Decided to try this place since it was close by and I never been before! Everything took long to come out so 20 mins later the bread and appetizer finally came and how am I suppose to eat with no fork and knife? Just my hands? So my friend had to ask for utensils! Then I ordered a blueberry mojito then they tell me they have no blueberries so they can try putting blueberry vodka instead to substitute with the rum I tried it and didn't like and it was too strong for me so end up ordering just a regular mojito instead. The antipasto wasn't what I was expecting I thought it was gonna be a salad underneath but looked more like a charcuterie board so that was disappointing! I was curious about the division between the caffe and bar area but never figured it out other than the caffe part where we sat only offered wine and no beer or liquor. They serve bread with an oil, balsamic vinegar and garlic spices mix to start. Our party ordered the eggplant rollitini; chicken, clams and linguine and a salad with house dressing. The only complaint we had was the lack of seasoning and sauce consistency/amount of the clams and linguine dish. The dish has potential to be incredible. But the true star of the night was the house dressing. You could put this on anything and make it delicious honestly. Jar this up and sell it! read more

Only giving Cafe Positano a 3 star because at least the service was very good on April 10, 2025. I have never had good luck in this restaurant I've been coming here for many years. For some reason my friends like to eat here because it's local for them so I don't argue and don't like to offend people that take me out to dinner on their dime. The food is just adequate. I ordered the special which was pork medallions on rice. The pork was dry and the rice was greasy. I'm sorry that I did not exchange it for something else. With 3 boys I have frequented this restaurant many many times over the last 10yrs. Their pizza has always been our favorite. Today we ordered an extra large pepperoni pizza and six garlic knots. Well here comes shrinkflation! Like I said, I know their product well their XL is now their old large (not to mention the pizza was so overdone we can hardly bite through the crust) the six garlic knots used to hardly fit into the to go container and now they were comically small. The flavor of the ingredients was amazing just like their typical. But unfortunately, they will be removed from our order list. Really sad for a staple business in our area. read more

We usually sit outside when the weather is pleasant. Their pizzas are the best. I usually get the medium pizza with pepperoni and my sister has the ham and mushroom pizza. The crust is firm and there is plenty of cheese. Never disappointed. I get a house salad but I am disappointed in that as they never put enough lettuce and barely any tomatoes. The first word that comes to mind is average. There is nothing special or offensive here. I ordered chicken francese. Maybe I should have went with pasta or pizza. The chicken was okay. It lacked flavor. The vegetables were not cooked enough and needed salt. However, the fried potato cake that came with it was wonderful. My daughter had cheese pizza. It was pretty good. Perfect little Italian authentic restaurant in Apopka/Hunt Club! We've been ordering from here for about 7 years. Not sure if it's family owned and operated but it sure feels like it is. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The manager is friendly and personable. I had a mixup with my order online and my CC information. Even tho it was extremely busy, the staff (Genesis) treated me like a priority. The manager resolved the issue quickly. The food here is very, very good and worth the drive. We had an amazing experience last night at Cafe Positano. We had the amber fish special which was caught fresh the day before and the shrimp. Both were fantastic! We were treated to a nice conversation with the owner and he introduced us to some really good wine. This was our second visit and the food was excellent both times. So happy we found this place a few years ago. This is our go to for good home style family Italian food. The place has the vibe of a family owned classic Italian American restaurant, because it is. We have tried several dishes and they all are good. I always get linguini with clams in red sauce and pasta fagoli soup. Always good size portions, hot and freshly made dishes. I had heard good things about this place and was looking for a place to meet family. A friend who lives nearby raved about the pizza so we decided to give it a try. The space seems divided into three kind of areas: a to-go area, a casual dining area, and a bar area that seemed a little more upscale. It was busy when we arrived but we were seated promptly. We were given menus but had to ask for a pizza menu which is separate and silverware and plates were only set for two even though there were four in our party. Our server was prompt and attentive, but service overall seemed kind of inefficient. We were given delicious rolls and butter followed by one more set of silverware and a plate. We were still short one setting, but a different person made a separate trip to bring one more plate a few minutes later. We ordered a couple small pizzas and an eggplant rollatini. Our food was delivered in a similar manner: one item, several minutes later another item, and then the rest a few minutes later. The food was very good, especially the pizza, however the menu available in the restaurant was different than what was posted online. The eggplant rollatini dinner was tasty but kind of a small portion and the menu online said that it came with soup or salad which it did not. Overall, the food was good but I would probably get takeout next time. They have a refrigerator in the to-go area with meals, soup, and dessert packed to go at reasonable prices. We generally eat there every Friday and sit at the bar and converse with the great bartenders and friends that are regulars. We have found no other restaurant with a better ratio of quality food to value anywhere! I happen to know that they make fresh mozzarella. daily and use imported Italian canned tomatoes for their sauces. Also, it is only one of two restaurants locally that I will eat fish at, as the owner is a fanatic about fresh, high-quality fish that is always cooked to perfection. The service, atmosphere, and food are all above average. Recipes and ingridients are fresh and the live music and a large dining room with indoor and outdoor seating is usually quick to seat. The antipasta, garlic knots, salads, or homemade mozzarella are all my favorite appetizers, the pastas are hand made and all delicious. I digress, tonight was just Friday night to go pizzas and knots, the premium toppings here hit the mark. Prescuito, artichokes, roasted or cherry peppers, all available at positanos. went here about a year ago and the eggplant parm. was delicious. I ordered a take out last night. I placed my order on line. I added a salad to my entree of the eggplant parmigiana also garlic knots. i was highly disappointed. there was one slice of eggplant with a hand full of noodles for 17.00. The cashier said there was never a salad ordered. the garlic knots were so cold even the butter had harden. Lots of young energy fills this local hot spot. We recently moved near by and visit this plaza often, if not for the gym then for ChickFilA, ofc. I haven't paid the place much attention bc if I don't see it on Yelp then I usually don't bother but Boyfriend mentioned it which is always good because he's a creature of habit. I took his suggestion as a means to try something new, which is rare, especially in regards to pizza. Lots of young energy fills this local hotspot. It was obvious when entering that the employees are close and enjoy working there. It seems insignificant, but it makes dining much more pleasant when servers don't seem artificial. The food was excellent and quite different than other Italian places. We started with half a dozen garlic rolls which were huge! And drenched in oil and garlic, oh my gosh they were AMAZING! I was full before we even got our pizza. The pizza was hand tossed which at some places makes it less filling. However, here the crust was still dense and heavy which made it just as filling as a pan pizza. Overall, we were highly satisfied with our visit and we definitely intended to visit more regularly. read more

Pictured here, lovely review readers, is what was named the "jumbo shrimp special" when in fact these "shrimp" eat and taste of lobster, surpassing the humble prawn and taking the form of a colossal langoustine. The temperature and freshness from store to my door were eat in quality. I legit manifesting this experience by inquiring about a creamy seafood pasta to satisfy my weeks long craving, as there is none listed on the menu, Ricky (sp.?) navigated me to this pasta glory upon inquiry of the nights specials. An indulgently generous portion gargantuan shrimp, fresh linguine pasta, real mushrooms, garden spinach and chopped tomatoes bathed in a delicate lobster cream sauce with 4 homemade rolls ok the side for sauce sopping?! I couldn't have picked a better day to win. I'm not selling it but I also want you to win. Next time I choose a calzone to win again. Im thankful to the chefs and to Ricky for this masterpiece.
