I needed some cupcakes for a gathering, and I saw the reviews so I thought I'd give them a try. I got up early to be there when they opened so I could have a good selection. I was pretty disappointed when I got there and there weren't that many options. I was also surprised at how small they were. The decorative topping is very simple. Then, when they said they were $4 a cupcake, I was even more surprised. If I hadn't made all the trouble to get here and if I didn't really need the cupcakes, I would have gone someplace else. I thought to myself, these better taste amazing. I bought a dozen cupcakes and made sure I got at least one of each flavor. Once I got home, I dug into one, just to see how they were. Once again, I'm disappointed. They don't even taste fresh. WTH?! Now I'm regretting serving the rest of them, because what if they aren't good as well? So disappointed. I got feedback from those at my event and the consensus is these aren't good. All of the cupcakes were dry, crumbled and fell apart when you tried to eat them. What makes matters worse, the owners don't care.

The young lady that waited on us was friendly and helpful. The crowd wasn't too bad, I suspect it was the crummy weather that kept all the Ohioans inside today.

My standard for cupcakes are different than the general masses as I feel like the ENTIRE cupcake should be a complete entity taste wise and one component shouldn't outshine the other. For example, the toppings and icing they put on top of the cupcake is STELLAR but the actual bare cupcake itself tastes like one of those cakes box mixes like DUNCAN HINES, or PILLSBURY. The entire cupcake should be good not just one half component of it. Nevertheless they've got all different types of candies, bon bons, they bake wedding cakes, and host private parties so what do I know‍. I got the smoked salmon sandwich, maple butter latte, and a of course some macarons. My friend got the bacon onion quiche, chocolate pistachio feuillette, and a spiced apple matcha. Drinks were great. Both were creamy and tasty. I preferred the maple butter latte because it wasn't too sweet. I also wished mine came in a larger size. Smoked salmon sandwich was my favorite part of the meal. It was dill forward which was not an issue with me. The bread had a nice crunch to it. The cucumbers add a nice freshness that paired with the crème fraiche. I got a small tasting of the pistachio dessert which was rich but surprisingly made you want more. I like the nice touch of gold specks which made it very elegant. My friend enjoyed the quiche which was exciting to hear since they hate onions. They said they didn't even notice any. Can't wait to come back for some seasonal flavors Tip: Parking is a bit tough. Try to park a few blocks down since it's rare to find a spot right next to the cafe.

Well, if I'm honest there was this Amish stand at a farmers market in Central PA that had outstanding donuts, but they only sold them a few times a year and I have no idea how to find them! This trip, I got the big boy donut, a white icing cake donut, and a pretzel. The big boy donut is a huge glazed donut as big as your head. That's right, you can hold it up to your head and it will be just as large!!! This time, however, they put a twist on them and added icing to a few. I know, sweet on top of a sweet sugary donut seems like overkill, and it was. But come on, anyone willing to eat a donut as big as his head has no problem with something super duper sweet! The other items were equally good, and I liked their new larger location. They even added a few new items since I was last there like donut holes/bites. This place continues to reign as the donut king in my estimation, and the fact that they FINALLY accept credit cards now is a huge win.
