Okay, so where should I start? I was scrolling TikTok and stumbled across this absolutely fire taco spot in the States (or USA for those who have no clue what I'm talking about). Now because I am currently away from the village, touring Canada to see what type of unique recipes and spices I can bring back to the foodies in a classified location somewhere on this planet. I decided to see what kind of tacos they had over here and boy was I in for a surprise. Now mind you have had some tacos in Ontario, Canada before and they were alright but this place Man oh Man were they (as the Torontonians would say) "SLAPPERS". Below you will find my ratings that lead to the overall 7.6/10. Again this rating overall is based heavily on the ground beef tacos and not so much the sides service +Now I ordered on Uber so there isn't much to say but I will say good service considering the food was packed neatly and they gave me the side of sauce that I requested. Ambiance I ordered online so I couldn't say. Ground beef tacos (comes with 3) $13.65 8/10 +Really juicy beef +size of taco + Soft taco shell +Pairs well with their signature Cali sauce +lime for a bit more tang +Hot sauce is HOT!! +Many free topping options -Though there were a lot of topping options, there wasn't much of it on the taco, It was mainly delicious meat. Recommendation - A good balance between meat and other toppings would drive this up to an 8.5!!! French Fries (12oz) $4.95 3/10 -I didn't like them all that much, needed some more salt and it was a bit too, let's say potatoie (grainy). Chips and Salsa $5.95 4/10 +seasoned -Nothing special just tasted like a seasoned tortilla (+)(-) Maybe could have tasted better if I ordered the nachos with ground beef!!! My total on Uber came up to CAD 40.23 for Ground beef tacos (x2), French Fries (12oz) (x1), and Chips and Salsa (x1) (which with the Uber promotion was actually free, so let's not include it in the price). But I will say I'm not upset with the price of the tacos, I believe they are more than fair in today's market. Again 7.6/10 and would try again. back to the hiddenfoodvillage I go, Piece. ps It looked so good I dug right in and forgot to take a photo, but I will next time !!!! here's an image of their location

    Quesadilla with sauces on side

Let's say 3.5. It's been awhile since I've had "mexican" fast food and was really craving a quesadilla this particular night, I decided to give Cali a go. Same concept as Chipotle, except I don't think Chipotle has quesadillas. I got mine on whole wheat with grilled chicken, cheese, tomatoes, I think I got lettuce? and some cilantro. I also paid extra for the guac and got sour cream and their Cali sauce on the side. I think going with the grilled chicken was a mistake or maybe the grilled chicken wasn't that great. Besides that, I think my quesadilla was A-OK. The chicken didn't seem very grilled. It seemed more boiled, if anything. But I did see it was put on a grill. *shrug The different sauces is what did it for me. The guac was good and the cali sauce was different and had a little spice to it. I did enjoy the first 3 pieces but when I got to the fourth, I was sick of the taste lol. They do pack the quesadilla with your meat choice and topping so that's good. I think next time I might try the nachos and defs not getting the grilled chicken anymore. Probably will try the ground beef. The price point isn't bad either. Pretty much everything is $10 +tax.

    Grilled Chicken Nachos

The Messier, The Merrier That's how I like my Grilled Chicken and Nachos bowl. My hunt for the authentic Mexican food led me to the @calimexicangrill paradise. Both, Grilled Chicken and the Cali Nachos were so humongous that it's enough to sort your lunch scenes. Just to give you a quick tour, It was topped with the goodness of Grilled Chicken, Fajita Veggies, Pinto Beans, Pico De Gallo, Coleslaw, Cali Corn, Guacamole and their homemade Cali Sauce. Yet another great place to explore for all the Mexican foodies in Toronto and GTA. 148 West Dr, Brampton Smack-Ah-Meter! - 4/5

Man with the poor attitude in back.

Poor Customer Service, the man cooking is always in a bad mood, and honestly just disrespectful. They have also started to get really stingy with toppings. The sad part is the food is good, but no longer worth the poor service and attitude.

    Cali fries loaded with steak!

I recently tried three items from here. I love fish tacos so I usually always get them if it's an option. These were good and really loaded. You get three with tortilla chips as well. The fish was really crispy and delicious. The Cali fries were so loaded you can't even see them under the steak. I loved all the topping options and the flavours were really great. The chicken quesadilla was well done lots of cheese and chicken and cooked just right! Location is super clean and very helpful staff.

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, vibrant, welcoming , colorful décor, lively music, and the comforting aroma of fresh tortillas. The food is the real highlight. The tacos were packed with flavor, the meat perfectly seasoned and tender, and the salsa had just the right balance of heat and freshness. You can tell everything is made fresh, from the guacamole to the house-made sauces. The portions were generous without sacrificing quality. Service was friendly, with staff happy to explain dishes and offer recommendations. It felt less like dining out and more like being invited over for a home-cooked meal. If you appreciate bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and authentic recipes, this restaurant absolutely delivers. I'll definitely be back.

Topping comes on the side and you build your own. Also comes with grilled onions and jalapeño. In my opinion I prefer the tacos over the birria because the beef in the birria wasn't as tender as the suadero taco. Chips are on the house. Table has three types of hot sauce/salsa. They also have halal options. Spacious and free parking on site. Service was quick and friendly as well

The ambiance is nice there's music and the seating arrangement is well balanced for small groups larger groups and bar seating as well. The food was beyond delicious. I was satisfied with all the dishes we ordered. The enfrijoladas was a great dish super filling and the flavours were well balanced the hot sauce was a nice addition very flavourful but a nice kick of spice. The Flautas were a bit crispy in my opinion I would as for them a little less well done next time but it was still very good I'd recommend getting a side of refied beans to dip with it. We got a side of grilled jalapeños and they were soo good a nice flavour profile not to spicy. I would definitely be back 9/10

We were the only table there, and then another table came and sat inside with two gentlemen that seemed to be getting regular service, but not us. My husband ordered water twice. We never got any water. The appetizers were OK but nothing to write home to Mom about and the service was so bad that we decided to not eat dinner there. We also asked for the Bill. She went away for about 10 or 15 minutes and then came back and there was still no bill. Margaritas were small and we're not tasty at all and not very strong. Spent $60 and left a four dollar tip which was more than they deserved. Will not be back.

When I walked-in, there was a line-up of customers waiting to be served at the ordering counter. I took some time to look at the menu while I was waiting in the line. The line went quickly, which was great, and before I knew it, I was at the front of the line. Upon reaching the front of the line, I was greeted by a kind young woman, whom asked what I would like. I settled on two tacos; one with ground beef, and the other with grilled chicken. I was then given a number plaque, and asked to find a table in order to wait for the food. I waited about ten minutes, then was brought the food directly to my table, which I thought was great. When I noticed the two tacos on my dish, I was impressed with how full they were. There was also additional dipping sauce that came with my meal, along with two bottles of sauces that the server gave to me when he dropped off my food items. When I bit into the tacos, I was blown away at how delicious they were! The ground beef and grilled chicken were cooked to perfection, juicy and appetizing. I loved how full the tacos were, as there was plenty to munch on, which filled me up quite quickly. Along with the hip-happening Spanish music playing on the speaker, and the Mexican-themed decor on the walls, this restaurant truly embodied authentic Mexican cuisine. Complete with excellent service, this experience was something to remember. I will definitely be back!

We decided to start with the Fries Supreme, which have obviously been modeled after Taco Bell's iconic dish. And yeah, they definitely reminded me of that concoction. The fries could've been fresher and hotter but otherwise I quite enjoyed this messy plate. For the main, I went with a couple of tacos: the Chorizo and the Pulled Pork. The latter I found especially enjoyable, as the sauce the pork had been cooked in was delicious. (It was large chunks of pork, though, so I'm not quite sure it qualifies as pulled pork.) The many hot sauces available, plus the two sauces brought with the tacos, really elevated the whole thing, but I really enjoyed the creamy, cilantro-forward sauce included on the plate. Contigo is a cool little place. I'm sure I'll be returning.

Upon entering this restaurant, we were kindly greeted by the server at the front. We were then brought to a table on the upper level near the window which was near the railing therefore, was a tad tight. The music was lively however, not too loud. As well, the décor was set just right for a Mexican restaurant, with many decorations relating to the Day Of The Dead, which is a Mexican holiday. For my meal, I had settled on the pork carnitas without any onion or cilantro, while my daughter had the french fries, and my mother had the beef picadillo. I found that the wraps for the pork carnitas weren't too fresh however, the pork was a good amount, and tasted well-prepared. I would have liked to have some sort of a sauce or topping to go with the pork carnitas however, I only had the side order of diced avocado which was given, along with some Mexican inspired rice. Overall, the food was good however, it wasn't as good as I would have hoped. The prices were a tad high for what we had gotten however, I do respect that this is a family-owned business, and prices are high at every restaurant these days. The service was definitely great, with the server coming to check in on us as we dined, and filling up our water jug from time-to-time. I may come back here to try another item, as the food is definitely authentic, and well-prepared.
