Quay dining with ambience. This was our last night here , so the grilled Octopus with boiled potatoes and a salad. Red wine and a cold beer. So Porto!!

It was our last night in Porto and we had gone on a food tour during the day so I didn't think I'd be hungry, but it turns out...I was. This place had some old reviews where they were hammered for their service, but we were seated quickly and had very friendly waitresses. The view of the Douro River made for a nice meal. We started with a nice Caprese which was delicious and we both ordered a Porto Tonic which was also very refreshing. For our main meals Wifey had the steak with coffee sauce (it was like a gravy with a coffee reduction mixed in) which tasted great...however the steak was a little rare for her liking. I had the Squid ink pasta with prawns, tomato, olive oil and oregano. We didn't linger too long since there was a line to get in, but I could have sat there for another hour enjoying some drinks and the view. I will note here that this place is a bit pricier than most of the other places we had eaten, so keep that in mind for planning purposes.

You are here for the view and the vibes. Service is prompt although this place is busy. Can't speak about the food, just drank. But definitely a good spot to watch the sun set on the river!

Decent food albeit at a bit higher price point than many of the restaurants in the area that are not on the riverfront. Location on the Douro reviver front is good and a huge plus but the slow service and poor follow up definitely detracts from this restaurant. Overall I give it three stars where location and OK food is offset by slow service and lack of follow up. I would definitely look around at other restaurants if you are hungry and looking for some quick food as this ain't the place for anything Rapido (one of the few Portuguese words I learned on this trip)!

Visiting in the middle of summer, Porto riverfront is busy. All restaurants are busy all the day. Also hard to getting seating for a group of 9- lucky enough we were seated within 15 minutes on the bar side with limited menu but our hostess noted if we wait and not order- she can move us on another shared table. The view is beautiful. You are right at the main level of the riverfront with no obstruction of the view. Menu has good selection of food. Food is good and ok but can't beat the view. The drinks are amazing. Service is great. Grilled octopus and garlic shrimp is amazing. The beef sandwich is ok. Must make room for Dessert and coffee. Pasion fruit Mojito and sangria were awesome. Clean bathroom. Clean restaurant.

A very tasty and strong gin and tonic! Just what the doctor ordered!

Excellent food and service. The mixed drinks were fabulous too (and strong!!). After reading the reviews not sure what to expect but we decided to give it a try. So happy we did. Loved the atmosphere, food, views and just about everything. We will be returning for sure (especially for that delicious green wine)!

I paused here on my way to Mitsu for dinner. The atmosphere is welcoming. This is a great place to pass the time and enjoy the view.

My visit to Cafe do Cais was focused on the libations rather than the food. What I liked about it was they delivered the drink quickly and it was very good. Of course the best feature is that you right there on the water's edge and can watch all the people and boats. I give this place a high rating for ambience.

Easy spot to grab a drink right on the river. French fries are great. Very affordable. Friendly staff. Pay as you order, so you can come and go as you please. Wonderful.

Sorry couldn't wait to cut in to this...

Beautiful view but it was the worst food and wine I've had in Portugal. And the wait staff barely acknowledged my existence.

Maybe we just got unlucky? The franceshinas were delicious, and really hit the spot for late-night food. The lombo de porco and bifa were both fantastic. It sort of reminded me of a Croque Monsieur, but also very different. I loved the Port wine-based sauce. Very saucy and soggy (in a good way). Service was a bit slow. We were worried about running into closing time, but it turns out they just don't accept new guests after closing. There's no rush to finish your meal if you're already inside.

Upon arriving, I realized I was learning Brazilian Portuguese which is slightly different from what was spoken here. I was hungry. It was dark out. I wanted to try a Francesinha. Then I found this place nearby and decided to order pick up because I was too nervous to eat there. Walked about and said Olá! The employee was so NICE. Gave me my order. Said a bunch of things in Portuguese super fast that I did not understand. I smiled. Nodded like an idiot. He smiled. Said enjoyed. I walked back to my Airbnb and opened my bag. The Francesinha looked divine. Took a bite. AMAZING. Took another bite. Fell in love. Took a third bite, this is not helping my high cholesterol for sure but I'm gonna keep eating. 5/5. Go here.

So I didn't try any of their *food* food, which seems to be a focus, but they're definitely providing a great service to anyone in the area who needs some quality morning coffee. 4 euro for an oat milk latte is a pretty great price, and it was a great latte. Since I was there and saw that they also sold pastries, I also got a filled croissant for 3 euro, which made a great breakfast - the croissant itself, honestly, was just good, but the cream filling was fantastic. p.s. if you're just here for a to-go coffee like I was - there's signage around, or at least was when I was there, that makes it seem like they only have table service, so I awkwardly saw at a table until they told me I could absolutely also order at the counter, especially if I was ordering to-go.
