If you want a sloppy job this is the place to go. I've had 3 windshields replaced there now, The last 2 have been poor. They will use the door sill on your vehicle to stand on leaving black glue from their boots on it. The interior will need detailing as the vehicle will never be returned in the same condition as it went in. As well the previous installation had scratches on the door pillar beside the windshield. The installers do not care. Better off to pay a little more and go elsewhere which is what I will do for any future windshields. read more

Just got home from having a new windshield put in my 2018 Chev Colorado. What a pleasant surprise to work with this company. The receptionists were great and helpful and the installation took about 35 minutes. Fastest instal in my lifetime. They were collecting food for the Veterans Food Bank and a donation of food stuff recieved a $120 credit. Nice charitable contribution to our vets. Also got 3 chip fixes free over the next year and a coupon for $130 off my next or anyone's next windshield replacement. They are a Customer Choice Winner since 2003 and I see why. read more

This place is a scam. Their glass is cheap but what the scam is that they use groupon to advertise. I bought a voucher on groupon for 35 dollars that said it would save me 140 on a windshield replacement. that works out to a 105 dollar savings. where the scam is the price their windshields so high that the 105 dollar savings brings it to a price in line with competitors. however if you do some research some places are far better priced. I am saving 20 dollars even after losing out on that useless groupon voucher of 35 dollars. Avoid anyplace that knowingly deceived their customers this way. What a joke of a business. Super nice folks, but, very low quality glass. Passenger side has such distortion that it makes people sitting in that seat feel sick due to the visual distortion. In fairness, it was cheap in price compared to OEM glass. But I do not feel it meets OEE glass standards, and must be cheap aftermarket glass. So, if you want cheap, then ok, but if you want quality glass, perhaps look elsewhere. read more

Poor job of installing the rubber seal. The story goes as follows: When I brought in my BMW 328 for a new windshield, the staff was excellent, very friendly. Took longer than planned, as they didn't have the rubber seal they needed in stock (although I did have an appointment, and they knew my make/model ahead of time). No big deal, I walked out for lunch. Once my car was ready, everything looked great, the glass seemed beautiful and again the staff was truly very nice. The instructions were to leave the side window open a crack, and to leave the tape overtop of the rubber seal for at least 24 hours before removing it. As I wasn't using my car the next few days, it sat in my garage (July) for the next 48 hours untouched. I then carefully removed the tape, and to my horror observed the rubber seal was installed by someone who was in a rush and paid no attention to detail whatsoever. Super sloppy job. The original rubber seal I had on my BMW windshield fit as you might imagine things fit on a BMW - exactly right, no holes, no gaps, nothing flapping loose - a perfect seal as it should be. The rubber seal installed by CalAlta Glass was lopsided, the corners were flapping loose, there were visible holes and gaps, and you could even plainly see the edge of the glass. My 8 year old nefew could have done a better job. It appeared like a horrible D.I.Y. job gone badly. I wrote the manager an email expressing my concern, he told me to bring my car back in. Good, I thought, they will make this right. Unfortunately, not so much. They explained that was normal, there was nothing they could do. To fix the rubber seal, they said, they would have to completely remove the glass and reinstall the whole thing - and they were not willing to do that. It was just fine, they claimed. I even attempted talking to another CalAlta location, they had one of their guys fiddle with the seal using a putty knife, and he tried to stretch it straight and re-glue it. Made virtually no difference - it was still crooked, had holes and visible gaps, and the corners were still loose and literally flapping in the wind. They were also unwilling to redo the work. It was purely cosmetic, they claimed. So here's the bottom line: If you want a new piece of glass slapped in your vehicle to the bare minimum standard, then they are just fine. The office staff is polite. If, however, you actually want your vehicle to LOOK GOOD, and if you are concerned with "cosmetic" things like your rubber seal actually FITTING properly, and not having holes or loose flappy rubber bits - THEN AVOID CALALTA because they have told me they are not concerned about these things, and unwilling to correct poor workmanship. Poor job of replacing trim on vehicle that is required to be removed for installing the windshield. We all make mistakes, but they would not accept responsibility for it. Tried to tell us they did not make the error. Because we take the trim and moldings off our vehicle roof every day, right??? If you didn't know about that while you wait head across the street the the grocery store abs by a no name 2 bucks dry food if it is going to save you 120 on a windshield! Once upon a time an angry bird decided to smash two windshields with one stone. And I was one of the unlucky recipients. I purchased a Groupon for a windshield replacement because of this and like most things in my life, I waited till the last minute to use it. When I called to book an appointment with Cal-Alta Auto Glass, the receptionist was super busy and put me on hold twice, but came back to let me know that she didn't forget about me, just had a lot going on. She was so friendly, I had no issue with this (plus I imagine that like myself, many others were getting in at the last minute to use that groupon as well). Today I dropped off my car and they told me not to go anywhere as they would get to it right away. You know when you meet someone and they just exude genuine friendliness? This is Cal-Alta's receptionist. Seriously, she included everyone in the waiting room in her conversations and carried herself with such joie de vivre. Plus, someone commented on her nails and she right away started promoting a local nail place she had just visited. I liked that she was a fan of a neighborhood business and would promote them with nothing in it for herself. True to their word about getting to my car right away, my windshield was replaced within 45 minutes (they do tell you an hour and a half on the phone) and everyone that worked at this establishment that I interacted with was super friendly. It had a real family owned feeling to it. Although I lucked out with the Groupon, I know the next time I have a cracked windshield I will come to Cal-Alta to have it replaced and recommend every one do the same. And the bird that did this? When you think about the last time you had outstanding service, you tend to think about a special meal out or attentive hotel staff. This weekend, I was actually shocked at the cheerful, quick, quality service I received from the crew at CalAlta Auto Glass. I think that some of the restaurants around town could send their staff here for training! My boyfriend and I each took our cars in to get windshield chips repaired. I had 3 chips - 2 of which 'came with' the car when I bought it recently. The guys took a look and told me that the old chips had already been filled, so I only had one left to fill. I had no idea that the old ones had already been filled and I can easily see another shop charging me to "fill" them. We had a groupon for 3 chip repairs. It just happened that my bf had 2 chips filled while I had the one. They allowed us to combine the invoice from our two cars and pay with just the one groupon (side-note: this is by far my best experience ever at a place while using a groupon!). The entire process, from pulling in to leaving, took no more than 10 minutes. Sure, the waiting room isn't luxurious. But when you spend so little time waiting, I'm quite happy to let that slide. I'd rather a company spent its money recruiting, training and retaining outstanding employees then buying a nice couch any day. read more

I've never experienced such horrible service and condescending and disgusting help! We had our windshield replaced, our vehicle has lane departure and collision detection and since getting it back, neither of these features work! The south location took the vehicle back in today with 0 luck in fixing the issue. They told us we had to call the north location and speak to Kevin, I did that explaining that the south location said we apparently need a calibration from him and he informs me that it'll cost us 100's more to do that. When I asked why this wasn't mentioned when we asked about lane detection and collision detection when booking and even confirming back and forth via email, I was told, I didn't specifically ask about it needing calibration so too bad. Kevin thanks for making me cry with your disgusting service and lack of help! Shame on your guys for your piss poor help, small print money grabbing after the fact crap! I'll be sure we and no one else we know, comes here after the horrendous experience we had between Friday and today. Customer service goes a long way, being kind goes even further!!!! Clearly not important to this company! To accuse us of being at fault and be so rude to us, saying because we didn't specifically ask about calibration when booking even though we did ask about lane departure and collision detection and you chose to leave this out, is sleezy business! read more

The people at Calalta are lovely. There are lots of reasons, starting with the fact that they do good solid glass work. Also, they are kind and reasonable when it comes to things like groupons, confusions, questions, etc. They are quick but precise with their work. And a personal story: I brought my car in for a new windshield, and at the time I happened to have a three-panel black rubbber scuff all down the side of my van. We had been meaning to buff it off but hadn't made the time yet. The guys in the workshop buffed it off, shined up my van, and didn't even say anything about doing it. Thank you Calalta! Quite disappointed in several aspects of the experience with this company. I finally settled on them after 2 other companies quote around $200.00. Someone suggested I try Groupon and there found a deal for "$130.00 off." Bought the Groupon and made the call only to find that the quote was still around $200.00. Well, there's waste of $30.00! Okay, made the appointment and (after some confusion) got to my appt. at 1:00 on Friday. I was smugly informed by the Office Manager, (Kathy/Karen?) that I could have just gotten the coupon (which apparently had no value anyway) off of their website for free. So, now I'm at $230.00 cost for a windshield that I could have gotten in at least 2 other places for $200.00! Finally, after returning from lunch I was subject to hearing the Office Manager and another lady (I don't know if she was a customer or a friend) as they talked about Mani-Pedis. Most disturbing was a remark by Kathy/Karen that her (and I quote) "toenails are so long I could hang from a tree." I don't need to hear that! All in all, I felt baited and switched and I was certainly unimpressed by their lack of professionalism. At the end of the day, good job on the windshield replacement, though. read more

AMAZING service and extremely reasonable price. I got a voucher for 3 windshield chip repairs for $19. I was a little weary because I thought the price was too good to be true. I was able to get in right away. I had three kids with me and the staff was all very nice to the them and didn't seem to be bothered by littke voices in the waiting area. Waiting area is clean and comfy. The front desk ladies were pleasant and helpful. The whole thing was done in less than 20 mins. I was nervous backing my car our of the garage at the end and without me even asking one of the gentlemen who work there offered to back my car out for me. Poor workmanship! Got my CRV 2015 windshield replaced but an approx. 15mm gap between the windshield and the rubber trim/plastic part at the bottom near drivers side. When I went back at their shop after 2 days for them to have it check, General manager Karen told me that the rubber trim is already old, and its not noticeable, seriously without even really inspecting whats protruding the trim? So I went back home and inspect it myself, it seems that the heater cable for the windshield is not properly laid out. From the picture its not because the trim is old why there is a gap. I replaced the windshields on both of my cars from cal alta and they were both distorted. One was so bad that it was creaking and had lots of wind noise coming through the glass. Took it back there a few times and they did nothing. Ended up going to another shop to get a second opinion and they told me that the moldings on the windshield were broken and that's where the noise was coming from. I ordered new moldings and went elsewhere for a proper windshield install. read more

I took my vehicle for a new windshield. Windshield seems good however my vehicle was scratched while it was at their shop. I phoned to report the damage and was told to bring it by the shop. When I took it to the shop they claimed to have video cameras and said they reviewed the footage and their was no evidence of damage to my vehicle. When I showed them the scratches, they made all kinds of excuses about how it didn't happen at their shop. I asked to see the video and they couldn't produce it. I left my name and number for the owner to call me and haven't heard back from them and that was over 2 weeks ago. I know the damage occurred while in their shop because the vehicle was washed right before I took it to them. read more

I used to go to another auto glass repair but went to Calalta because they had won consumer choice awards and the cost was ~$20 (compared to $50). Service was fast and efficient. No appointment needed. However, the small repair job (less than dime size) cracked in less than a month, extending into my sight line and needed replacement. Bad luck happens, right? I went back to have my windshield replaced. At the time, I couldn't find my chip repair receipt, so they didn't offer any credit or discount but said if I find the receipt, then to bring it in. (They don't keep chip repairs in their computer system.) The windshield was replaced very fast, but they added a green-tinted strip along the top of the windshield (which I dislike). When asked why that was done without prior consent, they said that those were the "only windshields they carried" because "it was so popular". (I feel that they should have informed the consumer ahead of time when providing a replacement product that was different in appearance from the original.) A few months later during spring, I noticed that the plastic strip covering one edge of the windshield was loose (not glued back properly). They said I can just bring it in to have that fixed. At that time, I also found my original receipt for the chip repair while filing taxes. Unfortunately, the lady at the desk went back on her word and said that nothing can be done at that point: No refund of the original chip repair, and no discount off the windshield replacement. When asked if I can have any discount off the next chip repair in lieu of, her answer was no, that "nothing can be done". My overall impression is that they receive such a large volume of orders that the individual customer service and product suffers. I highly dislike the look of my green-tinted windshield and am unhappy that they didn't offer any compensation for a failed chip repair. l have had multiple chip repairs at the other windshield repair shop and never was there any crack post-repair. If I didn't switch to Calalta, the cost of any failed repair would have been credited towards the cost of a windshield replacement. I would not recommend this company. It may offer cheap services, but I didn't get a good product or customer experience. read more

All I want to say this is absolutely the right and best place for a windshield chip repair. Not a luxury place at your first sight but the staff and service there will be rated more than 6 stars. Got a bad windshield chip repaired within 15 minutes; two sick kids were watched by a friendly staff when I need to drive the car through the back door; my car was parked right at the front entrance by the technician to save my trouble hauling the kids up and down stairs. Very small things, but how considerate they are! Finally, of course, cost you only $20, instead of a rip off from some popular brand name place starting $62.99 for a chip repair! read more
