DO NOT GO HERE!!! I purchased my wiring and got it installed here for my subwoofer. FOR 450$! A year after installation, the wiring melts and causes a small fire in my trunk, burning a hole into my battery. I came back to the shop expecting them to replace it free of charge. Boy was I wrong, not only did he try to charge me for parts but LABOR AS WELL. I never once adjusted or changed a thing about the setup they gave me. Well, the employee became angry and got into my face yelling profanities at me. So i'm left with 450$ useless wiring and -230$ for a new battery. Super unprofessional and sketchy.

They did an awesome tint job for a great price on my 17' Corolla. Only cost about $280 for 35% back window tint and 20% front window tint. Quality work!

They did some audio work on my boat. It never work right after they installed the amp. Took it back several times with no resolution. Ended up going somewhere else to get it fixed. Don't go to cal customs, they will just take your money and do a poor job. read more

I was looking to get window tint on my vehicle and reached out to Cal Custom. I was interested specifically in full ceramic to block more UV light/heat from the interior. Cal Custom was very competitive in pricing. I messaged the owner and he was quick to respond through IG. I booked a date & time within a couple days of messaging him. I dropped my vehicle off at 11am and it was done by 3pm. I couldn't have asked for the tint to be installed any better. Cal Custom upgraded the built-in outdated nav system in our 2011 Honda Insight to a modern Sony touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, plus added a high def backup camera. Paul was easy to work with, walked me through options and pros and cons, and was clear about pricing and time frame. They nailed the installation, looks great, hid the wires on the backup camera so you don't see a trace. He's also got a separate business partner who polished up the headlight exterior looking like new. Pricing & selection: they had two models of stereo and one model of backup camera in store that are compatible with my vehicle. You'll find more options both higher and lower price online, but price for the Sony unit was same in-store as online from Crutchfield or Best Buy. You'll also find lots of videos on how to DIY the install. For a job I'm probably only ever going to do once, I was happy to support a local small business who doesn't stock cheap stuff that's going to fail in 6 months, and who can select the right adapters and wiring harnesses the first time, and has the tools and know-how to do a clean install without breaking clips and panels. I was very happy and would use them again. read more

Glad I read reviews before I chose to go to Cal Custom. Bought my son a 2014 Corolla and purchased a Viper alarm for keyless entry and replaced the deck with something that supported CarPlay. Installed the Viper in one afternoon, and the deck in a few hours as well. No up-sell, no pressure. Just knowledgeable guys running a solid business. Definitely recommend and will be back for sure. Highly recommend you come here for all your custom audio and window services. Paul provides great customer service, and he is very knowledgeable and experienced. I came here to get a 12 " JBL sub put into my car, and it was the smoothest purchase I've ever made. I showed up, told Paul what I was looking for, he discussed my options with me, and then made a great recommendation to go with the JBL with the built in amp. Paul got right on it and installed the system within 2 hours, explained the technical specs to me and showed me how to operate the system properly. I had a sound system put in my brand new Chevy Silverado by these guys a few weeks back. Paul is who I dealt with. I received the best customer service and quality of product/work of any car audio place I've ever been too. I could not be happier with the system that Paul installed for me. DO NOT take your vehicle here, do not pre pay for any services. You WILL lose your money. This is a bottom of the barrel shop that barely knows what they are doing or anything about customer service. I paid $330 ahead of time to get my car tinted, ended up not needing the tint because I sold the car, they would not refund my money even with the receipt. I basically lost $330 after receiving no service and muscle head tried to strong arm me and get in my face to say that is their store policy. This place was a real disappointment. I have dealt with many customers as I ran a few businesses in my time, the smart thing would have been to give me my whole refund. If you really need a tint shop, go to ACJ tinting in Hayward, they do a good job at a great price. read more

One Stop Shop. These guys are great. Paul and Vince are as good as they get. We've had three different things done with 3 different types of Rides. I went here a while ago and was beyond shocked. I gave this place a try because my friend recommended it and said he could give me a deal. Besides the owner calling my friend his "cousin" there was no form of a deal whatsoever. I brought in my two Eclipse subwoofers hoping they could install those and I would pay for an amp and the install fees....WRONG. They told me they could do so and proceeded to come out after 20 minutes and said they blew both Eclipse subwoofers and could not replace them. Being somewhat younger than I am now, I didn't know any better and agreed I would have to buy new ones. They will totally take advantage of you if you let them. The $150 "deal" I was supposed to get turned into a $450 fiasco. Don't go here and if you are desperate, try somewhere in Modesto like Audio Pros or Car Audio Depot....much better service with no complaints. read more

one of my customers told me about this place- I wasnt sure about driving all the way to tracy, but since they were open on sundays and the guys were super helpful. I was not sure what kind of system I wanted,I checked other places and it seem like they just wanted to sell me the most expensive system and all sorts of stuff I didn't need. Long story short Paul, Abel and Victor were wonderful! Despite being swamped on the weekend I was treated really good and I was impressed at how quickly they worked! they totally helped me and didnt make me feel like a dumb girl like some of the other places. I have no idea what the hell Carl was taking about in his review. sounds like he is nuts, every one speaks english, and some of them speak spanish. More importantly they speak customer service A+ from me. these guys are totally professionals and they have some super specials that were hard to beat. Plus i really enjoyed my ride home with my new sound system :) read more

Love these guys! I was super picky about who I would hire to install an upgraded stereo in my new Corvette. They took the time to go through the best options for the space and sound I was looking for. They didn't try to upsell or add items that I didn't really need. I am so happy with my new stereo and they returned my car perfectly clean and didn't damage or scratch a bit of the interior. They also have cool cameras in their work area so you can actually watch them working on your car! Highly recommend and will be going back for additional items in the future! read more

I didn't notice right away until the winter months and noticed my rear window would not defog all the way and my pocket windows stayed fogged up. They could have let me know so I could go get it fixed. It's dangerous to drive with Foggy windows. I read past reviews and They have done this to other customers. I am very busy with my family and work and didn't notice right away. I would not recommend taking your car here. I will now have to pay to fix my windows and I will be taking my car to Quality Tinting in Salida. I should have went there in the first place.

I was shown the tint options, but there wasn't really an explanation of the differences, and no one looked at my vehicle or walked me through what would work best. It felt rushed and like I was inconveniencing them. It felt like I had to do most of the work just to communicate basic information, and that concerns were somewhat dismissed, which felt uneasy when getting a service done. I was given a rough time for when my car would be ready when I asked, but there wasn't clear communication about how I'd be notified until I asked. The worker didn't even have my phone number on file until I brought it up, so if I hadn't asked, I'm not sure how they were expecting to contact me. I ended up calling to check on my car since I hadn't seen any activity, and that's when the owner, Lux who picked up mentioned there were delays since this morning with other vehicles. I completely understand that tinting can be a time-consuming, detail-oriented process and delays can happen, but it would have been appreciated to have clear and respectful communication from the beginning when I arrived especially for an expensive service. After my call, the owner, Lux was very attentive and made sure to follow up when my vehicle was ready, and the tint worker also reached out. Upon pickup, the worker also made a somewhat weird comment regarding timing, which added to the overall uncomfortable experience.Overall, maybe I just had a bad experience with the service worker, and I'm hoping the tint itself turns out fine, but nothing was really explained in terms of information included with my tint install, which felt pretty disappointing for the price and type of service. Overall, the experience felt inconsistent and left me feeling uneasy. A more apologetic and attentive professional approach would have made a big difference. Based on my experience, I would be hesitant to recommend them to others.

My name is Nate Shaw reviewing Cali Custom Audio, an I have to say it is one of the BEST places to get any electronic product. I currently bought a 7" screen in dash DVD/CD/iPOD player worth around $450. They gave it to me for $300 out the door installed. After I looked at the product I wasn't impressed with it as i thought i would be. I went back the next day to ask if they would be able to do a trade with me or my money back. They told me that they would work with me till i was happy. I went back several different days looking for a deck that I liked, thinking that i must be bugging them with all the trouble. But they were as welcoming as the first day i walked in there. Sure enough the deck I picked out was worth more then the one i had before. They asked, "You really like that one." My answer was yes, not only did they give me the deck, but they hooked me up with two 6x9 speakers with the boxes and installed it. The price range for all of it came to be around $550 to $600 with labor an all. They gave it to me for $350, if that's not GREAT customer service then i don't know what is. So what I'm trying to say to all that have read my little story here, is stop tryin to find a place with cheap prices an great customer service, cause California Custom Audio is the place to go. read more

These guys are fantastic! I recently had a shit show of an experience at "professional auto stereo in manteca " I paid them to install a deck. They told me my amplifier was blown and also my front speakers were blown.Then of course proceed to sell me new ones. I got a bad feeling when they left wire scraps everywhere and my door speakers didn't work. So I went down to cal custom and had them take a look. They immediately diagnose why my amp was not working ( pro audio bypassed the amp I would assume to sell me a new one) and then they found several shady mistakes and shortcuts that were taken. Pointing out several live wires and simple mistakes a true car audio person would never have made. It was a flat out fire hazzard. They not only re-wired my whole car properly but managed to install a new WORKING amp for dirt cheap. My system sounds better than it ever did, and way better than I expected. Not only would I HIGHLY recommend them I am myself going back to have a remote start installation done. I am very happy with this business and will definitely go back! Thanks guys!!!! read more

Take Time to Read This before going here. I'm glad to see that I am not the only one that thinks this place is a Joke. I could vent about it but in shorter words Very Unprofessional, I brought a classic there to get subs and custom molds for my highs and was very clear about them not doing anything to degrade the value of my car. They Failed Miserably. They mounted the molds with screws through my original panels. Also engaged my ebrake and disconnected the petal for me to find out on the side of the freeway with a redhot brakedrum. As well as failed to mount the sub box resulting in a nice dent from the box coming loose and slamming to the side. Then noticed they also used screws through the the metal of my trunk outside the Weathering resulting in mildew and water damaged amps. When I Confronted "Vince became extremely defensive and accused me of being the reason for my box denting my car. Stay Away from this place if you value your car of any kind. read more

Paul got my Chevy truck hooked up with an amazing system. I hear a lot of systems that sound like crap because they're pushing too much for the size of the vehicle and sound like the doors and windows are going to bust out. He recommended a great deck, amp, and sub that were perfect for my truck I was impressed that he told me to leave the factory rear speakers in as he felt they didn't need replacing. It would have been an easy upsell as I was a noob in the auto sound department. That speaks of honesty and looking out for the customer. That's why I'm taking my Audi in to get the stock system upgraded. These guys know their stuff and will help you choose a system that's right for you, not them. read more

I drive from Turlock to Tracy Cal Customs to get any audio work on my car. They aren't trying to scam you and give you every option you might want to choose from. I went to a place in Turlock when my sub originally cut out and they told me a need all new RCA cables ran through the car. I went to Cal Customs and they said all I need to do is re-strip two wires in the trunk, which was something I was capable of doing myself. They provide great service and didn't take long. I've had my sub installed and a stereo installed from them each were perfect and cleanly installed. read more

These guys ripped me off. They want you to buy the stereo they have otherwise they wont guarantee or warranty their work. Really weird. I dont want any other people out there to experience the same. I wasted over $120 for a simple car stereo installation and because I bought the stereo outside rather than there store they would not try to make it to work without charging me a leg. I brought my car to bestbuy and they took care of the problem for a very minimal charge. Go somewhere else just not with this guys. read more

I surprised my husband with it and he was so happy. They did a great job with the system on the bike. They have excellent customer service and they are very humble.
