Still loving everything about this coffee shop! If I were local, this would be my go-to haunt (as…read moreit is, whenever I'm in Edinburgh, I take the train just to come here and then walk the beach). The large interior has an industrial vibe while still feeling warm and welcoming, the courtyard outside is a perfect place to enjoy some sunshine (the upstairs is only open on the weekend). Get a cold brew or an iced latte or an iced Americano with oat milk - it's so good! They also have a few bakery items, including a vegan banana bread that is DELICIOUS (one of the best I've ever had). It's a thick, moist slab loaded with nuts and dried cranberries maybe? There's just something "more" to it that makes it special. I recently bought beans (flavor notes of "jammy" and "honey"; it's SO GOOD), and it seems like I can reuse the canister for a discounted refill the next time I'm here! I believe they even grind them if you want. They also have some really cool merch (tote bags [I own], beanies, shirts, etc). #CoffeeAndSocialSolidarity

We came to North Berwick from Edinburgh for the day via a very easy 30 min train ride. Steampunk is located in the back of a building on the main street of North Berwick. It is sparsely decorated but the theme seems to be related to bicycles. We stopped in for midday iced lattes and a snack. The lattes were good and I appreciate their to go cups and straws are all paper based. The granola bar we grabbed did not impress me at face value but wow was it delicious. Like chewy granola with some cinnamon added in. It was the perfect sweet pairing to the latte. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating here.

There were a lot of things that made this cafe worth reviewing. Although, since loading it's…read moreinformation, I discovered it started out life as a florist - which explains the arrangements and floristy/homey things for sale in the cafe. The cafe's owner, however, opened on the dot of 10 when she saw two hungry day trippers loitering in the High Street; we'd actually been exploring North Berwick for about two and a half hours by then, so breakfast was something to look forward to. Disuaded from toast and jam by the knowledge I would probably smell The Beloved's bacon roll and wish I'd had that....we got two coffees and two bacon rolls. And it's worth the drive. No re-heated bacon here! Soft fresh rolls, tasty bacon (I still can't figure out how she cooked it that was different from normal!) and good mellow tasting but strong coffee. And all insanely cheap! Service was excellent, the shop section was cute and added a cosy, sweet, "tea at your gran's" sort of atmosphere, food was not haute cuisine (but who's looking for that first thing in the morning after beach combing?!) and the rhubarb sponge looked amazing. We meant to go back - and we were given a 10% off voucher for our next visit, so we just might have to head back down there on our next available weekend.....!

What better than Charlie's Cafe. Thanks to Kay L's previous review, I had this place in mind as a potential stop off and very glad that we did go in as it was lovely. Possibly the fact they were also doing a scone and cuppa special helped lure us in too, can't remember exactly what it cost, but I'm sure it was a bargain £2.50 pp. Warmed scones with jam and clotted cream, served up with coffee or tea and I'm positive we got free re-fills of tea and coffee! All this combined with an hour or so of gossip - perfect!

Plenty of space. The area looks very neat and tidy. More like a proper English village coffee shop Anyway the girls working there were very young. Not much knowledge of the area either. But that's fine. I ordered a latte and ginger bread and was quite impressed. The size of my cake piece was very spendacious. I can imagine customers are coming back for second portions. Literally they did on the day when I was there. They also do lunches, besides all the homemade cakes and scones. Prices are very fair. I also browsed their gift shop. Very nice candles they are selling there. It's a lovely country coffee shop. Stop there, if you can!

Lovely picturesque village. This is one of my Mum's favourite indulgement establishments! I love the Gift shop as it's chic and lots of things to pick and go ohhh! and AHHHH! at!! Cakes are all made by the owner and all fresh! Soups also are delightful on a cold winter's day. French presses come in mild, medium or strong and i always go for strong - keeps me buzzing until i get home! The cafe also do sandwiches and other edibles. It's small so it does get full rather quick. But have a browse in the gift shop and as soon as a table comes free the staff are please to come and fetch you. Nearby is ... DUNBAR (I've reviewed the Dunbar Community Bakery on the main st and it's a catch! Grab an eclair or fantastic sausage rolls ((or both)) and head to the harbour for a beautiful seascape! and SMEATON - Smeaton Garden Nursery - is a beautiful little but well established nursery with a lots of delightful finds. it has a tea room too where you can get a bite to eat and a good cuppa! It's situated in one of the old potting sheds!
