Cali Saga is a fantastic spot for Indian vegetarian food! The restaurant was very clean, and the outdoor patio was beautifully maintained--perfect for enjoying dinner on a warm summer evening. We ordered the mango lassi, rice, samosas, garlic naan, aloo gobi, and the spicy mushroom masala. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The mushroom masala had a great kick, and the garlic naan was the perfect complement to the meal. The portions for the entrees were generous and easily large enough to share. The service was excellent from start to finish. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and happy to answer questions and make recommendations. Overall, this was a great dining experience, and I'll definitely be back. A solid addition to the Culver-Palms neighborhood! I stopped by Cali Saga for the first time a few weeks ago, after driving past it multiple times while they were getting ready to open. There's a small parking lot out front, in addition to some street parking. Upon arriving, we were immediately greeted by a friendly server and given our pick of indoor and outdoor seating options. This spot specializes in vegetarian Indian cuisine, so keep that in mind if you're looking for meat-forward dishes. I ordered the garlic naan, paneer tikka masala, and mango lassi. The tikka masala was the star of the show - creamy and rich, with a good kick of spice and a generous amount of paneer. Though I enjoyed the garlic naan and mango lassi, those items didn't stand out to me as much. The naan was thin and on the crisper side, whereas I personally prefer naan that is chewy and fluffy. I also felt like the mango lassi was not super mango forward. With that being said, I still had a great dining experience here and would definitely come back. We ended up here on Memorial weekend as an impromptu decision amd I'm glad we did! This is the sister location to Cali Tandoor up the street focusing on vegetarian / vegan food only. There are no meat dishes served here. The seating indoor is limited and if you have a group larger than six, I'd recommend calling ahead so that they can accommodate. We ordered the dal tadka, dal makhni, saag paneer, aloo achari and the paneer kulcha. Everything was very flavorful and the star of the order was the dal tadka of all things. I'm not usually a fan of it, but it honestly might be the best I've ever tasted. They also have a solid selection of Indian beers. Worth a stop if you're in the area, especially if youre looking for a vegetarian forward menu. read more

I absolutely loved this place. The food was delicious. The service was great. And the prices were very reasonable. They give you complementary pampadum start the meal, which is lovely. We had the Aloo Gobi which I loved, as well as the Dhal Tadka which was very solid. The Garlic Naan was delicious. And to start, we had the lentil dumpling appetizer which I've never had before. Food was soon ready, and I took it home. The verdict: -- Vegetarian samosas (4/5): tasty and freshly-fried, but could use more filling inside -- Aloo gobi (5/5): got it medium-spicy, and it was pretty solid! Generous chunks of potato and cauliflower inside -- Baingan bharta (4.5/5): tender eggplant stewed with spices. Got it medium as well, but it was more mild in flavor -- Garlic naan (5/5): fragrant and chewy. FANTASTIC dinner spot that just opened near downtown Culver City. The portions are bigger than we expected and the service was amazing! It is a candle lit restaurant and it was so cozy in there. We ordered the crispy spinach and coconut chicken rice bowl with a mango juice on the side. Downtown culver was missing a good spot with a lot of vegetarian options and a handful of meat options. Service was quick and attentive. The food was delicious and they were able to quickly bring out everything at the same time. Plenty of seating inside and the renovations look good with a clean, modern feel. We sat outside, where there's also plenty of space. They were very accommodating and offered to bring water for our dog without us even mentioning it. Absolutely fantastic! And a great option for vegan! We tried various dishes, and sides as a group, and everybody loved it! A hidden gem in the Palms/West LA/ Culver City area, right near the hospital. The food was outstanding, and our server, Anish, was exceptionally hospitable. Stopped in during their soft opening and this place already feels like a hidden gem in the neighborhood. They're currently still doing some decor updates inside, but can't wait to see what the place look likes once it's ready! I stopped by while doing my laundry next door because the food smelled SO GOOD. I couldn't decide what I wanted but ultimately tried the tomato butter chicken bowl and it was insanely flavorful... rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced without being heavy. Every bite had depth, and the freshness of the toppings balanced the sauce so well. The presentation alone makes you excited to dig in, but the flavor is really the hit here. The staff, Gori and Rajin, were warm and welcoming and genuinely excited to share their food. You can tell they care about what they're building here. If you live nearby, go support! Doordashed this spot recently. We got 2 rice bowls and the Keema Pav. Keema Pav was incredibly savory with a hint of sweetness from the buttery bread. Great combo! We were thoroughly surprised by the serving size of the rice bowls. I got a lamb tomato butter (basically tikka sauce) bowl. It was creamy, flavorful and the lamb was tender. Can definitely see myself stopping by to get a rice bowl for lunch breaks. Will definitely have to try the other menu items in person. Definitely worth! read more

I love that they clearly mark vegan vs vegetarian and mark gluten free all the way.. I loved it, 4 of us ate and each was wowed... we had veggie pakora, channa masala, aloo gobi, dahl and bangan bharta with what could have been simple basmati rice but was the best I've had.. one of us got garlic naan, and another a green salad and pickles as sides and a lassi. but I'm glad to have a tiny bit leftover.. it was all simply divine.. will go again sat outside. they've really tried to do it all right!! read more

I rarely eat out, but this place makes me want to be a regular customer. I was astonished at the pristine environment, ambiance, lovely staff, and excellent food. I was blown away by the quality and quantity of the service and amount of food for the price. What an absolute gem of an Indian Restaurant. I love good Indian food and this place truly exceeded my expectations for taste and spices! The sauces are remarkably tasty and it was just an absolute pleasure discovering a new place that I had no idea existed. I can't recommend this place enough. I think the place is highly under the radar due to its proximity to other more well known places, but this restaurant deserves its flowers.
