Stopped into Cairngorm on our way to the airport and was so pleasantly surprised! It felt like I was transported to downtown Los Angeles and the coffee tasted like it too. Really cool place with really good coffee, highly recommend!

The new Cairngorm Coffee co branch :-)

The 2nd branch of Cairngorm Coffee co. just opened and it looks great!!! The cakes and sandwiches look very tempting, but since I already had my lunch, I thought of trying their mocha: well, £3.20 is kind of premium price, the flavour was great though. It was interesting to see they had mini iPads for customers to use - only the Safari browser (no sharing functionality allowed), so you could browse there instead of your phone. The cafe is very bright with windows all around and with pleasant music :) I think I will go back to try their food and cakes as they looked very tempting!! All the best guys!

Large, bright, airy! Even on a slightly humid, grey, drizzly day. A complete contrast to its sister store on Frederick. Good Life beans roasted in Helsinki, two beans on pour over and two on Espresso.. They'll have a filter on too once it stops shorting out the power to the rest of the cafe. Good selection of sweet treats and sandwiches made in house. The all important free Wi-Fi if you're looking for somewhere to work for a while. Bathrooms are down some narrow stairs so not great for accessibility. Hope they do well here!

So with Brew Lab setting the trend to open a second branch in the West End, Cairngorm have a brand new beautiful shop in a fantastic unit down this end of town. It's very different to their other basement shop, with the new sister being huge, and completely window fronted. Natural light floods in, even on a grey, Edinburgh day. They've gone for the Scandinavian decor throughout with clean lines, and open spaces that really compliment the airy feel. Hanging plants are pretty much the only additions, and i absolutely love the feel of the whole place. They've also included their installed iPads like their other place, which I think is a great touch to anybody wanted to access their free wifi on a bigger screen. The only reason why it doesn't get the full five stars that I've already given to the Fredrick Street version, is because our coffees just weren't as nice as usual? I'm not sure if they opted for a different bean here, but I just prefer the taste of their coffees at their smaller place. Nothing against them, just personal taste.

Extremely well ran, great staff and excellent coffee products. I didn't try the pastries but they smell delicious. Two thumbs up

Coffee was solid nothing fancy just good coffee. The almond croissant was a little chewy could've been fresher but still tasty.

Strumpets - Gluten free orange & almond cake

This coffee shop was a delight. It was conveniently located near the flat I was staying at…read more The woman who was attending was very kind and attentive. The macchiato was made properly and the beans were of good quality. They do have seating in the back but I didn't check it out. The store front is very well put together. They also have a good selection of baked goods. The lemon blueberry cake was very nice. Definitely a repeatable experience if you like good coffee.

I want to sit and smoke a pipe in here while solving great mysteries (which, if you can't deduce,…read moreis a complete and utter compliment). Strumpets is the newest addition to an already packed West End roster of coffee shops - so much so, that it sits directly next to another cafe. I'm not sure how that will bode for their future, but it gave me a giggle nonetheless. I've been off the ol' coffee lately, so when we popped our heads in here, I opted for orange juice. Pricy for the bottle, but unlike my recent grumble about cafes charging £3+ for standard tropicana, the fare offered here is on the higher end of the juice scale and seems a little more justified in its crazy price tag. Regardless, I would happily throw down £3 again to sit in their ridiculously adorable back room! With ornate chairs, a pretty little window seat and well picked antiques - it's like stepping into a lady Sherlock's study. I'm a BIG fan. It's TINY - three spaces to sit, all of them no more than two chairs - but on a quiet day, it would be a great place to work from... it positively screams world domination! However, if it's a bit cramped, they do have one slightly larger table out front. The owner is super cheerful and the baked goods look interesting. They do crumpets on Sundays, which is a nice touch and duly noted, as it's an easy stop on the way home for me. I'm nervous for this place, because I'm not sure it has the oomph to keep up with some of the big gun cafes now residing in the West End, but I hope i'm wrong - because this little spot wins on charm alone.

Oh my goodness! Everything looks amazing from the happy…read morecolorful window to the amazing baked goods. I love that Tasty Buns is a bakery on Bread Street. I adored the lime, poppyseed, and blueberry roulade! It was gone before the soup and toastie sandwich arrived. Crispy on the outside and so very soft and tasty on the inside. The cookie pie was impressive, but I honestly liked the roulade so much better. The soup today was broccoli and it was delicious! I had a ham and cheese sandwich lightly grilled in a panini press. Mom had a chorizo sandwich. The ladies at the bakery were lovely! Friendly happy folk always make food taste better! The bakery was quiet and not busy at 12:30 pm. It wasn't empty, just not busy. We got a table for 3! It was funny (and also a sad commentary on humans) that the still water available said "Please turn the tap off." Silly people. Thank you so much for a wonderful lunch! Mom said very good! Very different!

My very first time I came I tried a vegan cinnamon bun. It was warm, soft, and had that sweet caramelization from the sugar on the bun. It was soooo good. After that, I kept coming back about once a week to grab a treat and sometimes a drink. Everything I've tried has been so delicious and the staff is always very kind. If you follow them on Instagram they even sometimes release what goods are in the shop since they switch it up! Tasty Buns definitely became a go to of mine and I think there is truly something for anyone with a sweet tooth!
