We made a quick stop at Foundry Bakery and ordered a wide selection -- everything was delicious…read more We tried the milk bun, lavender yuzu berry cookie, egg tart, black sesame panna cotta, pineapple gem, orange bun, berry trio walnut bread, and the cronut. Not a single miss. The biggest standouts were the lavender yuzu berry cookie and the berry trio walnut bread. The cookie was incredibly well balanced -- floral, citrusy, and not overly sweet -- and easily one of the best cookies I've had in a while. It's also a pretty large cookie, so good for sharing... or not The berry trio walnut bread had great structure despite being packed with nuts and dried fruits -- really thoughtfully baked and especially amazing toasted. Overall, Foundry is a really great bakery. Absolutely worth the drive to try something new, and I'll definitely be coming back.

They are thoughtful about using the best possible ingredients for their customers. Every fruit tea is made from real fruit and not powder and artificial flavors. Things are no where near the sweetness of other boba tea shops. They use ceremonial grade matcha and every piece of bread that we tried tasted not overly sweet and extremely fresh. They are truly the definition of mom and pop shop that cares about their customers.

I was looking for someplace new for lunch and a friend recommended, Cafe Nova. When I lived in STL,…read moreI drove by numerous times and always told myself I needed to check it out. Well, I no longer live in STL and I am finally checking it out. Now that I have, I am pissed at myself that I didn't try it sooner. I stopped by for lunch and enjoyed a Nova Gyro that was served with a side of fries. For a minimal up-charge, I had them add Feta Cheese to mine. When the Gyro arrived, it was super huge. It was so big, I could hardly pick it up to take a bite. I ended up eating part of it as a salad with a fork until I could finally pick it up and eat it like a true Gyro. The gyro meat was well seasoned and tender. It was smothered in their house made tzatziki sauce and wrapped in a warm Pita. The toppings were plentiful and they were; sliced red onion, shredded crisp lettuce, cucumbers and vine ripe tomatoes. Adding the Feta Cheese, was a wise move. It added, an extra Greek kick to the Gyro. My glass of Pinot Grigio was a perfect accompaniment to my lunch. With it being super huge, I took a third of it home and made a salad out of it for dinner. The only negative, is their take home vessels are styrofoam and not eco-friendly. The service was attentive and friendly. My server was training a new gentleman and think he's going to do a great job. I'm already thinking about a return visit, because I need to try the baklava. I mostly order to go from here however (especially in the winter) as their inside dining is a little smaller. The food is always consistently good and their Caprese is one of my favorites in STL. The family that owns it is always so nice (especially the mom and son) so I love supporting this small business. If you are a coffee lover they have the best Arabic style coffee and flavors that are worth going for on their own.

Seriously. You guys…read more I'm a big fan of the Protagonist café and the antagonist café. I finally had a couple of friends in town and had the opportunity to visit pieces. First of all, the owners really did an amazing job with the renovation. Keeping some of the original charm and making this a really great space tailored for hanging out and playing games, including outdoor space. The bar area is totally awesome and I think that I would go there alone to sit at the bar. Something I don't normally do, but the bartenders seemed totally friendly and accommodating, as did all of the weight staff. Our table form arrived right at opening so it wasn't busy. But, soon, it got super busy as it was Friday night. I have to stay that. I love the crowd here - it's so diverse. Everything from a nerdy gaming crowd, dates, friends getting together, and a group was using the meeting space back in the corner. All was lively and jolly and happy. I will definitely visit again due to the atmosphere. I'm not really want to go out to bars, but this place is so accommodating and diverse. The food wasn't as amazing as I would hope but I do think that the menu is big and there's something for everyone. The table did enjoy the house made wontons and sauce. A few of us had bowls, one of us had a buffalo chicken wrap and they were all just OK. We did split the barbecue chicken quesadilla and I think that we all agreed that it was the best thing we had. I am excited that I have found a new place in Soulard and I can't wait to go back with my spouse as a date. This place is an absolute gem. Oh, I also wanted to mention the service procedure. It's totally in genius. You have little colored sticks that you used to show the weight staff that you're either ready to order, ready for the check. That way they don't have to interrupt your social gathering or gameplay.

There is a lot of street parking around the area. I ordered a Hightail which is a cannabis-infused drink. I ordered the "Whose turn is it?" It's a cherry and lime flavored drink, and the cannabis taste was very slight. I tasted it more in the aftertaste than in the actual drink. For food, I ordered the Thai Chili Vinaigrette Salad as a wrap and added chicken. It was delicious. It was refreshing, sweet, and had the slightest bit of spice. The chips on the side were crunchy and salty. All of the staff were attentive and friendly, which added to the positive atmosphere. I didn't play any board games, but I'd love to come back!

But other than that that's the only complaint that I have. Friendly staff, amazing food and drink. I love the lotus crepe as well as the barbecue chicken, I have to admit I could eat one of those about every single day of my life. I loved the banana bread espresso. There's four shots in it so just FYI. Maybe don't drink it after 5:00 p.m. like I did but it was still worth it. The ambiance of this place is absolutely adorable with a rich emerald colored green chair and couch with nice cognac colored armchairs, and a nice fireplace at the head of the cafe gives a cozy and warm ambiance as well as the beautiful Christmas decorations that they had while I was there made it a place that a lot of people wanted to hang out. There were at least six other tables with friends and family just chatting which honestly led to a really nice sense of community which a lot of places in America don't have. And I found this place to be absolutely lovely and worth every penny. A true gem to Oakville!
