Happy birthday son. Great lunch choice.

We came here with our boys to have a nice lunch together. The 2 ladies working up front were very friendly and very helpful. The place is clean and has a nice atmosphere. There were couples and families there. So, it's a good place for a date or a get together. The food was very good. We'll be going back soon.

Cajun Claws (Oakland, CA): Dipesh from Cajun Claws & Savannah (Yelp Elite Member)

I visited Cajun Claws in Oakland, CA [1951 Telegraph Ave] on Saturday, 03/28/26, around 7 PM. I was honored to come to this restaurant during the soft opening. For dinner, I ordered the "Boil Your Catch" option, which allowed me to customize a seafood boil bag. I got the 1lb of shrimp peeled off with the 50/50 sauce (garlic butter sauce + cajun sauce), medium as the spicy level ("Cajun Current"), sausage, potatoes, and corn. I must say that the sauce was extremely flavorful and complemented all of the fixings of the bag. My taste buds were dancing and I was completely satisfied with the overall taste. The service met expectations. I had the pleasure of being served by Dipesh. Dipesh was super attentive, sweet, and kind. I loved his friendly disposition and hospitality, which enhanced the entire dining experience even more! I was able to take a photo with him, too! The indoor ambiance was beautiful. I loved the spectacular decorations. The inside just had a modern take and it was just so inviting in general. Thank you, Cajun Claws, for the incredible food, marvelous service, and a positively energetic team of people. I will be returning here whenever I find myself in the Bay Area again.

Saturday evening I've decided to give this spot another chance since found this place to have its own potential but boy i was wrong. I've placed an order online for mix and match along with other items but soon realized that it's be more worth to order a combo if I were going to add additional toppings such as corn, potatoes, and sausage. I'm not upset at the woman who took my phone order that could've recommended me the combo instead of my individual orders. I called back within seconds after my order and I was connected I told the manager that lied to us about being unable to accommodate us, which is surprising. I've worked as a server for over 10 years, and his behavior was absurd--being unprofessional on the phone, then only offering a 10% discount for over $20 in additional toppings, which now raises red flags about management's training. I don't feel comfortable dining here given potential food safety issues and the restaurant's incomplete setup, despite ordering takeout for months. I wanted to support this new Cajun boil spot, but it's underwhelming, and I prefer going to San Jose. I've traveled across states for seafood boils, and this experience is disappointing, especially in today's economy. Charging $72 for 2 lbs of shrimp with only a 10% discount is frustrating. He claims a $10 credit for the next visit, but that's just 10%--which implies spending $100. Honestly, I won't be coming back.

The Shrimp Po' Boy (5/5) and Cajun Fried (3/5)

Uptown, just a block up from Fox Theatre has a new place to eat in what used to be Roam Burgers and a Nashville Style Chicken Restaurant. Cajun Clams specializes in seafood. My review is based on my lunch order of the Shrimp Po' Boy sandwich. The sandwich, which comes with a choice of fries (regular, Cajun style, and shrimp style). I had the Cajun style fries and they pretty much tasted bland like salty fries. They weren't bad but I would have expected a stronger Cajun flavor (3/5). The Shrimp Po' Sandwich on the other hand was very good. The fried shrimps were lightly battered and they were decent sized shrimps. (5/5). This place is new and as you can see has a nice fresh looking interior. Service is reliable and friendly. Look forward to coming here again and trying their other dishes.

Served with smiles and laughs. Great vibe from the staff. Food and drinks were amazing and came out swiftly. Loved it here wish we had one of these in San Diego.

So good when I tell you very season seasons, perfection not overly season not to under season the good quantities I'm talking about more than you can finish. Customer service is amazing. They're very polite. Sonphi & Aariya made me feel so welcomed!! You don't have to wait on anybody. You have a button on your table that you could call for somebody to come serve you you don't have to ask for the bill you push a button. The bill is brought to you. The ambience is amazing. You feel like you're really at a pirate ship or something. It's like all the crabs on the wall and the net just gives a good feeling that you're really in the Bayou eating some good seafood boil I'll go try them out. Went twice this week !!! Try the GUMBO!!

Food was amazing. Service was quick and attentive without being too much and the owners clearly care about the establishment and the quality of their food and setting.

Parking is a bit difficult but we managed to find street parking a block away. Wasn't too crowded and there was plenty of seating inside. You order first and you find a table to sit, and they bring out the food to you. Self serve water is available. The food came out pretty quick! Thoughts: - Lobster roll (classic) was delicious! Generous amount of lobster. Would definitely get this again. Chips weren't too great though. - Fried shrimp basket was nice. Shrimp was crispy and tasty. Fries were also very crispy and flavorful. The sauces go well with the shrimp/fries. Coleslaw isn't the best though. - The crab nachos were surprisingly good. A nice cheese sauce combo with pico/avocado crema and a good amount of crab. - Garlic noodles were fine, nothing standout about them. - Mix and match basket with catfish, cod, and calamari (not pictured): Catfish was solid (would highly recommend, one of the favorites of the meal!), but would pass on the cod and calamari - a bit dry/fishy. Would recommend for a casual spot for seafood and a nice view!

Anyone remember the Jack London Village that they tore down to build this end of the development? Anyways - this is a fast casual type spot, where you order from the counter, place the little number sign on your table and wait for it to be delivered. The menu is your standard seafood joint by the water type, with all the usual suspects represented. Fried fish, shrimp, chowder, seafood pastas--if you've ever been to a seaside seafood joint, chances are good that the menu here is exactly like the one you remember seeing at the countless other places like this one. I noticed right off the bat that their pricing structure was on the high side - with a $17 burger and fries option, with the bulk of the fried seafood options in the $22-25 range. A cheaper choice might be the $16 fish tacos (two of them) but I kind of draw the line at paying $8 for a single taco. Our table ordered a few of the fried options plus a few soda beverages. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and I noticed that the silver metal trays that the food comes on is a bit on the small side, especially considering the prices for each dish. The fried shrimp dish was a big scoop of mega-salty french fries, and 3 average sized deep fried shrimp. Yes - 3 as in 1, 2, 3. That's what - $7+ a shrimp? The two fried fish platters weren't much better portion-wise. My deep fried cod consisted of three modest sized fish-fingers, and not the single luscious chunk of perfectly fried cod I had imagined in my head when ordering. They were fine - but very average and nothing that stood out as life-changing or something to write home about. As mentioned earlier, they must be employing the Little Rascals method where they over salt everything, in hopes that you'll order another beverage to wash down the copious mounts of sodium (I figure about 4+ days worth). The fried catfish platter that rounded out our order was more of the same - thin meager portions of fish on a large bed of mega-salted fries. Small plastic containers of generic pre-made tartar sauce and coleslaw can with each platter. The coleslaw was fine - just very forgettable and perhaps a tad on the flavorless/watery side. All said, was it okay? Yes. Was it anything outstanding that I'd crave and plan my return to have again? No. It is in line with touristy by-the-Sea seafood places that charge an extra couple of bucks because they're "on the water"? Pretty much. You're paying for the view and the 'scene' of sitting on the patio out front to people watch, and not for the food. I kind of hate these places and normally try my best to stay away from them, but every once in awhile, you gotta put on your tourist hat and join the mindless flock. A meager 2 stars outta 5 from me. Instead, I'd stroll around this area on a Sunday when they hold the farmer's market (again - is not what it used to be) and then drive through the tube to Alameda where great dining spots are numerous on Park Street. You can stop at Crab Cove and Crown Beach on the way, for more touristy sightseeing.

The restaurant space is well-lit, has plenty of indoor seating and seems suitable for a date or casual get-together with friends. My partner would give the food a five-start rating for its simplicity, generally flavorful, with spicy sauces and THE BEST guacamole! He had the Korean spare ribs and mash potatoes. He found the ribs to be fall-off-the bone tender, with potatoes that were more whipped than mashed alongside a carrot puree. I, on the other hand, had the New York Steak and au gratin potatoes. Though I wanted to enjoy my entree, I found the New York Steak to be unfortunately chewy and with too much fat. The au gratin potatoes could have had more crispy layers but tasted mediocre. Though I'd only rate this first experience with three stars. the service staff DID win us over and could potentially be the reason I'd be open to giving it another try.

The Boquerones was also delicious... the oysters were all fresh and can be ordered with horseradish and hot sauce (I think it was Crystal). Our table ordered a mix of oysters, garlic noodles, Cajun fries, shrimp, crawfish, mussels, which came with corn, potatoes, sausage and hard boiled egg! The seafood was fresh and the sauce coated everything nicely without being overwhelmingly salty, and the corn and potatoes soaked up all the seasoning. All for a very reasonable price if you get the combo, which comes in 3 different tiers! For the prices on this menu, I would expect service to be a lot better. We waited in line to be sat (no waiting list, just an old school line) and it took only 10 minutes or so to be sat but it was very bizarre, we were a party of 2 ready to be sat & she took the couple behind us and sat them first. An oyster holder was delivered to our table after we had already finished oysters. Glass was broken near our table and hastily swept up. Bussers were dropping silverware right next to our table. Again, just wasn't great ambiance or service. The food is good but there are other good restaurants in San Francisco. I would really only come here again with low service expectations.

Ok, I know that's like comparing Zuni's roast chicken to Costco's rotisserie chicken so to put this in perspective, Sirene's fried chicken is double the price of Ad hoc's. I don't mind paying for great food but for the price, I expected the fried chicken to be drop your draws, bomb.com. More on that later. Sister resto to The Morris in the city, Sirene has earned strong praise for its seafood, fried chicken, and thoughtfully curated wine program. By day, the same space also operates as a café serving coffee and pastries. Reviews for both concepts are combined under a single listing. Rezzies are highly recommended for dinner service. They have a lovely back patio perfect in this weather we've been having. D R I N K S * Sipsmith Gin & Club Soda ($14 x2) Stiff and nicely carbonated. F O O D * Big Eye Tuna (4 pc-$18): https://tinyurl.com/5n8bz2hu Great palate opener, the fresh tuna was served in a light citrusy sauce. * Sea Scallop Crudo w/ yuzu, almond vinaigrette, bee pollen, caviar ($21): https://tinyurl.com/y8ec2ehz Clean and delicate, with a buttery texture and a subtle pop of umami from the caviar. * Santa Barbara Purple Uni ($25) Fresh, sweet, and briny. * Pizza w/ shrimp chorizo, charred broccoli, raclette ($25): https://tinyurl.com/3ta4dy87 Love the leopard spotted, chewy crust and the creamy, mildly nutty raclette cheese. The shrimp chorizo tho? Underwhelming...it was hard to tell whether they were aiming for a Spanish or Mexican style, but it came across as bland. * Fried Chicken w/ choice of one side (2 pc -$25): https://tinyurl.com/4bpryc3m Considering the hype and that the fried chicken took up 1/4 the menu, expectations were high. It came out unusually dark and the batter was hard as a rock on the first bite. I asked if that's their style and was told it can vary, and they kindly re-fired it. The re-fire looked better, but it still wasn't for me - the crust remained hard on the teeth and the white meat was dry. - Side: Octopus Kimchi - I thought the kimchi would be a nice acidic contrast to the fried chicken but it was an incredibly sour, salt bomb. - Mashed Potatoes ($6) - Decent, creamy and smooth. - Biscuit ($6) - While small, the warmed biscuit was lightly crisp on the outside with a soft, tender interior and a buttery, slightly tangy flavor. * Fish & Chips: Ling cod, piquillo pepper aioli ($25): https://tinyurl.com/bdftrdc6 Redeeming the fried chicken, the fish was light and flaky with an airy, crispy batter. It came with a generous pile of hot, crunchy fries and a piquillo pepper aioli that added a smoky, slightly sweet, tangy finish. * Buttermilk Ice Cream ($5): https://tinyurl.com/4hbp5629 My fav part was the buttery shortbread cookie. I think they accidentally added too much salt, as the buttermilk ice cream was salty. S E R V I C E Wonderful hospitality from the manager, David. Food service was prompt with well-paced courses. A M B I A N C E Lively, casual bistro with exposed bricks, amber lighting, and wood-fired oven. P A R K I N G Street parking was relatively easy for an early Sunday dinner. Overall, I can see why Sirene is popular in the Oakland food & wine scene. Def worth a visit if you're looking for modern, elevated California-inspired cuisine paired with cozy, neighborhood vibes.
