Wow, i cannot believe i would pass this place for years before trying them out! We were craving REAL Italian food and I found this place only 3 minutes from home. As soon as we walked in everyone was so welcoming. From the owner to the bartender to the musician! We felt so welcomed and at home. The food was so good! I could feel how fresh and authentic everything is made. We ordered the margherita pizza and a pasta that was recommended. I will definitely be back many, many times and I hope you do the same!!! Service seemed a little slow. They brought us 3 rolls, as usual, even though there were 2 of us. So, again, why can't we have 2 rolls each? My wife asked for 1 more roll so we could have an even number... and they brought us 2 more. So now we have 5 rolls for 2 people, which still isn't an even number. When the waitress came by to get our drinks, she said they were short-staffed today. This is actually the second time we've been here on a Saturday afternoon that they said they were short-staffed. So did people not show up to work or are they always short-staffed on Saturday afternoon? The food was very good as usual. I actually got a dinner portion and it was very filling. The waitress came by to ask if wanted some Parmesan cheese. But then after that, she didn't seem very attentive and I had to ask the owner/ manager to tell the waitress that I wanted a drink refill. He brought it back instead of the waitress. When we were done, we still didn't really see the waitress. We had to ask another waiter to ask our waitress to bring us the check. When she finally brought it, I noticed a "Total (Cash)" and "Total (Non-Cash)" price, with the non-cash price $1.50 more than the cash price! So they're charging customers extra for using a credit card? How many people carry $50 or $75 cash to pay for lunch? I thought merchants accept the credit card fee as a cost of doing business. The waitress brought a credit card machine to the table, so I paid there. I asked her for a printer receipt and she said she'd be right back. After a few minutes, I saw her taking an order at another table. What happened to my receipt? So, needless to say, the food was as good as always, but the service was bad and I don't like getting charged a higher price for using a credit card. read more

I was craving Shrimp Alfredo and ordered it to go. The person answering the phone and handling my order was very helpful and had great customer service. The food was delicious, although the shrimp tasted a little mushy inside. I think the next time, I'll ask if they could blacken the shrimp instead. This dish ran me about $27 dollars, which is pretty steep, but they are advertised on the building as "fine italian dining". However, when I walked inside, it resembled a pizza shop. I was expecting a little more for fine dining, but nonetheless, I could see myself splurging here a couple times a year. The BREAD, however, was delicious! We came here for an early dinner. We enjoy this restaurant because our meal is always delicious. The booths are comfortable and service is excellent. We ordered chicken Marsala, chicken Francese, baked manicotti, with fresh vegetables and warm hard rolls with butter. For drinks we ordered a Diet Pepsi, regular Pepsi, and a small bottle of flat water. We had an awesome meal and great conversation. Service was slow at the bar, there was only one bartender. The food was good, but there was a long lapse of time in between my salad and my entrée. I know back during Covid and probably a year or two after that some restaurants were giving you a surcharge if you used credit card or a debit card. I love this place. We go all the time and it's always good. Went yesterday about 2:40 and the sauce was soooo salty. The food just wasn't good. I'm sure it was a one off because that's not the norm. My family comes here often for pizza and wanted to grab some when I was in town on a visit so we ordered ahead and went to pick it up. The inside is cute but very busy, it was a Friday night so understandable. They have fridges when you walk in full of desserts and pre made meals to heat up that looked delicious. While we were picking up our order, one of the servers came up to the cashier and was chitchatting with him (while he was ringing us up) and then jokingly told him to eff off. I'm sure they are just friendly and joking around but it seemed weird to do that right in front of the customers. We love Positano! We regularly order pizza and garlic knots and they're typically so good. Consistency has been a bit of an issue lately (since they changed the pizza sizes). The crust has been somewhat disappointing since then. That said- Generally, pizza is great. The calzones are also really good (but also inconsistent in size). read more

If you're reading this review, I'll save you time: my reaction to this restaurant is meh and overpriced. Overall, the food was bland and not seasoned to bring out much flavor. My spouse ordered a Tortellini Alfredo, and my son ordered the Chicken Alfredo; both dishes were gloppy, and according to my son, the chicken was spongy. I ordered an Angel Hair Aglio Olio (not on the menu) with a side of marinara sauce. It wasn't terrible, even though the pasta wasn't al dente. The marinara sauce was overly sweet, so not much to my liking. The roasted garlic was a nice touch. For side dishes, we ordered the spinach and broccoli. The side dishes didn't seem freshly prepared and had sat too long in a warming pan. A high point of the meal was the Garlic Knots, a clear winner! The service was adequate and a bit of a comedy routine. Patron: What's the filling in the Tortellini? Server: I don't know. I'll have to ask. This is a 50/50 question: meat or cheese? Patron: I'll order the Angel Hair Aglio Olio. Server: What's that? Unbelievable, we're at an Italian restaurant, right? Went to get a pizza for the second time to give it another chance. Save yourself a visit the pizza crust lacks flavor, we ordered the Roma pizza and it was like a grease pit on top of the cheese. We chose to eat inside the restaurant, however the service lacks big time it takes forever to get your drinks and to place your order. Why is it that some of the best Italian places are in older shopping centers? Caffe Positano is AWESOME for the quality of service and food. No, it is not a dazzling interior--but the bar area has a modern flair and the entire place is comfortable. Good selection of house wines and a basic list of wines by the bottle. The cocktails really are the feature here. Must gets: the garlic rolls, either plain or with cheese. Pizza is a big deal here and takeout orders are a constant. But that business is effectively separated from the cafe seating so it is not a bother. Pasta dishes are spot on--we tried a linguine chicken dish with hearty red sauce and a penne pasta with a rich cream sauce. Both were generous--enough to take home. Why the 5? The comfort level is off the charts, friendly casual vibe but they are downright serious about the food. As good of a "neighborhood" Italian as you find in the South. read more

Oh look I went out to eat again! We had a group of nine and Chad took such good care of us! We each got something different...I believe 4 different pizzas, one chicken parm, a couple of the specials which I don't remember. Spaghetti and meatballs....those meatballs were huge! Everybody dug into their meal before I thought to get any pictures. While mine was delicious I would have liked it cooked just a bit longer. No real complaint tho. My mom had been here once before and the experience stuck with her enough to take us. The atmosphere is amazing and loving and loud just like an Italian families house should be. For some reason my friends like to eat here because it's local for them so I don't argue and don't like to offend people that take me out to dinner on their dime. The food is just adequate. We also ordered a large pizza with pepperoni, meatballs and fresh garlic. Also well done. This one was also cooked perfectly. With 3 boys I have frequented this restaurant many many times over the last 10yrs. Their pizza has always been our favorite. Today we ordered an extra large pepperoni pizza and six garlic knots. Well here comes shrinkflation! Like I said, I know their product well their XL is now their old large (not to mention the pizza was so overdone we can hardly bite through the crust) the six garlic knots used to hardly fit into the to go container and now they were comically small. The flavor of the ingredients was amazing just like their typical. But unfortunately, they will be removed from our order list. Really sad for a staple business in our area. read more
