did not have to help me at all really. I go back to the store to thank them and see how much it would cost and the owner tells me that I am good he does not want any payment...I couldnt believe it. How friendly and helpful they were, let alone that he wouldnt even charge me? I returned to the store to try and give him at least some cash because it was so helpful and i greatly appreciated everyone there. He refused. He said to give it to some of those who may be in more need. Honestly made my day and reminded me there are still good people in this world. If i ever need anything I am going back there and if i could give 6 stars I would. God Bless! P.S. I never leave reviews but this place is that good!

I wanted to document and share an experience I had recently with the Beaty Chevrolet service…read moredepartment in Knoxville, TN. I had purchased my 2022 Trailblazer from them back in 2022 and had a pleasant buying experience at that time. I've been to the service department many times for oil changes and routine maintenance, and for the most part I've also had good experiences. But recently the check engine light had come on and so I first took it to my regular mechanic to have it diagnosed. He said the code was indicating the water pump was likely going to need to be replaced, and that this was a big job and an expensive job, and he said it's still under the drivetrain warranty. So his recommendation was to bring it back to the Chevy dealer, which is what I did. I made an appointment and dropped the car off and was assigned a service advisor named Kane. I had a pleasant conversation with Kane when I dropped off the car and let him know that I wasn't in a rush to get the car back but I would like him to keep me updated on it. A week later, I had not heard anything and so I texted the number that Kane sent to me to ask for a status. I didn't get a response, so a couple days later I called the number and asked to speak with Kane. I was transferred to his line and left a detailed message on his voice mail including my call back number. I got no call back, so after a week I called again and explained the situation to another advisor. He said he wasn't sure why Kane wasn't responding, but that he'd route me to Kane right away. Unfortunately, that transfer again went to Kane's voicemail, and I left yet another message for him that went unanswered. The next day was now September 16, which was more than 2 weeks since I dropped the car at the dealer. I called the switchboard operator and explained that I am having an issue with an employee named Kane and I needed to speak with his manager. I was put on hold for several minutes, and was surprised when Kane answered the call. I told him who I was and reminded him that I have left a few messages for him regarding my car. He immediately went into a rude, and even belligerent status, and started telling me that he texted me a week earlier to pick up my car (which was not true) and that I needed to get there and pay the 200 dollars and take the car. I told him that I received no phone call and no text from him and asked him what was done to justify the $200 expense. He said that was the diagnostic fee, no issues were found and they turned off the check engine light. I feel it is unacceptable to charge 200 dollars to simply turn off the light and I'm certain this issue will resurface again; most likely after the warranty period expires. Kane then very rudely reiterated for me to pick up my car, pay the bill and then promptly hung up on me. Wow, that is not the type of service I ever want to experience again. Not ever, not from any company. I contemplated refusing to pay that bill, but it's probably not worth 200 dollars to immerse myself into additional unwanted drama. I will never be back to Beaty Chevrolet for any reason. Not to purchase a car, and definitely not for service. The fact that the manager didn't want to hear from me and routed my call back to the service advisor is also unacceptable. If a company has an employee that behaves that way, a leader of the company has to deal with those situations. It's not fun to hear from clients that are unhappy, and it's not fun reprimanding employees that are not meeting the company standards, but it has to be done. I will share this experience with as many review sites that I can.
