Saltwater Scoops is a very cut and busy little ice cream shop tucked into the Galleria Shopping Plaza. They make all of their ice cream in house and have their mainstay flavors as well as daily flavors. It was so busy in there the day that we went I totally forgot to take pictures of the menus (and our ice cream because it was that good. lol) The hubs got the honey vanilla which he enjoyed but said he would try something different next time. I got a scoop of salted caramel which was a daily special and a scoop of blonde beach which had golden Oreos and which chocolate in it. So delicious. I've been meaning to stop in for a while and finally had the chance today. It doesn't look like much from the outside and has zero street visibility. But once you find Saltwater Scoops, you are going to be very happy. It, without a doubt, is some of the best ice cream that I have ever tried. Don't be shocked by the prices, they actually are a bit low for what you receive compared to other beach establishments. This is a family owned and run business. They really put their heart and soul into it. Be sure to say hi to Todd if he's there working. I wanted to have a small serving, but the scoop size was incredible. Took me quite some time to finish one scoop. I had the strawberry, which I absolutely loved. My wife had the coffee bean, and it was superb. The roasted coffee beans come from the shop just on the other side of Hwy 17. They roasted their own beans and provide them to many of the local, higher end restaurants. Y'all! If you want ice cream and are in the area- check this out! It's in a strip mall near a bar and Coast Pizza. Huge portions! One scoop= two scoops in most places. $4.00 for one scoop and worth it. No kiddie sizes for the kiddos. We tried a few different varieties and we loved them all. I wish I took photos, as I usually would. No off the wall flavors. Vanilla or chocolate bases with mix ins only. So much better than chain spots. Check it out! read more

The first thing that I noticed is that there is just one table outside, and no tables inside, just some built-in benches. Ok, I guess, not sure where people are expected to eat this ice cream. Still excited about the homemade ice cream which should really set it apart. Until I see the sign with the flavors and the staff say that they don't allow samples. What?! Only one type of chocolate ice cream...classic chocolate (yay, so unique). I can get classic chocolate anywhere, so I didn't even order anything. Took a lick of the kid's chocolate and it was indeed nothing short of just plain chocolate, nothing special. Very disappointed. Oh, and if you need to use a restroom? Small relatively new family owned ice cream shop. Totally home made. There are not many flavors but they are all delicious. I had brownie chocolate and honey vanilla. My Husband had butter pecan. All was creamy and very good. They had a blueberry lemon ice cream that another customer said was delicious also. Try them out! You will love it. read more

I like supporting small businesses so I decided to give this place a try. The ice cream was decent as it wasn't the worst or best. I went with my wife, daughter, and her friend. The order was about $26 and we left a $4 tip. My daughter got 3 scoops in a cone and quickly realized she needed a bowl. We asked them for a bowl and they told us it would be $1 for a bowl...(a Dixie bowl). Petty. I wouldn't have given a $4 tip knowing they would try to charge me for a Dixie bowl. read more
