Aloo Gobi, Garlic Naan, and tea
    Mike C.

I absolutely loved this place. The food was delicious. The service was great. And the prices were very reasonable. They give you complementary pampadum start the meal, which is lovely. We had the Aloo Gobi which I loved, as well as the Dhal Tadka which was very solid. The Garlic Naan was delicious. And to start, we had the lentil dumpling appetizer which I've never had before. I wish I had known that was a cold dish before ordering it. But overall loved this restaurant!

4-1/2 stars (bump up for lovely service) Ordered online and went to pick it up; it still took an extra 5 minutes for the chef to finish up my order, but the server was really kind in offering me a drink while I waited. Food was soon ready, and I took it home. The verdict: -- Vegetarian samosas (4/5): tasty and freshly-fried, but could use more filling inside -- Aloo gobi (5/5): got it medium-spicy, and it was pretty solid! Generous chunks of potato and cauliflower inside -- Baingan bharta (4.5/5): tender eggplant stewed with spices. Got it medium as well, but it was more mild in flavor -- Garlic naan (5/5): fragrant and chewy. Nothing bad to say! -- Roti (4/5): a bit more wheat-y than expected, but not bad Cali Saga is a promising new Indian restaurant close by; I'd be happy to try more from them!

We ordered Chana Masala, Dal Mahkni, Garlic Naan, Basmati Rice and Papadum. Everything was great! The patio is comfortable and the service was delightful. They really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and have a great meal. Love how gluten free friendly this spot was and always appreciate more vegetarian and vegan options in Palms. We will be back!

Service was awesome, everyone who helped us was extremely helpful. Food is so tastey and delicious. My fave was the chai and the garlic naan. Def recommend getting the chai, one of the best I've ever had. Inside is clean and nice and bright from all of the windows. Super cute place. Will be coming back!

Delicious! Service was so good, and the food felt lighter since it was vegan/vegetarian! Would definitely come back

Incredible curry. I love spicy food and the medium was perfect. This is a beautiful restaurant, very friendly service and delicious food! Great portion sizes I'm excited I'll have some leftovers. I also was able to use their WiFi for some work and they were kind about me asking. Great experience for my first time here and I will definitely be back and telling friends about Cali Saga :-)

FANTASTIC dinner spot that just opened near downtown Culver City. The portions are bigger than we expected and the service was amazing! It is a candle lit restaurant and it was so cozy in there. We ordered the crispy spinach and coconut chicken rice bowl with a mango juice on the side. Downtown culver was missing a good spot with a lot of vegetarian options and a handful of meat options. Will definitely be back!! Parking was not bad at all there is a little parking lot that was not busy and street parking on Venice and in neighborhood. There is some outdoor seating.

NOTE: This place has recently changed to a vegan/vegetarian Indian format so disregard the fusion menu that's on Yelp With that being said, we enjoyed our dinner here! Service was quick and attentive. The food was delicious and they were able to quickly bring out everything at the same time. Plenty of seating inside and the renovations look good with a clean, modern feel. We sat outside, where there's also plenty of space. They were very accommodating and offered to bring water for our dog without us even mentioning it. We ordered the Gobi Manchurian, Saag Paneer, Aloo Gobi, and Cheese Paneer Kulcha, all of which were well-prepared and presented with a modern twist. Overall, we had a great experience here and hope this place sticks around!

Lamb rice bowl with coco masala sauce. Good portion. Good price. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

Tried the lamb burger this week. If you like lamb it's very tasty. Raw red onion and arugula. I assume the sauce is tzatziki. I got some hot sauce on the side. Really set it off for me. Looking forward to trying more

Stopped in during their soft opening and this place already feels like a hidden gem in the neighborhood. They're currently still doing some decor updates inside, but can't wait to see what the place look likes once it's ready! I stopped by while doing my laundry next door because the food smelled SO GOOD. I couldn't decide what I wanted but ultimately tried the tomato butter chicken bowl and it was insanely flavorful... rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced without being heavy. Every bite had depth, and the freshness of the toppings balanced the sauce so well. The presentation alone makes you excited to dig in, but the flavor is really the hit here. The staff, Gori and Rajin, were warm and welcoming and genuinely excited to share their food. You can tell they care about what they're building here. If you live nearby, go support! We're lucky to have a spot like this pop up locally. Definitely coming back to try more of the menu.

While I am not at all vegan, it can be a fantastic change of pace when trying a cuisine that is not at all my regular routine. Happily, Variable has tons of choices, and we loved what we got. I was drawn towards the 'N Seoul Bowl' (Korean spicy plant based pork, house marinated Kimchi, organic edamame, steamed organic spinach, carrot, steamed broccoli, onion , organic shiitake, topped with green onion and sesame seeds and side organic quinoa). So good, a bit spicy, and so many flavors on the plate it was impossible to not only love it, but I could not finish it, either. That goes from all their dishes. They are big, and in our experience, it came out piping hot soon after ordering it. My companion tried the 'Indian Tikka Masala' (homemade Indian curry, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, yellow squash, potatoes, cabbage, chickpea, micro green, Served with blend wild Jasmin rice and Indian Flat Bread). Tastes so fresh, hearty, with just enough of a kick to it. I look forward to trying some of their other dishes, too. The burger that the table near us ordered looked fantastic. I gotta think that everything here is pretty dang great.

If you served this to a non-vegan, they might have a hard time believing it was actually cauliflower. It was absolutely delicious, and the texture was phenomenal. We also ordered a side of fries, which unfortunately fell a little flat. They were undercooked and lacked seasoning, so they didn't leave much of an impression. For my entrée, I had the Pepperoni Pizza. Overall, I enjoyed it, but the biggest drawback was that it was very salty. If they toned that down a bit, it would have been a winner. My husband ordered the Shrimp Scampi. The vegan shrimp was impressive from a texture standpoint--it was tender and even had that familiar "snap" you get from real shrimp--but it wasn't quite for me. The pasta itself was a bit underwhelming and could have used more flavor. Overall, I'd absolutely give Julie Goes Green another shot, and I would 100% order the Buffalo Cauliflower again. Jasmine sounded unique since it's a Muslim Myanmar restaurant and there were dishes I've never seen before, and also others with Indian and Chinese influences. We actually went for ice cream afterwards to congratulate ourselves on getting through it. Jasmine has a lovely shaded patio. You place your order at the counter with a guy who's really nice. There are only two menus and the images are faded and extremely hard to read. The best dishes (but still not great) Potato samosas - nothing special Keema paratha - This bread, filled with ground chicken, was fine but not my kind of thing. Plain naan - unusual in that it was flakier than usual. Pan Thay Kwak Swe - thick wheat noodles with chicken drumsticks. This wasn't really anything special. Avoid Tea Leaf Salad. I've had lots of tea leaf salads but never any that I didn't want to eat any more of. The flavor was too pickled. It was also spicier than usual. (I don't mind spice but didn't love the flavor.) Pae Late (J's Special). This dish consists of thin lentil fried dough in broth with chicken. Unfortunately the dough was totally soggy which ruined this dish. I didn't like the flavor of the broth either. No one wanted more of this dish, nor did anyone want to take it home. It would be much better if the fried stuff was served on the side for the customer to add like when I have samosa soup.
