If I could go back 2 days ago I would change walking into this lazy lying location. I brought my…read moreGMC in for a windshield replacement and they threw a fit that I had polyurethane around the outside of my windshield as a preventative measure to stop wind and water from coming in. The shop informed me that my car would have to go to a body shop to get the windshield replaced and that my cowl since it had glue on it was ruined per them. Now one shops opinion doesn't matter much to me but at the point they reported to my insurance that I had damage on my car it became a much larger issue. After an hour worth of phone calls I got my insurance to let me get a second opinion with Glass America, and in case you are wondering my windshield was replaced today no problem. Through this process I was told my car had body damage to the point they couldn't work on it, then when asked what the damage was they informed that they didn't even look at it. They claim they didn't touch my car yet it was moved from where I had parked it for drop off and if you didn't touch my car then how can you claim it had body damage? Lie after lie at this location. I don't trust the manager, the blonde headed rep that kept insisting "he has done this for a long time" or the receptionist lady that backed these lying men. Not to mention I am waiting on the before photos of the claimed "damage" because after picking my car up the side of my car had sustained damage either by their technician or on their lot. I am leaving this review not for this shop or this company to earn my business back but to help future people avoid this awful careless location.

It is a European luxury brand and having the work done at a dealership would have been astronomical, probably as much as the auto was worth undamaged. I went to Charlie's Collision Repair to ask them to consider fixing the damage. Dave Osborne advised me that owners of this brand preferred to have the dealership make repairs. Parts were very expensive and had to be shipped from St. Louis. He was reluctant to even look at the SUV. I showed him pictures and persuaded him to consider making the repairs. Had the SUV towed to the shop and an agreement was reached . The total was at least 40% less than I expected to pay at the dealership. First, .....the bad news. Dave had warned me, "I hope you're not expecting it back anytime soon." The good news was, .....a wrecked SUV was sitting in the repair shop, not my garage or driveway. It was finished exactly when promised,.... "not anytime soon". I was kept informed on progress and problems until repairs were complete. When I picked it up, Dave, the office manager, and the mechanics escorted me to the finished SUV. They were all that proud of the work they had done. And, it looked perfect. The SUV had been cleaned inside and out. I was advised to take it home for a week or so, make a list of anything I was unhappy with, bring it back and they'd fix everything to my satisfaction. It's been seven weeks and it has not been necessary to return. I was very satisfied with the work performed and convinced the cost was very reasonable. What a great group of people!!

I have not in all the businesses I have worked with ever come across a more honest bunch of folks, in a business that you simply have to rely on the experts to be sure the job is done right. No matter where you are located in the Kansas City area, it is worth the extra miles to take the job to Charlie's.
