We were walking outside of the city center looking for a light lunch and wine. We each had one glass of wine. They were good if unremarkable, but less than 3 euros each. We shared a mixture of three cheeses between baguette with a side of fries. This was quite tasty, well presented, and again inexpensive. My friend and I stopped in for breakfast one Saturday morning at around 10. Cafe Amandine is located right by the Dancing House. The restaurant was pretty packed already, with only a few free tables remaining. Luckily, we were able to nab one of them. I really wasn't looking for a big breakfast. It was at the end of my week-long Vienna/Prague trip, and I felt like I had been eating relatively unhealthily, so I wanted something healthy for breakfast. I went with the oatmeal, fresh fruit, and yogurt. It comes with a small portion of each, as well as a small basket of bread. I finished everything (except the bread) and was pretty stuffed, but I felt really good about what I had just put into my body. Plus, I don't normally eat oatmeal, but this one was enjoyable, especially when eaten with the jam that came with the bread. The yogurt came with some granola/pumpkin seeds, which was a very nice addition. The meal also comes with your choice of fresh squeeze orange juice or grapefruit juice (this was super tart), and a coffee of your choice. I opted for the macchiato and it was the perfect drink to wash everything down. All of this food came out to only about $11 USD. Everything was fantastic, until it came time for the check. We asked our waitress at least two times and waited for a while until she finally brought it out. But, I will give her the benefit of the doubt because she did look super busy, while another waitress just stood around and looked on. If I ever find myself in Prague again, I'd definitely come back to Cafe Amandine. My only regret is finding this place at the end of my trip. read more

Café Amandine is a cute French pastry cafe in Prague's center. It served as a nice rest stop while sightseeing with a small group of friends. We all sat along the wall and were served coffees and an array of baked goods, including delicious croissants. The coffee was strong and smooth in all its various forms that we tried, and it was warm inside. Their bathroom was clean. Prices were fair. Service was okay -- average for Prague. It wasn't a totally memorable place, in that I wouldn't think "I must go back one day!" but it was an overall pleasant experience. I'd recommend it for a quick visit if you're looking for a break from the typical chains and happen to be walking by. read more

Tres francais. If you want a piece of Paris right in Prague (and many Prague residents do) you can either go to Patisserie Paul or you can come here. You get a fine execution of a good French cafe - and the cook is willing to innovate to show he is not just following formulas. My salad Nicoise had only one token anchovy - but a lot of marinated string beans and red/yellow pepper. It was a fine salad Nicoise. The love of the life had French cafe goes Portuguese - salmon served right out of the can on a crispy baguette. (Serving good canned fish in the can is more Portuguese than fado.) The espresso was decent although not marvelous. Nothing is more authentic for a French cafe then to have ho-hum espresso. Going to Prague does not make me want to see girls in can-can skirts, or watch men in berets bicycle home with their baguettes. But for faux French this was a respectable meal. read more

It offers brunch deals for $365 korunas including: - 1 glass of sparkling wine - orange or grapefruit juice - choice of omelette, scramble eggs or Benedict - basket of bread with homemade jams (incredible taste) - homemade pie - choice of coffee, tea or hot coco (winner) Service is good, outdoor sitting is great for a sunny day and the food is outstanding. If you are not feeling like eating eggs this morning no worries! They have assortment of choices such as fruit, fresh baked croissants, crepes, blinis and more. Quite nice atmosphere here, very French. Beware they close at 10 pm, but stop serving food at 9. Maybe that's a European thing? Anyways, the lemon crepes were delish, as was the cheese plate. Croque Monsieur was the best I'd ever had, hands down. Service was a little slow, but could be my American expectations. Good food. Good prices. Can't go wrong. read more

If you are in love with Paris like I am this is a no brainer. Walk in here and you feel like you have been teleported to Paris in an instant. The interior screams classy and sophisticated. Servers are quite nice and friendly, but do not speak english so come prepared if you do not speak czech! Here I had a delicious cafe latte, a vanilla eclaire, also delicious and a hot apple cider. Everything was with the freshest ingredients and the pastries were all homemade. Very impressive since there is a wide range of them available, made fresh daily. They do have a breakfast/lunch menu consisting of the typical french panini sandwichs, a soup or two, a few salads and that is about it. I am hesitant to give 5 stars because I am not super impressed by or happy with the menu here. That does not mean that this is not a great place though! I just can't way it is the best of the best for eating real food. Surely not a place for a proper meal or dinner, just light lunch or snacks. Either way I really loved this place from the inside out, and can say for sure I will be back for more homemade pastries! read more

I liked this place a lot, even though they didn't have a sandwich I wanted and one that I got was not what I expected :) still, the lemonades there are just awesome. They are in carafes and with small cuts of various fruits. Taste is very good and refreshing! Atmosphere of the place is very French)) comfortable chairs, sofas, and everything is kind of Art Nouveau :) I would recommend this place for coffee/tea or drinks only. Do not expect to have a proper dinner here, only if you are not a fan of French cuisine. read more

Excellent place for a long Sunday breakfast. There are many drink options and pastries on display but we opted for full breakfast. There are about six types each consisting of coffee/tea, fresh juice and number of pastries or egg dishes. Just perfect to sit, talk and enjoy tasty morning food. read more

Sometimes, their lunch menu and especially the soup are also good but it is not really a place for dinner. I have been here also to a couple of private events and when it comes to these, the place is also amazing. A very charming place to have desserts and coffee. They have a huge sweets selection beautifully displayed, making it hard to choose just one. I was there for one of the last days of lavender festival. I had an amazing lavender lemonade. They also had lavender cookies on offer, but I didn't try them. Their sandwiches are always reliable. I had the croque monsieur and my friend ordered a tasty looking roast beef sandwich. Minus one star for painfully slow service and prices which are a bit high. read more

The interior is very beautiful, the place is decorated in charming French style and has a very nice cosy atmosphere. The level of service is good, meals and drinks are delivered quite fast.
