Called into the business the day after Thanksgiving to find out if they had premade cakes to celebrate a birthday that same day and was given many options. I reserved a cake which was chocolate flavored with fresh whip and strawberries. Once at the establishment I paid and the baker decorated as requested in under a few minutes. This bakery is small yet neatly kept with an area that has decorative options and party extras. The service was quick and pleasant and I hope to return soon as the cake was delicious! i've been a cake express fan since i found out i was having my first child almost 12 years ago! this place never fails to amaze me, it used to be traditional 1/2 sheets i used to order with pics on the cake or they would fulfill my vision for any kid theme/baby shower cake that i had in mind. they have tons of options of filling/flavor to chose from, dont be afraid to try them! we love the banana with custard/chocolate cake, the frosting is light and not too sweet, it is soooo good, cake is thick and moist and sooo good. you can only do 1/2 and 1/2 for the 1/2 sheet cakes or bigger. they always have plain cakes on stand by for the last minute shoppers lol. I was really looking forward to cutting into my birthday cake and enjoying some strawberries and whipped cream. Well that didn't happen. I asked for extra whipped cream and didn't get it. The cake looked great on the outside but the truth is on the inside. There were maybe 8 thinly sliced strawberries in the middle layer of the cake. Only allowing for one skimpy strawberry per slice of cake, that's just ridiculous. It was filled mostly with strawberry glaze/jell. The whipped cream was so thinly spread I was surprised it held up.
