We stopped by Cali-ritos for a quick bite and ended up trying Birria Tacos, Chicken Quesadilla and Street Corn (not pictured). Everything was made to perfection! The meat was tender and juicy, and the portions were very generous (seriously, they put a lot of guac in my Quesadilla). What really stood out to us was that they let you customize your order to fit your preferences- a huge plus in my book. We visited during lunch hours and the service was quick. Got takeout for dinner recently. Unfortunately it is completely overpriced and the food was not that great. The service is good, lots of places to park and the restaurant was clean. The steak is thick, chewy and flavorless. The "nachos" are just a couple chips with toppings thrown on it.... they don't even melt the cheese in an oven which I thought was so weird. The bill was $55 for two quesadillas and nachos, absolutely not worth it. I would not recommend this place. read more

Cali-rito continues to be a solid option. I haven't visited this restaurant in awhile but decided to visit recently. This time we placed the order online--their online system isn't fancy, but it definitely does the job. They processed the order very quickly. We did takeout here and I'm glad before picking up, the person working also checked over our order before I headed out. I tried something new here trying the quesa birria which is literally a quesadilla loaded with birria meat that comes with a side of consome. They definitely load up the meats if you're into that. Quesa birria was very flavorful where they also added pickled onion in it. Really gave it a burst of additional tangy flavor. Missing jalapeños imo so I'll request that next time, It was a bit greasy but majority of the birria I've had seem to all be. As a native SoCal girl I needed my fix of good Mexican food. Staff was very welcoming, it seemed like everyone spoke Spanish and more importantly they were fast. Tacos were moist and well seasoned, guacamole also had good flavor (could use more pepper but I like to add my own). Street corn was very generous with cheese/ cilantro; a little dry but staff was nice enough to give me a side of cream with it. This place is my new hidden gem. Not so hidden, but they are a little under the radar. It's actually easy to get in and out of the parking lot. They make everything from scratch. I would recommend the guacamole and the barbacoa in any dish. Nice people! read more

We ordered from this place as "lunch" just before heading to work for a night shift. I suppose the money for this place is in their burritos but in my line of work, it's probably best to stick with what can be consumed with a fork so I ordered one of their build your own bowls with veggies, beans, corn, and lettuce. GF is more adventurous than I and ordered a veggie quesadilla. We both added an order of their "street corn in a cup" because I'd take anything in a cup tbh. I despise onions and even though no onions were mentioned in the description and I did not select any onions in the options, I know these Mexican places can be sneaky with their onions so I played it safe and requested "No onions please!". We ordered delivery with ubereats and everything arrived as expected. When it came time for me to pack my lunch bag, I didn't even have to open the lid to be hit, like a brick in the face, with that repugnant onion smell. Le sigh. Time was of the essence so I packed my shit and went on my way to work. I sneak my lunch bag in the lounge fridge when I first arrive to save time and bring it up to the office later. When it was time to bring it upstairs a few hours later, someone had taken the liberty of zippering my lunch bag closed, probably because they were so fucking disgusted by the onion smell. I didn't blame them, and instantly felt guilty for subjecting others at my workplace to that putrid odor. When it was finally time for me to chow down many hours later, I was thankful to have an n95 on as I lifted the lid off the container. The thing as absolutely loaded with onions, both big boys and small, difficult-to-avoid onion strings. Good thing I requested no onions? If that was not possible, I would have hoped to receive at least a phone call. I mean, what if I had a fatal onion allergy? RIP. To make matters worse, and this could be because it was consumed as leftovers, there was a ton of liquid in the bowl. I didn't realize I was ordering soup. In the fridge, said liquid had congealed and actually leaked out of the container into my lunch bag which subsequently required a date with the washing machine. The whole thing, as you probably have guessed, was not a good experience. I will say, they absolutely loaded this thing with fucking beans which I did enjoy, when I was able to wade through all of the onions. I will also admit that despite the congealed goop and onions, it did not taste bad and was somewhat enjoyable but this needs to be taken with a grain of salt as it was one of the first meals I had in probably almost 20 hours and hunger is the best flavoring agent, imo. Needless to say I think I will stick with places that respect requests from now on. read more

Definitely give this place a try! Great deal and for me two solid days worth of food. If I could rate the Town of Northborough overall (police, downtown, leadership, businesses, restaurants, takeout) I would give it a half star. Anyone who is actually a resident knows this to be true. The local cops collectively share one braincell and literally have blood of a resident's son on their hands, downtown planning or lack thereof speaks for itself and Romaine's (infamously terrible remodel aside) is flat out boring and hasn't been interesting in decades. That all said, I finally found something nice to say about Northborough! Cali-Ritos! Their food is fresh and tastes great! Totally blown away by the Birria Tacos. They certainly deserve to have a line out the door and I hope they stick around for the remainder of my stay in the area. Fingers crossed! read more

Some of our favorite Mexican food in the area. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful, and they have plenty of online ordering options to "tune" your burrito (or whatever you want) to your liking. They're also quick! We haven't been inside this location, only the new one in Northborough, but both locations are delicious. read more

Second time leaving a review, just thought i should. I come here not quite regularly but i love their birria tacos. I've had birria in other places but this is definetly my favorite. It's very well seasoned and if you're going to dine in it's even better, the shells are crunchy and it's served really hot, the cheese is melted and it's just really delicious. The Ladies are very friendly and hard working, and though it's small you feel almost at home, you get to eat quietly without getting disturbed. read more

The food was edible, but not good. My bland tacos were soggy, dripping in pinto bean water. Shells stuck to the side and fell apart. Their idea of Mexican street corn is canned corn served in a brine of its juices, with a teaspoon of spices and cheese. Very bland. You can taste old, stale oil on the chips. Queso is decent. I've had more flavorful food from Chipotle. I don't know how this place has over 4 stars, would not come back again. La comida era comestible, pero no buena. This place ROCKS! You have to check it out. I've been 3 times already and every time the food is amazing. They are not stingy with their meats and PACKED my quesadilla last time I was there! Cali-Ritos is an incredible little hideaway on Belmont Street in Worcester. From the moment you see the ingredients (which are wonderfully fresh) - until the moment they wrap your massive burrito- You will fall instantaneously in love with them We' ordered their 'Street Corn,' which was phenomenal. We just couldn't get enough of it. However, we also ordered chips and queso - just magnificent!!!! Lastly...To save the dessert for a later time, we ended up ordering some churros which were so fresh and delicious! Their prices are excellent (especially considering how mammoth the burritos are), and the food is exceptionally fresh. You definitely have to make a stop to Cali-Ritos! read more

First time I had the birria tacos: the sauce that comes with them was pretty tasteless, as well as the tacos themselves. Second time I had the pupusas and again I have had them much better at other places. Maybe they just need to get their kinks worked out, I don't know. The staff is super friendly and that's a plus. Definitely the best taco spot, the burritos are super huge and could feed my myself and my wife. everything was fresh. Meats are seasoned just right, I love the chicken tacos., so much better than anyone else's tacos period., to get a taco of similar quality I had to drive all the way into Somerville so I'm happy this spot is open. Take the negative review with a grain of salt since you can't give a fair review of something that's been sitting in your fridge for 4 hours. Lol . Eat your order fresh then give a proper review. Crispy tacos dripping with meat juices, plenty of cheese and tender slow cooked beef with cilantro and onions. Yeah It was mighty tasty. They have a lot of the fillings laid out on the counter so you can see them, like Moe's. Ordered a burrito and some churros to go. Real friendly proprietors, parking lot is handy.
