Our party of three had a peanut butter shake which was lacking in peanut butter. The shake was very thick, too thick to use a straw so a spoon it was. Another had bubble gum ice cream and she has been searching for this flavor for months and she said it's delicious. Another had chocolate brownie something and loved it. If I'm going to be completely honest, I need to recommend you go somewhere else to get your ice cream. Of course that's being completely selfish because the ice cream here is the best I've ever tasted in my life and I just don't want to have to stand in line every time I come in. No joke, I have no idea how they make this stuff but it's amazing regardless of the flavor you get. There is no bad choice, only bad timing when trying to get some. I have found the quickest way through is to go in and walk directly to the freezer with pre-packaged pints and just get one that sounds good to you, then you can walk directly to the register and pay for it. That takes about 3 minutes and makes everyone in line look at you like you're some kind of genius or superhero but it does limit you in your choices somewhat. But if you remember, I said there isn't any bad choices here so you can't go wrong. Hello Yelpers! This review is a bit shorter than my normal, but at times, simple is better! We went to visit some family in North Carolina and they took us to this cute little spot for some ice cream. The outdoor decor was super cute and even had a small area with cows for a photo op. Of course we took advantage! The place is very welcoming and had so many selections for ice cream. I tried to keep mine simple with chocolate and strawberry (tastes like a chocolate covered strawberry in a cone), my Dad got butter pecan and maple walnut in a cone, and I honestly can't remember what my Mom got (oops!). The texture was creamy and smooth. The flavors popped but it was not too much to shock your taste buds. You can definitely tell the ice cream was homemade and fresh. 10/10 highly recommend if you're in the area and want a sweet treat! Mistook ice cream shop next door for Calabash Creamery. We noticed when leaving we were at the wrong place. The next night my granddaughter asked to drive back and try the correct Calabash Creamery. This place is a treasure! The ice cream is so creamy and their waffle cones are the perfect size. We weren't overwhelmed with the taste though as neither tasted much like what we ordered (brownie batter and bourbon pecan). It was still good though. Again, the creaminess is like no other! This is the thing though, one of the best things about this place is the huge wrap around porch with rockers to sit upon while eating your ice cream. Which we tried to do, but we couldn't because the flies were absolutely unbearable! They were literally everywhere. It was disturbing! Although they didn't ask for my help with this, I do have a few suggestions. Get the trash cans off the porch!! One, they were overflowing and two the flies were hovering over each of them in alarming numbers. The other thing that will help, is to pressure wash the deck and furniture, or at least hose them down often. And finally, place fans strategically around to push the flies away.
