He has been telling me about his favorite German poppy seed cake that he used to get for every birthday every year, and I've desperately been trying to find it for YEARS. No one here has even ever heard of it. I called Mits Creamy Creations to see if perhaps they could help me out. Just like everyone else in the US I've ever spoken to, she had never heard of it. However, for the first time, she offered to find a recipe and told me she was willing to give it a shot! I was THRILLED! First time ever finding someone who would even attempt this cake. She had the cake done early and I picked it up curbside. It was BEAUTIFUL! But the real test was the next day when I brought my husband the cake. He. Was. FLOORED! In tears. It tasted 100% authentic and he said it is one of the best poppy seed cakes he has ever had. It gave him a taste of home he so desperately needed during this pandemic. It meant so much to him.
