Decided to try this place since it was close by and I never been before! Everything took long to come out so 20 mins later the bread and appetizer finally came and how am I suppose to eat with no fork and knife? Just my hands? So my friend had to ask for utensils! Then I ordered a blueberry mojito then they tell me they have no blueberries so they can try putting blueberry vodka instead to substitute with the rum I tried it and didn't like and it was too strong for me so end up ordering just a regular mojito instead. The antipasto wasn't what I was expecting I thought it was gonna be a salad underneath but looked more like a charcuterie board so that was disappointing! This is a lovely Italian eatery in Apopka that is a great choice for couples or large parties! I was curious about the division between the caffe and bar area but never figured it out other than the caffe part where we sat only offered wine and no beer or liquor. They serve bread with an oil, balsamic vinegar and garlic spices mix to start. Our party ordered the eggplant rollitini; chicken, clams and linguine and a salad with house dressing. The only complaint we had was the lack of seasoning and sauce consistency/amount of the clams and linguine dish. The dish has potential to be incredible. The food is excellent, I lie everything they serve so far.. the chicken, the pasta and the salads. Haven't had dessert but I will eventually. Besides. Pasquale, the owner is so nice and courteous. We usually sit outside when the weather is pleasant. Their pizzas are the best. I usually get the medium pizza with pepperoni and my sister has the ham and mushroom pizza. The crust is firm and there is plenty of cheese. Never disappointed. I get a house salad but I am disappointed in that as they never put enough lettuce and barely any tomatoes. We had an amazing experience last night at Cafe Positano. We had the amber fish special which was caught fresh the day before and the shrimp. Both were fantastic! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The manager is friendly and personable. I had a mixup with my order online and my CC information. Even tho it was extremely busy, the staff (Genesis) treated me like a priority. The manager resolved the issue quickly. The food here is very, very good and worth the drive. Beyond the great Italian food, there are very few high-end steak restaurants that offer filet mignon as tender, perfectly cooked, and marinated, as well as Caffe Positano. We generally eat there every Friday and sit at the bar and converse with the great bartenders and friends that are regulars. We have found no other restaurant with a better ratio of quality food to value anywhere! I happen to know that they make fresh mozzarella. daily and use imported Italian canned tomatoes for their sauces. Also, it is only one of two restaurants locally that I will eat fish at, as the owner is a fanatic about fresh, high-quality fish that is always cooked to perfection. I had heard good things about this place and was looking for a place to meet family. A friend who lives nearby raved about the pizza so we decided to give it a try. The space seems divided into three kind of areas: a to-go area, a casual dining area, and a bar area that seemed a little more upscale. It was busy when we arrived but we were seated promptly. We were given menus but had to ask for a pizza menu which is separate and silverware and plates were only set for two even though there were four in our party. Our server was prompt and attentive, but service overall seemed kind of inefficient. We were given delicious rolls and butter followed by one more set of silverware and a plate. We were still short one setting, but a different person made a separate trip to bring one more plate a few minutes later. We ordered a couple small pizzas and an eggplant rollatini. Our food was delivered in a similar manner: one item, several minutes later another item, and then the rest a few minutes later. The food was very good, especially the pizza, however the menu available in the restaurant was different than what was posted online. The eggplant rollatini dinner was tasty but kind of a small portion and the menu online said that it came with soup or salad which it did not. Overall, the food was good but I would probably get takeout next time. They have a refrigerator in the to-go area with meals, soup, and dessert packed to go at reasonable prices. The crust, sauce & cheese are the perfect blend for our go-to takeout dish. Had a problem with an order (ppl make mistakes right) & without asking Mgr. Well at first the restaurant was decorated nicely the smell of food cooking was good took awhile for sever to come take our order my wife and I ordered and while having our appetizer and drink waiting for the main course noticed across from us a man carrying a little fluffy dog talking to people in a booth and they all took turns petting the dog he stopped at some more booths so they could do the same Now I'm not a dog hater at all I have had them all my life but I do know that they don't belong in a restaurant of course unless they are a service dog and by that I mean a real service dog not the ones that people pretend to have and you know who you are anyway I asked the server why the guy was allowed to do this it is against the Florida health code dogs are only allowed outside patio areas he said that the man was the owner and of course like everybody else makes the excuse that the dog is hypoallergenic which I informed him unlike popular belief there is no such thing as a 100% hypoallergenic dog I know what some of you just said yes there is a poodle or other well your wrong look it up so I informed him we would not be back because I really don't want dog hair in my food and if the owner is that stupid to bring the dog in for people to pet who knows where the dog has been so just before I wrote this I informed the board of health of this to protect other people from unwanted and unknown cross contamination now for the people who say service dogs are ok but not his pet well service dogs are not petted so the hair flies around in the air and they are always perfectly obedient and do not wonder they are a necessity to people who have ligament mental or physical impairments and I am glad we have them in closing to the owner don't be stupid and for the rest of you people who think you can take your dogs every were you go grow up you weirds get a life take your dog for a walk outside not in a grocery cart or clothing stores almost forgot when you do use a cart put it in the cart areas don't leave in the parking lot have some consideration for others property you lazy people. read more

went here about a year ago and the eggplant parm. was delicious. I ordered a take out last night. I placed my order on line. I added a salad to my entree of the eggplant parmigiana also garlic knots. i was highly disappointed. there was one slice of eggplant with a hand full of noodles for 17.00. The cashier said there was never a salad ordered. the garlic knots were so cold even the butter had harden. It's been a while but I made it back to Cafe pasitanos tonight, in business's for atleast 20 years, I've been here with dates, family from out of town, parties, or just a casual pizza night. The service, atmosphere, and food are all above average. Recipes and ingridients are fresh and the live music and a large dining room with indoor and outdoor seating is usually quick to seat. The antipasta, garlic knots, salads, or homemade mozzarella are all my favorite appetizers, the pastas are hand made and all delicious. I digress, tonight was just Friday night to go pizzas and knots, the premium toppings here hit the mark. Prescuito, artichokes, roasted or cherry peppers, all available at positanos. They also have to go frozen entrées that I need to remember about during busy weekdays. Positanos is a wekiva gem and I hope they keep it up for another 20 years. read more

It was obvious when entering that the employees are close and enjoy working there. It seems insignificant, but it makes dining much more pleasant when servers don't seem artificial. The food was excellent and quite different than other Italian places. We started with half a dozen garlic rolls which were huge! And drenched in oil and garlic, oh my gosh they were AMAZING! I was full before we even got our pizza. The pizza was hand tossed which at some places makes it less filling. However, here the crust was still dense and heavy which made it just as filling as a pan pizza.
