I was talking with a friend about wanting to get another helix piercing and she asked me if I was going to any particular place. I told her that I didn't know where but I knew that I wanted to get it done ASAP. I had been putting it off since timing wasn't the best in months past and I knew I wouldn't be able to focus on the recovery of the piercing, but that no longer was going to be an issue. My friend told me to come to Make Me Holey since she had gotten six piercings here and she recommended them to anyone. She told me that if I went, she would come with me and also get another piercing. Another friend overheard and she also decided to come with us. We made an appointment online, easy process and so streamlined. The hardest part was choosing a day that the three of us were available since we wanted to come in together. Right before we came in, we got a link to complete our consents and answer some basic questions. None of us were nervous just excited about getting our piercings done. All three of us were getting piercings done in different locations on our ears. We came in and were greeted with such warmth. Our appointments were scheduled for a Saturday and it was busy! I was up first, I met with the earring specialist and I told her what I was thinking for my piercing location. She asked me questions to figure out what look I was going for in terms of an earring. We selected about 5 earrings that I liked from the display. She held up each piece to my ear and was patient as I was deciding. What I liked was that it wasn't just about choosing what earring one liked best, it was also taking into account each individual ear shape. She did it with me and also with my two friends to do an analysis and making sure that one wasnt going to be disappointed with the outcome. Two people can come in wanting the same ear piercing location and get it done with the same type of earring but the final outcome will look different on each individual. I was debating between three different earrings, then she went over the pricing of each earring. Although the price of the earring was not a factor in my selection, its nice knowing that if you were on a budget, that is something that could be brought up and they can show you earrings within that price range. There was no issues with them trying to upsale you and get you to pourchase the most expensive earring. They have a wide selction, titanium and gold pieces. Once I made my selection, the specialist indicated that the earring was covered under warranty in case something happened to it. Adriana was my piercer, she is an apprentice and as a result the piercing fee was half off. They asked if I was comfortable with her being my piercer, which I totally was. I don't know the exact intricacies of being an apprentice or ultimately a piercer but it seemed like a very rigorous process. Adriana couldn't just do all piercings, she had to spend a lot of time and training to keep advancing. She was so friendly, I went into the room, she cleaned and marked the spot for the helix piercing. We discussed it and she showed marked another spot right below. I asked her questions and decided on the top original spot she had marked. She had me lay down and boom, done and done. Pain is relative to the individual, but it didnt hurt, it was quick. She showed me the mirror and the earring in place and that was that. I went outside of the room to pay, made an appointment in a month to come back to change the post and that was it.....for now....let the healing process begin. I would highly recommend this place. Make an appointment (they also do walk ins) and get that piercing done with true professionals.

My go to piercing shop is Playerz Ink, i wanted to try something different and go to Cali Stylez, the piercer Sabrina is super nice and sweet I'll give her that, however the first time I went to get a piercing done I left with a crooked piercing, I voiced my concerns and she said most likely it's because of swelling and it would straighten up eventually, it did not. My thoughts were that maybe it's just not healed yet, so I decided to go back again for some more piercings, the past 3 times I've been to Sabrina she has gaven me the wrong jewelry for all my piercings causing them to look weird, I don't understand why you can't just put the right jewlery in?? When I looked at her Instagram page, everything posted on her page had the right jewelry, so why were mine any different? My wife came here for a tattoo last month, she asked for a specific tattoo which we had a picture of. Once we showed the tattoo artist he refused to do it claiming it would "take too long" and to come back on another day. So we came back a week later and he says he can do the tattoo but to come back in 2 to 3 hours because they have a lot of appointments after coming back for the 2nd time the owner told me they are closing soon and wont be able to do it in time, so we come back a 3rd and final time and agreed to do the tattoo. They asked for 150$ so I went to the atm and took out the money only for them to ask for MORE money in the MIDDLE of the tattoo. Super unprofessional. when i first went into cali styz i thought Joe was security for the shop, soi got scarred and left! but came back the next day with courage to walk past him and get tattooed by frank. when i first met frank it was two days after my birthday and i wanted a tattoo of Cypress HIll behind on my neck and he told me i didnt have a neck for a tattoo , he ended up convinceing me to put it somewhere else. it wasnt my first tattoo but it was the first time i was givin a sedative and the last thing i remember was frank counting backwards and then woke up in the back hallway feeling akward .......i love my tattoo and have been back two other times and will continue to go back , thanks frank keep up the good work. :) read more

DO NOT COME HERE! I'm from San Mateo California, I came here to get a tattoo because I couldn't find any good local tattoo shops in my area. I stopped by here to get my tattoo. Owner was VERY rude when I showed my picture of the tattoo I wanted he proceeded to rush me saying "there was other people in line" and "then told me to wait in the lobby waiting area where I waited for over 2 hours! After the tattoo I went home and my hand was swollen and red and is now infected. Even after being well care of. Not sure what caused it. I've been getting tattooed my whole entire life and have never experienced anything like this. read more

Went and got a tattoo here a while back. A cover up. Tattoo artist told me come back for a touch up in 2 weeks. I text 2 weeks later he says wait another week, after that I text again. Another tattoo artist tells me hes going to set up an appointment. (2nd time they left me hanging no reply. Its been months and Ive basically gave up atp. Service is horrible. Not to mention you could still see the old tattoo on the so what called "Cover up". Got recommended this place by a family member whos been coming for years. They were so accommodating and nice, Alex greeted me and got my friend and I in to get some flash. I have yet to get a tattoo here in San Jose and I think I found my new spot. My tattoo artist was Angel! He was so unbelievably kind and very supportive throughout the process. Although I've had tattoos before I appreciate how thorough he was and explaining each and every step. I want to come back to him and get work for my boyfriend and I done. The vibe is unmatched! They are so sweet, it's homey, and they make you feel comfortable with them. I can't wait to come back. :)

I didn't want to leave this review because I genuinely feel bad doing so, but I was disappointed…read morewith my experience. I paid a $100 non-refundable deposit for a cover-up design and was repeatedly sent AI-generated artwork despite asking multiple times for original, hand-drawn flowers. I also never felt confident that the design would actually cover my existing tattoo. On the day of my appointment, communication was poor, the appointment started over an hour late, and I ultimately decided not to move forward with the cover-up. I used my deposit toward a smaller tattoo instead. While I'm happy with the tattoo I ended up getting, the lack of communication and reliance on AI-generated designs made this a frustrating experience.
