I love this place! Dr Hogan and her staff are the best and I hope wouldn't trust my animals with anyone else. We have 3 cats and 2 dogs and they do so well with each of them! Our most recent addition was a Siamese we found as a stray and they have been so kind and helpful in everything we need to do and how to get him up to date. They don't push anything that you don't need and that's something that is hard to find. read more

Took our pup here. We got put into a room after waiting 10 minutes in the lobby, this was reasonable. We got put into a room where we waited OVER AN HOUR. One of the front desk ladies came in and was surprised to see us in there then told us she forgot we were in there. Waited another 30 min for a tech to come in, very rushed. Doctor came in and I feel like she barely looked at our pup. read more

All three of our animals have gotten great care here. Amber the cat is now 12 and has been seeing this clinic 5 years now. WE have gotten excellent care and have never waited over 15 minutes to be seen. Wow better then some human physicians. Our dogs also have gotten great care and speedy and we consider excellent advice. I am so sorry that a few people have had bad experiences at the clinic. Ours has been great!! read more

just filed a complaint with the better business bureau for excessive cost and incompetence. They will take your money and not fix your pets problems. They act they don't know what to do! read more

About 5 years ago this clinic was ok and did a fair job on treating animals and had fair rates. But after I took a lot of animals here I noticed they seemed to be short on Vet Techs and seemed to always be in a rush and the rates stating increasing drastically. My last experience was the first week of January 2024 when me and my wife took her service dog to be treated because he was having a hard time climbing on the couch and up the front stairs when we took him outside to do his business. I took him on a Friday morning as a walk in after I had to plead with them to work him in. Keep in mind I have taken a lot of animals to this vet over the years and was definitely a patient and existing customer. I had them check him and they said he was ok, they were not sure after many test and x-rays. I told the vet he was in a lot of pain and she said hound dogs were drama queens and always over dramatized. They sent him home with an anti inflammatory and some pain medicine. He was still have a hard time getting around all day Saturday, that night he got worse about lying around and not getting up. We got up Sunday morning to take him to the animal hospital in Rome, but before we could get him up to get in the car he passed away. How do you go from him being a drama queen and he will be ok on Friday to dying on Sunday morning and charged me over 800.00 dollars. I would never take my animals to her unless you don't care about your animal. read more

The staff was great with my two cats and very friendly over the phone and in person. My cats were both neutered and had no problems recovering. I also got one of my cats specially groomed and they helped with that as well. My cat was so nervous in his pet carrier that he peed in it and they were so nice, they even cleaned it out before returning my kitty to me. I cannot complain at all about this place! I absolutely would not recommend this vet!!! I did not have a good experience with the vet or her vet tech as they are both very rude. First of all, I was there a total of 2 hours sitting on hard concrete benches. I called and requested an appointment for a vet check with first round of vaccines for my puppies. The vet tech gave me a piece of paper with several charges but I didn't look it over thoroughly which was my mistake. I just assumed that I was the puppies would get their vaccines and the vet would examine them like most vets do especially for $224. This is what I requested when I called to make the appointment so I was prepared to pay for just the vaccines and an exam. The tech came and got the puppies and took them back in the back to give them the injections instead of giving them in the exam room in front of me so I could see that each puppy was vaccinated. She brought the puppies back and said "okay, you can go now". I questioned why they weren't even vet checked and she lied and told me the vet looked them over in the back. I requested to see a vet which is the reason why I brought them in the first place. It was an extra $150 charge on top of paying $224 for the vaccines. The vet came in and was very rude and took the techs word over mine about lying to me about them getting checked by her in the back. She rushed through their exams and even stated that I could go elsewhere if I wanted to. After she was done she just walked out and I waited in the room waiting for someone to let me know they had taken my paperwork to the front desk and no one came. Not professional at all in my opinion. I left in tears and have never had such a terrible experience. I have never been to a vet that will not see a puppy on their first exam. If you do take you're animals here make sure to look over the fee sheet and know what you're paying for because there were a lot of extra charges including extra credit/debit card fees and disposable waste charges. I know that these charges will need to be paid by someone but if she's going to charge the customer for them they should all be included in the cost of an exam. I will not be back and plan to take my business elsewhere! She is charging a high price and she should treat her customers with more respect than what I was given. read more

I took my dogs and cats to Calhoun Pet Care for several years before finding out the vet, Dr Hogan, is very unprofessional in how she speaks and the way she handles pets. A former employee let me know she speaks very hatefully about clients and does not do all in her ability to help pets. My dog passed away within a week and a half of seeing her from diabetes, which she had suspected he had for months, according to her. She had only let us know when he was too sick to get better and needed immediate medical attention. My dog could've gotten the care he needed if she had let us know the moment she suspected something was wrong with him. Speaking behind clients backs, people who trust you, is something I cannot and will lot tolerate. I love the community of Calhoun and it makes me sad to have to find another vet, but I won't give someone the time of the day who speaks rudely about me as a pet owner or my pets. Please find somewhere else to take you pet. If you need further evidence of the horrible work environment Dr Hogan creates, notice the amount of people always quitting. There is no shortage of them. I don't know a single employee that has left Calhoun Pet Care and had anything good to say about Dr Hogan. This is disappointing but I wish I'd known this before I took my pets there. read more

Be careful taking your animal here, on 3/22 we took our cat Samantha here to be trimmed, she has to be put to sleep because the barking dogs scare her, when my mom went to pick her up the lady said that she gave her too much medicine and may appear to be drunk for a day, since that day she has had a limp and has been sickly, my mom ask the lady if she fell off the table and told her that since that day she has not been the same, the vet said if my mom wants to pay 390.00 for xrays, she can bring her back in. We're afraid she won't make it home alive so have decided just not to take her back. read more
