In every place they should be so nice and gentle as in this place. Then, we had to eat something. Problem! So many choices.. We decided to buy three bagels and just share. Otherwise I could never have made a decision. You order at the counter and then they will bring it to your table. So that's what we did, we found a nice table within this weird but awesome decor and waited. The decor is something you or you don't. It's a mix of everything. I love it, it gave a good atmosphere to the place. Besides that, it distract you for quite some time. It makes waiting much easier. Before you know it your food is already there. So the food, the most important of a review. I liked it. Although it wasn't very special tough. The bagels where freshly made warmed up at the spot. The juices where also freshly made and had a choice out of many. Just a good place to hang out with friends. Besides the bagels they also have a variety of homemade sweets. Try the one with Oreo, you will eat your fingers!

The inside is super cosy and mimics the Berlin, retro I-can-afford-expensive-but-cheap-looking-furniture style, which, these days, doesn't say much in Berlin anymore. At first glance the cafe doesn't look like anything special, but when you take a second look you start discovering. They have an array of bagels, best ones I have had in Berlin, vegan tartes and cookies, freshly mades juices, and delicious bircher müsli (a big bowl only runs for €2,50). The staff is also friendly and even though the place is always packed, you can still carry a conversation, All in all I was pleasantly surprised and will be back super soon for the bircher müsli!

I bought my tickets in September and the hours had changed by November and we showed up with no service for the lift. Although we came back the next day I wasn't totally impressed. There is a portion of the berlin wall up there that is beautiful. the maps outline the city nicely however the DB building is in the way of the best view of the city. There are iron bars that go all the way around and don't really give you a good view of the city. I thought there would be a viewing deck with glass or plexiglass wall to see the city but there was not. We stopped in for a coffee and snack before we left but after standing at the bar for a few minutes we were not served and we left. I liked that it was self guided (no limits on time or space). If you have the money it's worth the few pictures. We went back the next morning after we were turned away and there was a thick fog over the city. The coolest things to view are brandenburg gates, jewish memorial and the new jewish synagogue

The setting is decidedly Instagrammable with neon signs, reclaimed wood furniture, and wildflower centerpieces. Service is always quick and very kind. Best of all, though, is the free and unlimited Wifi that makes this cafe a great place to sit and get some work done, especially with other like-minded students from HTW just up the river. If you're not trying to concentrate on your laptop, the Kranhaus is also a great spot to relax with a snack and their chilled out/classy-feeling Jazz playlist. Best of all, it's located in the base of a crane that used to unload cargo for the factories along Wilhelminenhofstraße, so you get an interesting mix of history in the space. The downsides are that the furniture is a bit eclectic and can sometimes be uncomfortable, especially to sit at with a laptop, and sometimes it is difficult to locate a outlet to charge up. That being said, it's often easy to find a place to sit and let the afternoon go by. Thank you Kranhaus for helping me maintain my sanity.
