I have used Caliber Collision for minor scrapes and dents, but in my 20 year old vehicle, I did a job on it. In a vehicle this old, parts are scarce but they were able to source necessary parts to get me back on the road. I actually added some things, I wanted the cab buffed out and when they called me to let me know my vehicle was ready for pick-up, I was just astonished. The fit and finish was just suburb. It looked like it just came off the showroom floor and for a 20 year old vehicle, that is no easy task. The final bill was right on with the initial estimate. I wasn't disappointed. I booked an appointment online with Caliber Collision in O'Fallon, IL, clearly selecting Geico as my insurance. Their website promotes hail damage repair and free estimates, but when I arrived, the woman at the front desk was rude from the moment I walked in. Instead of offering helpful service or acknowledging the mix-up caused by their own online system, she doubled down with attitude and acted like I was wasting her time. She incorrectly claimed I booked as "self-pay" (I didn't -- that wasn't even an option and even if it was she said they don't deal with that either), then told me they don't work with Geico. Why was my appointment even booked then? I took off work early for this appointment, only to be brushed off and told to try another branch. Absolutely unprofessional and a complete waste of my time. The most horrendous experiance of my life. I dealt with Paul and later on the Gereal Manager Greg Bell. I was in an accident in December in which State Farm used them as an Authorized repair shop. They initially stated my truck repairs would be $6000. They had my truck since ealry december and by time they tried to return it they had pushed the repair cost to $14000. I picked up my truck late April 3 months after my accident. I could instantly tell my truck was not fully repaired and the damages they did fix was horrid work along with lights coming on that were never on prior to my accident. I dropped my truck back on first thing in the morning, so quick my rental car was still in their parking lot. They looked over my truck and did not reach out for weeks at a time. Finally they sent my truck to Carls 4X4 in which i continued reaching out for updates. weeks later Caliber was still telling me there was nothing wrong from the accident and my truck was stuck out there and if i wanted it I had to go get it. I called Carls and they were able to see that the front Differental and Wheel bearing HUB needed replaced due to the accident. This put my truck repairs up to $20,000 which they were able to find the opposite wheel hub was also damaged totalling $21000 in repairs on my 2018 Dodge Ram Big Horn. Finally I get my truck back only to have my parking sensors still not repaired from the accident, exhaust hangers not fit to hold my exhaust causting my exhasut to not hang properly, bumper out of line, Hood out of line amongst other issues. I go in to the Office to talk to Creepy Greg the GM in which i walk in to him trying to wisper to one of the receptionist that was sitting there by her self "IF you need anything at all, let me know" she leans back and replys "what are you talking about?" He repeats himself a second time and she again says "What?" The other ladies in the office walked up and he pops up and say "oh they are here, I was just saying if you guys need anything just let me know" as he walked off. He finally came to me with the paperwork on my truck, We walk out to my truck and the first thing i ask is, "are you guys willing to pay for my truck, You guys nickel and dimed my repairs up to $14,000 let it sit now totalling $21000, you know thats absord right? He replied "NO, so what was your question?" I said well i just worry about that with my attorney later" I said well according to your Policy you guys have a life time warranty on your repairs and my exhaust is out of line falling off of the hangers, So i need that fixed before it causes even more damage. He replied No, we will not do any more work to your truck, in which i replied thats a breach of contract, No worries. This place is absolutly horrible I would not trust them with anything? I use to think this was a great place to take vehicles due to dealing with them years ago. Update: we received a phone all from the manager Jake. He was incredibly apologetic and understanding of the situation. He offered to replace the battery if it fails to hold a charge and promised to speak to his team. We dropped my wife's car off to get painted after some gravel damages. After a while of it being there we were finally able to pick up (insurance company kept delaying and avoiding communication). We arranged to pick it up on June 2 2020. We showed up an hour and half before closing time and the car was still not ready so we had to wait until 1200 the following day. When we showed up at 330pm, the vehicle was still not washed (that's why we couldn't pick it up the prior day) so we had to wait a few minutes for that. We drove off to get some prescriptions filled. When we tried to leave the pharmacy the car was dead. Turns out the battery died from sitting so long and they had to jump it to bring it around to us. They never told us this. Now it's 4pm and 89 degrees outside and we are trying to get a car started. When we called they just said that they were sorry for not telling us. I wanted to speak to a manager and was told he wasn't in and would call me first thing in the morning. It's now 120pm with no phone call. I'm very disappointed at the lack of communication from this company to their customers. They put my wife and I at risk by not telling us the car battery is dead and should be driven a while before turning it off. The only thing that makes this whole situation worse (disclaimer: they didn't know) is that we just spent 4 hours in the ER for a back injury of mine and now I'm out trying to move around under a hood). read more
