Our choices for dinner (day before reservation) were seating at 6:15 or earlier or 9:15 or later so reservations well in advance are recommended. We started with cocktails (& they had a few creations) & had a "Buried in Sand" and a "Holy Mule-" Both excellent! Our server was helpful & made some wonderful suggestions once she found out it was our first visit. All the dishes (small & large) are great for sharing. As it seemed a staple of the menu (that changes daily) as well one of their specialties we decided to start with the Bastard Planka. A nice variety of house cured ham, salami, chorizo, pate & pickles-one of the best I've ever had. Also ordered the Klemmings Oysters as our second starter. So fresh, salty & exquisite! For main we ordered the Cod & the Munka Pork (as Pork is their specialty). Cod was cooked to perfection and the Pork had a crust that took it to another level. Both dishes were amazing! We finished with the Pistachio Ice Cream and Paris -Brest. Loved them both but the Paris-Brest is a must try! My only regret is not getting here sooner. Wonderful vibe with great service! They also have a bar area (open kitchen) where you can grab a seat to try some of the entrees or just have a cocktail, beer or glass of wine if they are fully booked. Will definitely be back. Michelin rating well deserved!

Once you find that, it's past the graffiti, up the stairs, and through an unmarked-and-nearly-invisible door behind you. Once you get inside, it's a different world. Giant wooden beams support the ceiling, oil lamps provide gently glowing illumination, and Berkeley / San Francisco-grade hipsters weave between the tables, dropping off plates laden with braised mushrooms, mashed potatoes with leeks, and lamb cutlets. I went for the venison, with whipped potatoes and berry compote. The venison was past tender into soft --- good, but not what I was hoping for. My wife got fish, with a salmon-spinach souffle, some fennel, shrimp, fried potatoes, and a good helping of creamy sauce. We started with a soup --- translated for us as "like carrots, but white," which we think was parsnip --- that was creamy and rich, but still nicely light. The house red wine was good --- but the house white was absolutely amazing. You have to try it. The meals were quite good, but didn't manage to be as memorable as the experience;

The first 2 courses (halibut and soup) were amazing and refreshing. The main course (my colleagues had cod and rib eyed, not pictured). My brisket was nicely cooked but nothing surprising. I tried the mushrooms on top of my colleague's rib-eye, I enjoyed the mushrooms more than the protein. Quite pricey as stated by other reviews...especially if one doesn't want mixed couse meal.

Luckily, we were able to make a reservation for dinner for the next day! There is an option to go for a la carte or a pre-fixe menu of 4-6 courses. We opted for the 4 course which had a cured haddock, mussel soup with scallop, a stuffed cockerel and dessert. I paid the supplement to upgrade the main to a Hake. Overall, the food was delicious; the ingredients tasted fresh and paired well together but nothing was mind blowing. We did think the mussel soup was a bit too salty. I particularly liked the Hake, which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside (I had Hake a few days prior and it was on the drier side so was a bit worried) - and particularly enjoyed it more than the cockerel! I also really liked the dessert - there were so many components to a simple looking dessert and everything was so tasty :) Service was just okay. The one thing to note is that they charge a service charge for credit card which isn't clearly stated on the menu anywhere. When we saw it on the bill and asked the waiter, she didn't seem to be fully understand it either but it is what it is

The cheese foam bottom is reminiscent of a whipped, light sour cream and adds depth to the light fish. The shaved asparagus and fingerlimes add the perfect touch of crunch and acidity - Witch flounder, so delicate and mild in flavor, the purée adds depth to this dish while the bread topped outside creates structure.I've never had such a light piece of bread topping Love the garlic dollop and radicchio topping. Incredibly well thought out food - locally foraged and harvested ingredients. A beautiful bounty of Scandinavian ingredients, manipulated with the utmost precision. Chef presented several of the courses - inspiring to hear the descriptions from the creator himself and he was so authentically engaged when we peppered him with questions. At the end of the night it was a bit challenging getting a taxi back - even Chef got involved in the process. The humility and graciousness, stunning. All memorable and fantastic. Chef Alan Bates was pretty good in conversation. But, the food just didn't hit the mark. I was there lunch time and ordered 5 course menu (they only have that for lunches, otherwise you can go for more traditional 9 course menu). The trout tart looked beautiful, didn't have much of wow factor in taste though. The pasta dish was good with ton of truffle shavings. The main meat dish was not at all there. I mean it was cooked nice but there was a side of tempura made from pig-brain if i remember correctly, and it was pretty bad!! Not fried well, was chewy and the fried batter coating got badly stuck on my teeth! Dessert was good.

Our server Christian was super nice and recommended a rhubarb and citrus soda made locally in Denmark. He even called over to the other restaurant to let them know we were coming and then sent one of the cooks to make sure we didnt get lost in the trees. Now that's crazy good hospitality.
