OMG, this place is to die for. They make the best custard puffs with caramel and shaved almonds on top. These are for a party tomorrow and I've already ate 3, need to hide them lol. They also make some killer cream puffs, couple different kinds and amazing cakes. Forget about it, this is the place to go to, no one else compares

One of the Best cakes and cookies places I order since over 6 years from them and it's always fresh and like I want it . The owner always put heart to make them beautiful and special and price is also very good I highly recommend this place

My wedding cake came out just like the photo

Ms. Ania did an amazing job on my wedding cake and sweets table. She created a beautiful 3-tier cake and decorated it based on a photo I provided. (She even let me and my fiancé at the time do a tasting, so we knew what flavors to pick for the cake!) On the day of wedding, she delivered the everything on time, plus set up a beautiful sweet table -- the decoration was amazing. Everyone at my wedding was very impressed!

The color of this cake should be pale Tiffany blue.If you cannot deliver what you promised to your customer then you should compensate them.
Deb T.

This will be in response to the business owner, if you remember that day you handed me the cake Ms. Anna, you admitted you messed up the color by apologizing you CANNOT do the pale Tiffany blue icing. Instead, you made the letters into pale blue, which clearly means you interchange the color. And you did not even try to rectify the mistake you made before you gave the cake. I did write what's supposed to be written on the cake but you were the one who wrote down the design and color. I even sent you through text the color that needs to be done. Excuse me, but I know the difference between a dried sugar based morsel from an eggshell. I didn't have time to take a picture of the eggshell, it's just plain NASTY.

We had my nieces quincenera January 2019. I went 1 week before and received a beautiful delicious cake!
Melissa C.

We wanted a beautiful simple cake for a quincenera and that's exactly what we received! Everyone thought the cake was elegant and delicious !

Puerto Rico theme!

I had a Puerto Rico theme birthday party. I sent a picture of a cake with the design I wanted. They did a GREAT job!! Inexpensive. The cake was moist and the strawberry filling was so good. Absolutely recommend this place!!!

Birthday Cake

This place has the most talented pastry Chef (Ania) in all of Chicago and surroundings. She is a true Artist. I have requested a special 3D cake for my Daughter's 3rd birthday, less than a week away from the event. All other places require orders to be made at least 10 days prior. She has asked that I'd send her "literally anything" from the web and she will make it exactly the same. The cake ended up being ready for pick up on time and looking even better than the one from the web. On top of it all, pricing is out of this world. For the same exact design a bakery on Division St in Chicago has quoted me over $600.00 where Ania has only charged me $130.00. This place needs recognition, it is a true GEM! Absolutely worth the drive from anywhere in the city or suburbs. Thank U Ania for your Magic, you have made my little princess really happy.

Absolutely delicious cakes! I ordered a 3 layered cake for my daughters baptism which was pear and raspberry flavor. It was not only beautiful but delicious! The design of the cake was exactly as the photo I showed the owner. I will definitely recommend everyone I know to this bakery as well as use it for all future events!

My mom recommended this place after a mishap with a competing bakery. I called and placed the order for my son's christening over the phone easily. I was so happy with the way the cake turned out! Everyone talked about how good it was too. How much better can you get than easy, pretty, & tasty?

Panna Cotta and cake pops
Marta G.

Their cakes are delicious! I ordered a raspberry and pear cake for my daughter's 1st Birthday and not only did they make it great, they decorated it just like I asked - a Minnie Mouse design. They also made cake pops and panna cotta, hey we're amazing! Highly recommend them

This is my absolute most favorite bakery. So this is my ode to the bakery and Dom, who is a gem of…read morean employee there. I've been a customer of almost 10 years and have been obsessed since they first opened their doors at a different location. I literally live an hour away without traffic and even longer with traffic, but I make sure to stop by or send someone else to get it for me at least once a month or more. I love the amazing cakes that are so delicious and unique but on top of that, it is Asian owned, LGBTQ supporting, etc. A lot has changed since their little storefront with no seating. The bakery is now a full on cafe and I'm so happy to see how much they've grown and how successful they are. And while it is glorious, I will say I miss the sweet neighborhood charm and great customer service it used to have. Getting in touch with the bakery through phone or text can be tough and to be honest, sometimes one of the people working there is kind of...very mean. It had me questioning if I should keep coming back. I just love this bakery so much though and being raised by parents that had a small food business, I can't help but want to support. I had a particularly difficult last minute request for the bakery a few weeks ago and I was reminded why this place is so great. It had been YEARS since I made this specific request, which was an order for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor. This is a BIG and time consuming request, especially if it's last minute. Unfortunately I come to the city whenever the traffic isn't atrocious, so it's always last minute. Dom absolutely pulled through though. Even though there were other employees there (I saw two others but one disappeared and then another male was kind of walking around the cafe and such), Dom took this giant request and fulfilled it himself. The other gentleman (not the mean person previously mentioned) was actually who I made the request to, but he told Dom to do it. I was kind of confused why they didn't do it together but idk, maybe the other guy isn't allowed to handle food? Who knows. Regardless, this request obviously took a long time and the line was getting longer; people were getting a little restless but Dom stayed calm but was swift. I swear he was moving faster than most people in the industry could with a cake knife like that. He was not impatient or rude to me at all. He was just there to do his job as fast and well as possible. It's so rare to see that type of work ethic. He is also so obviously proud of the bakery and the food they serve which makes you feel good about being a patron there. So although I continue to have an unpleasant experience with one particular employee there, Dom keeps my love for this bakery alive. He reminds me of what this bakery was like when they first opened their doors. I hope Dom is cherished there and I bet he is considering his work ethic. I will continue to support this bakery and I recommend everyone else to support as well. It may not be that small little shop anymore but Dom is a reminder of the heart of the place.

For my graduation cake, I chose the tres leches and it was so creamy, moist, and delicious. I basically ate half of the cake by myself lol. I chose to get the berry chantilly cake slice since it was a hot day, and it was the perfect refreshing treat! It was soooo good.

I initially wanted to get a dinner reservation, but wasn't able to snatch one up even a couple weeks in advance. Spontaneously, my friend and I decided to go for lunch a couple Sundays ago. The weather conditions weren't great as it was raining moderately. This probably deterred at least some people from lining up. I got there around 12 PM and waited for about an hour, which is still long, but not as horrific as I thought. I also ended up with the last breakfast sandwich ticket since the group in front of me decided it wasn't worth it to wait in line so they gave it to me. This basically was the sign for me to stay in line. The ordering process was pretty simple. We ordered at the counter and prayed that there would be seats opened. Initially, we made ourselves comfortable at the bar, but we were able to migrate to a table shortly after. Our drinks came out within a few minutes after ordering and our food came out within 10. 12 OZ OH, HOT YAM! - 6.85 Initially, this was the drink I ordered. However, I thought it was too sweet and didn't feel like the ube flavor was that strong. My friend liked it more than the drink she ordered, so we ended up swapping. ICED BLACK SESAME LATTE - 6.85 This was the drink I swapped for, and the iced version was perfectly refreshing and nutty. It also wasn't too sweet. I would prefer a roastier black sesame flavor, but this was good enough. LONGANISA, EGG, AND CHEESE SANDWICH - 12 The breakfast sandwich didn't love like it'd be anything special, but the bun was incredibly soft and fluffy, with a custard, soft egg. The longanisa was well-seasoned, with the sweet & savory flavors bursting after each bite. I can see why the breakfast sandwiches at Kasama are so popular. Would highly recommend if you're able to snatch one. PORK BELLY ADOBO - 19.50 This item is weekend only, so I had to try it! I also love a good adobo rice. Despite it being pork belly, it was surprisingly not too heavy or fatty. The poached egg mixed in made each bite creamier. The pickled vegetables and chopped scallions were a nice touch to add a bit of tang and aromatics. I did take home half of the rice bowl home to enjoy for breakfast the next day. While this was good, it was probably the weakest of the three food items we ordered. FILIPINO BREAKFAST - 19 +1 for combo (longanisa and tocino) My friend ordered this, which came with a serving each of longanisa and tocino, a bed of garlic rice, sunny side up egg, pickled vegetables, and garnish. I had a bit of both meats, and the tocino was definitely my favorite. It was juicy, a good mix of sweet and savory -- reminded me of the Cantonese BBQ pork belly. I would definitely order something with tocino upon future visit. This was a pricy lunch, but the food was good and tasted cleaner than I had expect. I had a great time trying brunch at Kasama and would love to visit for their dinner menu when I'm in Chicago again.

BREAKFAST: 10/10 pastries and breakfast. Excellent value, delicious pastries and excellent coffee…read more I especially liked the blueberry muffin since it's just the muffin too without the whole muffin. FINE DINING AT NIGHT: 5/10 rating. Considering Alinea is 2 stars and similarly priced, I felt like a few things were lacking. The first issue? I left very hungry. The whole meal lacks any actual meat except two pieces of bird, which are small. The other dishes were primarily seafood or vegetables. I left at 70% capacity of fullness. Regarding the actual food, the quality was solid and the ingredients were excellent. The caviar was delicious, although the design of the small bowl and big bowl made it very annoying if any of your caviar came out you'd have to lift the small bowl out to scrape it. The next seafood platter had fresh shrimp and the toast was excellent with the sour cream. Tasted like a potato chip! The spring roll was unique and required you to roll it up. It's small but packs a good punch. The cabbage with Wagyu barely had any meat, so it was just a bite. The soup was very delicious and hot in temperature. The mackerel is small but fresh. Very good soup. The pancake dish was very unique and enjoyable with the pork. My favorite was the crumb dish with mushrooms. The crumbs were delicious. There were a few small oysters in it. If there were a few chicken bites it would have been perfect. The ending bird dish was tiny. I expected the whole bird to be cooked and many more pieces, but it included two bites and one leg with mushrooms. I thought one or two additional protein dishes were needed. I was at 60% full at that point and it went straight to desserts. The croissant with truffle was delicious with honey. Could have eaten 6 of those. The banana pudding really felt like delicious street food. The frozen shaved ice was delicious with the chocolate underneath. The white chocolate dessert and cracker were light with guava. It felt like the meal heavily overindexed on dessert and not actual entrees. Overall, for 1 star and $200 range I would have given this 9.5/10. But for 2 stars and $325, with a comparison with Alinea and other 2 star restaurants I've been to, this fell short. Increase the food portions and decease the dessert volume. The staff are highly attentive and well trained. Dinner took 2.5 hours.

Let me tell you, it was all I hoped it could be and more. The storefront was pretty small with a few tables- between the size, hours, and popularity (they were only open a few days a week and closed at 2pm), I suspected that the shop sold out often. I went on a weekday and there was still a good selection of pastries left around 11am. The staff was super nice and helpful as I struggled to make a decision. They shared that the strawberry milk croissant was their bestseller, so I opted for that. It was filled with fresh strawberry mascarpone and fresh strawberry puree. Despite the croissant's decadent appearance, it was not at all too sweet. I'm not typically the biggest croissant fan (I know, I know, no one is perfect) but this pastry blew me away. The filling was super generous without overpowering the delicate dough, which was baked to crispy perfection. Sadly, I don't get to the area often, but I will 100% be back asap to try more of the menu. Run- don't walk to pay a visit!

I had such a hard time choosing, but knew I had to get the corn flake espresso cookie (SO FRICKIN AMAZING) the textures were elite, and the potato focaccia. The southwest hash brioche was friggin incredible. They were very generous with the sweet potato, WHOLE EGG, and veg. Like seriously, with the cost of groceries skyrocketing, I can't believe I got a whole bit of egg white and yolk. You must eat your goodies warm, the initial crunch had me in a chokehold. They also had a vegan focaccia which my friends appreciated. There's street parking and expect lines. Inside isn't super spacious, but the line does move. Bring sunnies and a book if you don't like to stand around. We got here before they opened on a Saturday morning and only had to wait like 15mins.
