The last time I had a crepe I was surrounded by co-workers in Belgium on a Friday (I remember it was Friday because a few of them liked to conserve water and bathe only on Saturday....so the funk was so think you could dip a chip in it). It was dry, bland and pretty much put me off having crepes for nearly 13 years.
I've passed this little place a few times on my way to the local shops but the memories of Belgium made me walk around it like I was avoiding some doggie land mines. Tonight however, the missus just HAS to have some. So in we go.
There's 6 tables in this little cozy place and I felt instantly at home. We sat down and we were given a menu with 20 different crepes, some savory some sweet. I ordered a duck one and my wife ordered a 3 cheese one, with my daughter getting a sweet maple syrup one (canuck communion wafers). The portions were monster and I quickly dug in.
I can't believe I've avoided having crepes as a food all this time! Not only was my dinner one of the best I've had here on the island but my wife and daughter's meals were both damn tasty as well. This place would be making a killing in downtown Vancouver and from what I hear, it's a favorite here too. Do NOT miss this place if you're anywhere near the Quay or on your next trip to Tesco's. You're likely going to see us there again if you do. 17 more crepes to try! read more
