I know there've been quite a few entries about this place, but I can't help but let you know how I feel about this place. So please, do read on. I promise to make it worth your while. First off, make sure you go there on your birthday (especially if it happens to fall on the weekend, like mine just recently did). Why? Simple: The food is on them! That's a savings of € 14 right there. I just so happened to read the menu from front to back, and bahm - birthday surprise. Just make sure you bring your valid ID. Second, I find the service amazing. For the amount of people they have to serve during their busy brunch times (a plus on their brunch times as well: 11.00 to 15.00) you are always greeted with a smile. Most importantly though, I think the food is delicious and the quantity and quality certainly worth the money you spend. Compared to other places, not only do you have a buffet style selection of everything and anything, you can also choose from any style eggs - be it scrambled, sunny side up or a scrumptious omelet (which is hard to find in Austria, especially if you are used to the variety you get in the States). For people who are not into their eggs or breakfast per se, you can also choose from 1-2 different soups, main dishes that consist of meat and veggies and some sort of pasta mostly, and last but not least dessert. What's a brunch without the dessert I ask?! Nothing! Another plus I'd like to mention is that they usually serve cute little pancakes with the sides of either chocolate or vanilla pudding or some sort of rice pudding. To me, life is good at Caffee Latte. So go join them for brunch but make sure you reserve in advance, especially once it gets colder and you can't sit outside anymore. I live a stone's throw from this place, and it's one of my default cafes if I can't decide where to meet a friend, especially in the summertime (they have a very nice courtyard with outdoor seating, which is covered and thus tends to be cooler.) While I've had one bad experience with the service here (and it was really bad!), every other time I've been (which has been many), the service was pretty good, especially for Vienna. I've only eaten here a few times, but my memory of the food is that it was pretty good (I had a pesto dish - I'm crazy for pesto). When I was taking German classes daily, I'd stop by for a caffe latte to go for €1,50, although I usually drink cappuccinos. Speaking of... In Vienna, "melange" appears on menus right above, below, or in place of cappuccino, and it's the Viennese version of a cappuccino (identical beverage, just by another name, although some places put whipped cream on their cappuccinos, which is then the distinguishing factor.) Well, at a handful of places - very few, but Caffe Latte happens to be one - the cappuccinos are bigger than the melanges, so stick with ordering a "cappuccino" if that's the drink you want (it's the same here - no whip, just bigger than the melange, for the same price). read more

Caffé Latte sits on the ever-so popular Neubaugasse street facing the start of Siebensternstrasse. If you are planning to come here for Sunday brunch either make a reservation for a table or be like me and my husband and take a chance to come here without one (we were lucky to get a table!). My idea of a typical brunch is scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and pancakes, but of course this comes from growing up with American food. Here at Caffé Latte in Vienna, there is a whole array of Austrian and Mediterranean foods that you can enjoy. Several tables are lined up in one row in the middle of the room with a variety of breads, vegetables, cold/cured meats, cheese, fruits, then croissants with sides like nutella, butters and jams. There was also hard-boiled eggs, muesli-type cereals with milk and Mediterranean foods like fresh Greek salad, and falafel. Over at the back of the room were other foods like beef tartar with horseradish, red sauerkraut, and desserts such as (what looked like) a cookie-brownie, then a soft cake with raisins with toppings of chocolate sauce and/or vanilla sauce. You can eat as much as you want for the price of 13.90 per person. Drinks are extra and must be ordered either through your server or at the bar. I got to enjoy a fresh pressed orange juice while my husband ordered a carrot juice. Overall, the brunch was nice and an interesting find. After some recommendations, we came here for breakfast. The options were plentiful and varied. Finally, the one with brie won and there was no regrets. The food was quite good and plentiful. The only complaint I have is that if you want to sit at the window side on a nice warm morning, you are forced to deal with smoke being blown at your head from a table behind you. However, this is Vienna, and I guess one must accept the smoking indoors to an extent. read more

Very nice place, I went there for lunch several times and it's been great very single time. Food is very good and the waitresses are friendly. I don't care so much for their interior design, especially the one in the back, smoke-free area seems slightly dark, but there is a garden to sit outside, so this is a minor problem in summer. After a while of walking, looking for a place with just the right menu to fit the needs of 5 people, we found this place. The ambiance is lovely and the service is great! I tried the chicken Marsala and a burger. The chicken Marsala was good, but I preferred the burger. Having cream cheese on a burger is not something you'd normally see in America, but it sure was yummy. The portion sizes are shareable. I'd recommend getting a dish a person if youre really hungry though. Also, the prices are great. I would recommend this place for locals and tourists alike. read more

My absolute favorite coffeeplace in town! It's name is nothing without typical caffee latte they serve. I reckon it's the best. A coffeeshop with lounge. That's how I like it! Dj-ing every friday and saturday from 10pm. Happy hour from 6-8pm, the kitchen serves food till 12mn with wide ranges of snacks, main dish which is absolutely FRESH-made, preferrably the baguettes oh my god i'll die for the mozzarella pesto baguette they serve fresh from the kitchen, very juicy, crispy and WARM (v.i.)(not like other coffeeshop who displays their food from the container and not even bothering heating them). They offer breakfast till 3PM(!)so if you woke up at 2pm, it's not really a problem at all! And the best of all.... WLAN FOR FREE!!so you peeps could just bring your laptop, sip from your coffee and surf the internet as long as you want. Prepare for your birthday and come over to this place, you'll be served with the whole menu .. of course for free. ;) one more thing, I couldn't think of ANY other place who has the nicest, most politely, generous waitresses i've ever been. Came to CaffeLatte with some friends for a lunch date and was just generally underwhelmed... This restaurant is supposed to have an Italian flair but disappointed and delivered a sad and confusing meal that seemed to be more typically Austrian than anything else. Service wasn't the best either had to ask a few times for the same thing and they tried to charge too much on the bill. read more

Food is ok. Not great. Same goes for the service. I wish they would split the courtyard into a smoking and a non-smoking section as some of their clients are chain smokers. The courtyard would be big enough for that. read more

Last sunday June 26 I had lunch wuth my girlfriend and another 2 friends. The inside and the garden @ Caffe Latte are great. The menu and the food is quite ok for the price e. g. Gnocci with spinache 9.90 thats ok. The worst thing about that sunday was the service. We all waited about 45 min until a waitress came to bring the menu. For our ordered drinks we waited another half an hour. Same with the food. All in all more bad impressions than good. It s a pity! read more

My review is strictly for the Sunday brunch. I hear nice things about nights here and free dinner when it's your birthday, but I was here today for brunch and was very disappointed. While they do include lunch and breakfast foods in the 14,90 buffet (no drinks included), it is lined up so chaotically between rows of tables, that my friends and I kept knocking things off the table as we were at the buffet, kept getting pushed around by other patrons and waiters and were unable to taste everything since the buffet was not replenished as often as it needed to be for all the guests that they let in. I don't feel the set up is clean or suitable to the amount of traffic that was expected. Also, and huge no no for me and my American friends, the menu boasts that it is a non smoking buffet. Hooray and thank goodness no one smokes next to the buffet, but there are ash trays on every table outside and when you do not give your patrons a choice as to where they can sit, you end up with strict non-smokers surrounded by smokers outside. Not to mention that it was a beautiful day and getting a table outside should have been amazing. Just make it NON SMOKING as you state in the menu for crying out loud!! read more

The outdoor patio in the back makes this place great. The food is pretty good but there are better brunch places. For coffee or a quick beer it's spot on. Service is also pretty slow but it was a busy Sunday. read more
