He was apologetics for the wait (5 vehicles ahead of me) which was completely unnecessary and worked quickly to get everyone seen in a timely manner. The chips were almost invisible after the repairs were completed and Cory made me feel important and appreciative of the business. Couldn't recommend CalAlta enough. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. On January 11, 2025, I went to their office at "3927 Edmonton Trl #8" to fix a very tiny rock chip. They charged me $31.45 but failed to fix the issue. When I asked them to either fix the chip properly or refund my money, they rudely refused to do either. I even suggested I would have the chip repaired at another glass company and return to request a refund if they managed to fix it. However, the branch manager, who appeared to be Russian, denied my request outright. This company is completely unprofessional, extremely rude, and a total waste of time and money. They didn't fix my glass, and their customer service is appalling. Avoid this company. read more

The experience was MISERABLE and DISASTROUS. The quality of service was the worst which I have never seen before. They don't fully understand what the customer service means and how to keep the customers loyal to the business. The business seems have too many customers to worry about the quality of service. Appointment time: 4:00 pm on June 4, 2025 I stopped by around 3:15 pm and asked the front desk if it was possible to get the windshield replaced prior to my original appointment time. The gentleman said they can try but maybe not get the vehicle in the shop to start until 4 pm, then I said, I would sit in my vehicle until my turn. I came back at 3:45 pm with my wife and took seats right beside his counter stand with him doing computer work, NO MORE THAN 24", and nodded to him. The gentleman was busy with the calls and paperwork back and forth by his counter stand, talked to the coworker, etc. between 3:45 and 4:00 pm. A young fellow came in with his friend at 4:00 pm and talked to the lady at the front desk, a coworker of the gentleman who I talked to before. Two receptionists totally. She confirmed the appointment time of 4:00 pm with him, took the printout and the key, then said the work should be done in an hour or no more than 1.5 hours since the shop closes at 5:30 pm. They left. I thought I should be called next to confirm the paperwork and drop off the key. Unfortunately, it NEVER happened to me. I patiently waited and hope I would be the next to be called. Around 4:05 pm, another gentleman came in and talked to the same lady. She did the same thing, confirmed the appointment time of 4:30 pm, collected the key, then the gentleman left. I, finally, approached to the lady and asked if I need to report to her only about my appointment. The lady said I can report to either of them, the gentleman who I talked to before or her. The lady sat right beside the gentleman and was free when I reported to him at 3:15 pm. I told her my appointment time was 4:00 pm. She asked me what model my vehicle is, without second thought, she said my vehicle was in the shop already !!!! What such a unbelievable receptionist. MY KEY WAS STILL IN MY POCKET. I told the lady that my vehicle was still in the parking lot and the key was still in my pocket. She then started looking at her computer for my appointment. The gentleman then said he didn't see me come back in at 3:45 pm! Well, obviously, this guy and lady never got trained how to respond and handle the situation like this professionally. I complained at the counter about how they serve the customer with other two customers at the sitting area. I angrily left. I checked out this company based on reviews and reputation. Here's what happened: They gave me the car in pieces, and the rain sensor cover fell off because they broke it and tried to fix it with tape! And this is a brand new 2023 car. There were also dirty glue spots on the window that they had to clean up when I asked. The craziest part was when I was driving on Stony Trail and the window frame started falling off while I was driving. They hadn't secured it properly from both sides. Back in March 2020, they had a generous deal for Healthcare Workers offering 50% off Windshield Replacements. Like many people, I like good deals, especially if it helps local businesses. So I got my windshield replaced March 31. Brought it back for recalibration on September 23. Then mid-October I noticed water leaking inside my windshield on the driver side at the drive-thru car wash. I called CalAlta and brought my truck in promptly after which they located the leak and sealed it off. As I was sitting in the waiting area while they were finding the leak in my windshield, there was another customer who came in stating that they had just had their windshield replaced, but now it's leaking. At that point, I was starting to think, is this a common problem around here? Finally, when I got my truck back, I looked to see what they did and I have to add that they did a visually unappealing job of sealing it. About four days after this I was about to bring my truck back so they can fix the ugly seal job they did, but I was hit with a worse surprise when my car completely died. So I got AMA to boost me, I drove it to my dealership, they then initially quoted me ~$12, 000 worth of severe electrical damages, which in the end cost $20, 525.34. Essentially the windshield replacement CalAlta did was faulty and resulted in water leaking inside the driver panel and into my dashboard. The dealership suspected I had been getting this "silent leak for months". Due to the location of the water leak, it was not noticeable at all. It wasn't until that high water pressure in the car wash when I noticed the leak inside my windshield. Because of this horrendous experience, I will never service or repair any part of my vehicle outside my dealership. I spent a total of $386.93 at CalAlta to get my cracked windshield replaced only to get slapped with $20, 525.34 of extensive electrical damages on my new Toyota Tacoma. Rightfully, the owner did end up connecting me with his insurance company, so his insurance company covered $20, 525.34 worth of electrical damages, plus the $1,501.42 for car rental. I was grateful for that. The cost, however, does not take into account the inconvenience of having your new car die on you, as well as the stress of hounding the owner over a series of emails to make him accountable for the damages they have incurred on my vehicle. Nevermind having to follow up emails with the dealership, his insurance company, as well as having to change rental cars twice while waiting for repairs. I was glad to finally have my truck back on December 18, and so far so good. I got my windshield replaced again by Toyota for the price of $909.55 because I did not want CalAlta to touch my vehicle ever again. I am now appreciating the peace of mind for the cost of $909.55. In the end, I paid out of pocket $1296.48 ($386.93 (CalAlta) + 909.55 (Toyota)) + a whole lot of stress and wasted time just to change my damn windshield. I hope none of you will have to go through this. I am sure the owner did not want this nightmare to happen to any of his customers. What made me really angry about the whole experience, besides the obvious leaky windshield replacement and its resultant damages, was the fact that the owner tried to get me to bring my truck back in to them so his partnered mechanic could try and fix it. He offered to fix the leaking windshield "100% right this time" by replacing the windshield again. Why didn't they offer this to me the first time when I brought it in for the leak instead of the sloppy seal job they did? He did right by connecting me with his insurance after I had to firmly insist to get my truck fixed at my Toyota dealership, but to offer me his mechanic instead made me feel like I was about to get screwed over again and he was just trying to save a few dollars on his end. Additionally, he could have redeemed their customer service qualities by offering to refund me for the initial price I spent at this business, but he didn't. This proved to me their inability to guarantee customer service and satisfaction. I hope that they have looked into preventing damages such as they did to my vehicle. I suggest that they encourage customers to bring their vehicles back in for reassessment to ensure no leaks exist on their new windshield replacements. I want to reiterate that I had a silent leak for a while before it became noticeable, but only under high-pressure water conditions, such as the car wash. Then, I would hope that they would always just do it 100% right every time they replace their windshields. But if they didn't get it right the first time, they should just replace the whole windshield again the second time to have it "100% right". Please re-train your employees to pay closer attention to detail, and to make sure not only is the windshield properly sealed, but that the seal job looks professionally done. I had my Windshield replaced by CalAlta. I called them two or three times on the phone, before coming to my appointment, and they were ALWAYS FRIENDLY. At my appointment, they were Very Friendly, Professional, and courteous. I appreciate very much that they give a discount for bringing in non-perishables for the Veterans. I did not skimp on the groceries because it was for a Great Cause. I went grocery shopping just for my donation. Everything looked great when they put my new windshield in. The next day it was raining and I heard some flapping going on on the roof of my car and then the tape came up on one side. I called them and they reassured me that the noise was the tape and that the windshield should be sealed at the point that I called them. Two weeks later, I got a rock chip. I called them up and they told me just to drop by anytime and go to the back. I did this and a gentleman came over and within a few minutes fixed my rock chip. This was under warranty. The next, day I was on the highway and got another rock chip. I drove back and met with the same gentleman who fixed this one also. This Company should be Proud for doing such Superior Work and GREAT Customer Service. I have told people about CalAlta and will continue. read more

They got me booked in the same week, easy transaction, took my keys and told me to wait an hour. An hour and 20 mins tops. Told me it would cost me $300 not a dollar less not a dollar more. Didn't gimmick me into buying other services or products. The waiting room has a couch, chairs, TV free gourmet lollipops, pop machine, coffee machine, vending machine, and full control of the remote - since it's foot ball season remote control is very important. I came out to a brand new windshield, dude at the back ran me through the after care instructions and I was off. No problems no fuss. It's pretty great when you call an auto glass shop and they'll give you $100 off your windshield with a donation to the Calgary food bank. Unfortunately for me, it was a side window I was after so I couldn't get in on the deal - but the offer made me feel good about their business and I decided this would be the shop I'd use. They were really flexible in finding an appointment time that worked with my complicated schedule, and they were kind enough to let me cancel with short notice and rescheduled me for the following day. I appreciate the accommodation, and apologize for the hassle! I parked in the front lot, handed them my keys and came back an hour and a bit later (they quoted me an hour and a half, but were faster) to find my truck in the same spot with a shiny new piece of glass. They were even nice enough clean all the broken glass out of the back seat - and did a great job of it too. I needed a passenger window replaced on very short notice. Since they had the window in stock, they were able to accomodate me right away that afternoon. I was impressed at how quick they were able to schedule me in given that most places these days, for any kind of work to be done, you have to schedule weeks in advance. And a broken window is not something you can schedule for.. and it can get pretty chilly if not replaced very quickly during certain months of the year. Came in for a stone chip repair (no appointment needed for stone chip rep) and it only took less than 10 mins to get it done! I paid $20.95, which I think is the standard price for this kind of service. They gave me a card where if you get your 4th stone chip repaired with them, it will be free! I just had my windshield replaced at the north side Cal-Alta a few days ago. The front counter person was friendly and courteous. The windshield however, was in my opinion far less than satisfactory. The "frit" (dot matrix part around the perimeter) was not wide enough in places to hide my interior trim edge and some of the rough side of the trim actually shows through the windshield. I could have lived with that but the bigger problem is that the glass is quite distorted when looking across to the passenger side. This is very noticeable when looking at an object with a repeating pattern such as a brick wall or a fence. The object has a "wavy" look. I then did some research and discovered that the glass used is a Chinese made product from a factory with questionable standards. The way to determine the source of your windshield regardless of brand is to look at the "DOT" code on the glass label. In my case it was DOT 563 which maps to a factory in Shenzhen China. Googl-ing the DOT code revealed a large number of negative feedbacks. As such, I am neutral on the installation. I ended up paying just under $300 (this included a Groupon). I was so disappointed with the replacement that I ended up calling my dealer for an OEM replacement. Admittedly, the cost is about 4 times as much but driving around with non-distorted and correctly fritted glass makes it worth it. Summary: You get what you pay for. Update 9/19/2012: Discovered my first installation issue. The wiper arms were installed at the wrong angles and as such could not be swung upwards as they hit the top edge of the hood of my car. Ideally, the initial angle should have been marked or taped on the cowl so that the arms could be re-installed at the same angle. read more

He asked irrelevant question (such as what I did for a living) just to probe and used every opportunity to blame the customer. He made a lot of assumptions without even asking what the issue was and was very confrontational. I had to step back several times and felt very threatened. He just kept talking and wouldn't listen. Went to the south location with on crack in my windshield. It was from the middle bottome going up to the driver's side, about 4 inches long. Crack guy, Cory I think his name was, said don't waste your money. The crack will just go back down and not spread. You don't need to worry about it. A few months later the crack spread like crazy and it went up and not down. WIndshield has to be replaced. From what should have been a $30 crack repair I now have to spend $300. Called Mason, manager at Edmonton Trail, where Cory works now, and he started to dodge and dance around and completely ignoring what I was saying. Like he has a routine for demeaning customers. I called to get a quote on the windshield replacement and not for free service. Just a good price considering they screwed up in the first place. Well CalAlta is the typical auto service place where the customer is always wrong and just shut up and pay while we ignore and cover up our mistakes. I suggest Windshield Surgeons. Windshield is fine, good price, but snapped the washer fluid line to one of the nozzles, so I called and they said all the right things but when I got there different story - blah blah blah we didn't do it, we don't remove that part to replace the windshield (which is impossible), anyways, I crazy glued the jet nozzle and fixed it myself but just sayin', the way they handled it was classic shifty, I won't go back. read more

What a great experience. I walked in, they were able to replace my window right away. They matched the Groupon coupon so I didn't have to go through the hassle of buying and redeeming. It was cheaper than my last glass at the dealership. FYI don't buy the Groupon just go in and ask for the In-house Groupon. The office is clean and welcoming so waiting isn't a big deal. They had the NHL playoffs in the TV and those yummy old fashioned lollipops for free if u had low sugar I put off replacing my windshield because I didn't want the hassle and to wait in some nasty garage. I recommend this establishment based on my experience with Cal-Alta last spring. I made two visits to their shop. They were professional, clear in what was to be done, when the worked would be completed and the total cost for the work being agreed upon. In fact, on one of those occasions I pulled my car out back, watched the work in progress and had a lengthy conversation with the gentleman performing the work. Everything went as promised, the windshield works, no leaks, no wind noise, etc. One suggestion: It would be a good idea to have the representative do a walk around your vehicle before starting the work, agreeing upon damage to the vehicle before commencing the work. This place is a gem! I received a coupon via living social for $125.00 off of a windshield replacement. I was a little nervous to bring my car there since some businesses can be a little sketchy. However, this place was great and it ran like a well oiled machine! I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment. My appointment was at noon and the receptionist said I would have to wait until about 120PM until my car would be ready. I had already expected that wait time so I brought homework with me. And wouldn't you know it, my car was done at 1220PM. I was very happy that I didn't have to wait that long, I was pleased with the service and as I was about to leave one of their techs spoke to me about my car and what I needed to do to ensure the windshield sealant sealed properly. They also offer free chip repairs for a period of 2 months (I think) on new windshields and also a lifetime warranty on their work! Awesome! I went to CalAlta south location to fix some rock chips, using a Groupon. The quality of the so-called repair was abysmal, the small cracks (spider web) from the chip were not filled properly (or at all in my opinion). The job was "finished" in less than 10 minutes. Considering that I was not the only customer there, I suspect the "technician" only put a drop of resin on top of the chip and called it a day. The next day, I bought another Groupon, and went to the north location (where I normally go for this type of jobs), where they had to drill the "repair" done before and properly fill the chip all the way... the job took around 20 - 30 minutes (which is the proper amount of time for this type of job, not under 10 minutes), and it was done completely and very professional... I can barely see the initial cracks, they look like a hairline now... hats off to the crew at the north location... will go there again and again for this type of work... will never go to the south location again... very disappointing experience. read more
