My best friend and i wanted to go get our nails done together. While there, the nail tech (not the owner Henry) got onto me about trying to talk to my friend. I showed him the reference photo of what I was wanting, and this is what I ended up with. A couple walked in for 2 Pedis and asked how long the wait would be and he said "I can get you guys now." Well I will start by saying that if I could give a negative rating, I would. I took my granddaughter in with me for a pedicure, this was the first time she has ever had one done. She did not like it, and this is on me, however all they were able to complete was her feet in the water for a few minutes, used the nail brush to scrub down her toes and polish. I was in the chair for maybe 30 minutes, paid an extra $10.00 for the Callus removal, which still have a callus. When I have a pedicure I am used to getting an hour of pampering, massage and relaxation. I go to pay and they had the audacity to charge me $30 for my granddaughter, so $72.00 for less than 30 minutes of service, damn I'm in the wrong business! I wish I had looked Cali Nails up before I went. It was a horrible experience. The lady running the salon was really wound tightly. She actually took my phone when I was talking to my daughter by speaker. She ordered me to go to another chair. She told me I could keep talking, but she made it really uncomfortable, so I had to hang up on my daughter! She kept ordering me around, not nice at all. She also kept getting up and down and trying to multitask. It didn't work well for her. I said I wanted the nail tech next to me to work on my nails, so I switched thinking it would be a better experience. He talked the whole time trying to sell me a water filtration system. He did a crappy job on my nails too. Left polish allover my hands, left a bubble in one nail and left nails that should have been filed off. I have been coming here since I've been in Kansas the last 5+ years and even after I have tried other nail salons around I never leave here unhappy with my nails or pedicure. If they are busy they will have you sign in and put down your number while you walk around the mall, once they have an open spot they call you. I just walked in to get a gel polish removal. Not only did the technician cut my nails painfully short after soaking my nails for way too long, they ended up adding an additional $5 to my bill and claimed that's how I tipped the technician. I wouldn't tip $6 on a $5 service and when I called to get refunded they gave me the run around and have not refunded my money. So disappointing. read more

Literally the worst pedicure I've ever had. First the man who started was one of the rudest human beings I have ever interacted with, snapping his fingers at the client before me telling her he needed payment now. He turned my water on, it was EXTREMELY hot, I let him know, then he turned it on ice cold. I let him know again, he acted as though it was a big interference. While getting the pedicure, when he was done with one foot, slapped my leg in very unprofessional way. My fiancé even commented on it. This is easily the worst mani-pedi I have ever recieved. The only thing that could have possibly made this experience worse would be an infection. I give them 1 star for having nail polish, which, by the way, does not include cuticle softener and remover, base coat or even warm water to soak your nails in. I came home with nail polish on on my toes (not just the nails) and two hands full of hangnails, crooked, barely filed nails and a really bad attitude. Save your time, money and sanity and stay away. I know they were busy but short cutting on services and pushing people through is bad business. If you decide to ignore this review please try and kill the flies while you are there. SIGH. OK, Manhattan, someone out there needs to open a decent nail salon. Cali Nails does not have it. Now I've been in search of a clean space where I feel confident that my feet and hands are going to be treated with disinfected materials and I am not going to contract anything from the basin tubs. I decided to give ol' Cali Nails one last go and really see how they were doing things there. I went for a basic pedicure, which is $25. This is a fair price, as far as I'm concerned, but then again, you get what you pay for. The salon reeks of artificial nails and is not well ventilated. From what I saw from my vantage point in the chair, I did not see one person put their used tools in the usual vat of disinfectant for the next use, in fact, I saw one girl clean them in the sink, presumably with soap? In fairness, I was a bit distracted trying to remind my guy that I could handle firm pressure in the massage portion, which he kept forgetting and rushed through. (Is there anything more frustrating? That's a big part of why we go, right?) Anyhow, my polish was a bit sloppy, but this could have simply been this gentleman's doing, not the salon's. All in all I probably wont go back, and I am still struggling to find a place here that will do my nails in a clean environment and for a fair price. The search continues... read more

The lady who did my pedicure cut my toenails so short I now have an ingrown nail. I will have to go to the doctor's office for it to be taken care of. The customer service there was awful and the lady who did my nails was downright rude. They rushed so much on my manicure the shellack was bubbly and the paint on my French tips was crooked. They did not clean any of the tools they used. I saw the ladies passing around tools to use on different customers without any sort of disinfectant process or even running them under clean water. I will never go to this place again. They don't know anything about hospitality or customer service. I paid them $52.00 for a pedicure and full set and I left with polish slopped on my toes that were clipped more than "just a little" and odd shaped finger nails. I am very unhappy. It was not busy at all and the older man ( I believe the owner) wasn't even paying attention and kept over filing my nails. Not to mention when you try to start up a conversation, so you both aren't just sitting there, they give you like a "yea yea" response. If you want to get a nasty fungal Nail infection, take toxic medication, and possibly lose your nails and take a year to heal! This is the place for you! I went there to get a mani and pedi before I went on a cruise. The polish on my nails just congealed and looked gross, my toenails had some darkened spots on them when I took the polish off 2 weeks later. 2 days into my cruise I went to the spa on the boat and had that mess taken off and got a new mani. I ended up having to see a Podiatrist, get prescriptions for the infection, and wait a year for the nails to completely grow out! I was in a frantic to get my nails done at the last minute for a wedding and everywhere I went was booked or long, long wait times and I was desperate.. One of the salon owners even snapped at me for not making an appt if I knew I was going to a wedding..so I left and I decided to try Cali Nails and they had a ton of people as well but the owner assured me he would be able to take care of me and I thought to myself with all these people infront of me, my nails would probably come out like crap if he were to rush everyone thru. But, I gave it a chance since I didn't have a choice and waited. It was but only 10 minute wait and they did my mani and pedi in great time for me to get to the wedding in time and my nails looked beautiful.. they came to my rescue! Thought I would treat myself to a mani- pedi while waiting for my car to be serviced. I made an appointment and was the first customer when they opened at 10 am. The attendanr which I beleive is the owner, an older female was so rude without any concern for customer service. I am quiet and do not say much and let them do their job. This woman acted like she was doing me a favor, so rude about where to put my feet and when and it is common knowledge. Trying to get into the chair and then out and at that time said rudely "move the arm rest". Very quickly doing my nails and said to go to the dryers and said "don't touch anything because I do not have time to fix it"! Did not do a good job and so rude it was actualldy funny.
