I went in prior to my appointment and discussed that I wasn't sure if I should have just placed it to fix the chips or as the replacement. They said they would go the cheapest route for me but would have someone look at it to make sure before they got started. The technician went outside and inspected every single chip and informed me that I was good to go - all chips were filled properly, and nothing had to be done. They canceled the appointment, and I went on my way. No out of pocket expenses incurred. They were extremely polite, took the time to explain the reason why I would think they needed to be replaced, and how he knew the repairs were done properly. I dropped the car off at 9:00 and left my cell phone number. I went to the library and read for a bit, chatted with an elderly woman outside the Lil' Tex restaurant (she was standing outside in the heat and I really just wanted to make sure she was ok), and I had a brunch at the C&H Hawaiian Grill (review to follow). Back to the window tint, this was the same business that had installed my original tint back in 2005 and the window decal has a lifetime warranty. As I dropped the car off (Mazda Miata) the owner told me that the job would take a bit and asked if I had someone coming to pick me up, I told him no worries, I planned to go the library and do some reading, i don't do enough reading for pleasure anyway. At 11:53, while still sitting in the C&H Hawaiian Grill, finishing my refill of root beer I received a call from the tint shop owner informing me that my car was ready. When I went into the office to pay my bill the owner/installer simply said "We're good", apparently citing the lifetime warranty on the original install. I should have taken the keys and just left but for some reason I couldn't, working inside of a cramped Miata for nearly three hours can not be easy, I had been informed of as much during the original install. Anyway, I asked the installer to come up with a reasonable charge, which he did, and that is what I paid. Call me crazy. Good thing is that I left and got another estimate from a neighboring business within minutes. Also, your parking situation is beyond ridiculous. How do you have a full parking lot with only one customer inside? There is no place to turn around, so you have to turn around by backing up onto the busy one way major highway. I'll be sharing my bad five minute experience with everyone I know.
