There are a range of delicious options throughout the day. There are delicious fries, filled soda and scones and tray bakes for a lovely breakfast. There are a range of sandwiches and soups for lunch and then a wide range of options for dinners. There are the usually options like burgers, chicken Maryland's and other popular dinner options, and a range of changing daily specials which will include pies, steaks, meat specialties and roast dinners. The roast dinners are brilliant, with wonderfully prepared veg and generous portions of chicken and ham. The deserts here are also great, with the sticky toffee puddings and jam sponge and custard personal comforting favourites. Nothing in here is groundbreaking at all, it is just done really really well. Bravo!

Proper home cooked chips and wedges, lovely fresh veg and good sized portions. The best fry you will get anywhere, great value for money and extremely tasty. There are seats downstairs and 2 separate parts upstairs, AJs has expanded well over the years. I have heard the homemade desserts are amazing but I've ways been too full after one course so never got around to trying them. Sometimes the staff can be a bit huffy if you ask for anything to be substituted especially on the fry but they will do it. If you're ever out this way AJs is the place to try.

To be honest I had never really considered eating here. JJ has a canteen vibe to it, everything from the red trays you collect your food on to the plastic seats. It's bright and airy inside and there's loads of seating. If you're not with kids you might want to sit towards the front of the café to avoid the play area. I ordered a Caesar Wrap and a flat white. On ordering the chef came out of the kitchen to tell me that they didn't have any lettuce and 'was rocket ok?' - at this point I was so famished I would have eaten weeds so that was no issue, but I liked that he came out to tell me. When the wrap came I was shocked about how packed it was, chicken was literally falling out. Even the presentation was top notch, which I had not expected. The wrap cost £5.25 and was worth every penny. The service was great - from the server to the chef they were amiable and helpful. One tiny negative was that they were slow to clear tables but it was busy and there was one lone server who was concentrating on feeding rather than clearing which is understandable. Overall Jumping Java is a perfect High Street pit stop if you want to dump your kids in the play area and get a bit if peace and quiet or if you want to take advantage of their free WiFi.

It is just another coffee shop for middle class mothers to sit and catch up with their friends. There is nothing the matter with that, but it just isn't for me. There is a wee play park in this place which I guess is great for the clientelle that they are looking for but as far as I'm concerned I'd rather have some good music on or just somewhere to sit and do my crossword. Nothing the matter with this place, although it is a little bit pricey.

The old faithful menu has not changed for quite a while, but that doesn't matter because we always order the same thing anyway. One night, we bravely decided we all had to try something new and guess what?...the other options on the menu are good too! The owner of the restaurant is often there, ensuring excellent service from the staff. They have been undergoing a recent revamp, with new wallpaper and decor bringing what was becoming a tired interior much more up to date. The extremely generous portions mean that we rarely have a starter or dessert, and on average our spend (including corkage and tip) is around £16. I would give the restaurant 5* if they would attend to the bathrooms...often a little unpleasant.

It is also bring your own drink which I like because you save a good bit of money not having to buy drinks in the restaurant. The staff are also very friendly and would do anything to make sure you have the best experience and I would definitely recommend papa joes to anyone who wants to have a nice meal out in Bangor.
