Came by the shop with my infant son because I live around the corner and needed some air in ONE tire. I was approached by a worker who had no issue with airing it up. The shop owner then came around looking around the entire car and then proceeded to just stand there and stare. He then demanded we tipped his worker which I though was strange because shops usually do the service complimentary....but didn't mind doing so. We asked to break a $20 which the owner refused to do and then went on a rant about how nothing is free in his shop and rudely walked away. When I tell you my tires were worn down, they were were worn down. I called various places to see if they had the tires I needed in stock and almost every place I called said they were back ordered or sold out. I remembered I used to go to Calderon tires in Union city and checked to see if they were in business still. 'Cause you know the pandemic closed a lot of businesses down. I called Sunday morning, Ben answered my call. They had the tires I needed in stock and the exact brand I was looking for. The price he gave me had me sold. I went and was in and out of there in 30 min tops. He inspected my tires and said how did you get by with these for so long? These tires served their purpose, but you definitely need new ones. I found a nail in my tire on Super Bowl Sunday at 1:00. Looked on Yelp and saw that Calderon was open until 2:00. Gave him a quick call and he said that if I was able to get in within 5-10 minutes, he'd see me. Unfortunately, my tire was not able to be patched. However, he was able to change it out for a used tire. Then he gave me an estimate for how much new tires would cost and how much longer I'd be able to drive on my current tires. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience at Calderon. He was very responsive and honest with prices, even suggesting that I go to Costco, which may offer my tires for cheaper since they buy in bulk. Had 3 tires going flat and the quotes from other places were in the $700 range. I called and asked for 3 used and he quoted $90 each, which is nothing compared to $700. I ended up getting a set of 4 due to the tread being so low. This is what he showed me on my tire that was wobbling! Without them who knows how bad of an accident I could have had. Adrian! All I have to say. He is the kind soul that was honest and took care of my tire. Went to a shop 4 days ago to buy a used tire and me not knowing a thing about a good quality used tire, showed me the issues my just recently used tire purchase had. He compared it to his used tires and said, " We don't sell garbage like those other guys. This tire should have not been sold to you because it was bound to pop and very dangerous." Adrian was even mad and felt sorry for me that they did such a thing. He asked about my budget and we decided to go new although he did say I would not go wrong with the great used tires he has for a couple dollars less. His used tires come with 20k miles warranty and a free balance. New tires come with 50k+ miles and a free balance and continuous free balance every 5k miles what the heck!!!!!CALDERON TIRES owner please take care of Adrian as he is a valuable asset to you. Since I don't drive much and just needed a tire that works, I always bought a used one from them. I didn't care if the brands didn't match. Problem: 2002 540i steering wheel vibrates between 45-55 MPH. Analysis: Made an appointment to balance the tires as recommended by Hayward Alignment. Ben inspected the tires. Resolution: Ben was helpful in explaining that balancing the tires would not fix the problem. He noted that the tires were old and may explode due to the heat. He showed areas of tires cracking upon pinching. He recommended getting new tires. Purchased and installed 4 tires at a local warehouse store. If I could, I would give them a big fat zero. Called before I came to ask how much to patch a tire and the guy said 25 bucks for common size wheels such as 17 inch. He asked what car and I said a Jeep Wrangler with a 17 inch wheel. When I got there the bigger guy (possibly manager/owner) saw my Jeep which is set up for camping/over landing said the cost will be 45. I reminded him that I just spoke to him over the phone and he quoted me 25. He said that's for common sized wheels. I said my wheel size is 17 inches. He said, well I am not going to injure my back for 25 bucks!!! I then responded and said, this is a terrible business practice and left. Stay far far away. This is an awful business. There was no one at this place when I came. Makes total sense, considering all other tire shops that I called were booked up all weekend. It all makes sense now. read more

The process of maintaining tires can be stressful, no matter how one goes about it. I was having an issue with the tires on my Rav4. I pulled in and spoke with Ben. He told me that my front tires should only go up to 35 PSI and rear tires 50 PSI. I was not even charged for this service. Ben shouldered all the stress of the process for me, and therefore I had a very pleasant and fun experience. My expectations were exceeded. Don't waste your time going to these crooks especially in Hayward on Jackson I was just charged $365 for one tire that was quoted $265-$290 from other small tire companies all in. As for someone that work in Customer service I never question the cost but asked them what the brake down was and they said I can go somewhere else after the tire was installed and was told they can remove it for a cost I honestly believe they took avenge me knowing that I needed the tire right then in there. Now I know why this place is never has anyone there. The person I dealt with was Adrian so please don't waste your time or money going to Calderon at any of there locations. I went inn for a quote on flat repair. The individual I spoke with asked me about rim size if it's an 18" or above. I told him I have 22's. He talks about charging me $45.00. I asked him why so much and he compares a BMW tire to a Lexus tire that its not the same. I brought up saying that the patch is the same on every vehicle, he continues with telling me that there's more shops in the area. I went to mission tires where I paid a total of $25.00. Came here the first time for two new tires for the back. Called before hand BC they had to go get them from their warehouse. 30 mins later we were here and the tires were on. Great customer services. 200$ total. Came a second time, got a nail in my front tire. Tried to get away with a patch but figured it wouldn't last long. 20$ for the patch. I am here a third time BC its.time to replace the front patched tire. Getting a used one for 60$ including labor. Very friendly guys. And don't feel taken advantage off specially being a female.
