The very pleasant barista said they are both owned by the doctor and you get a free drink with an exam. Would recommend for the coffee. An eye exam will have to wait for another day.

The baked items are self serve and included biscotti and muffins. Every ounce of this coffee spot oozed creativity and uniqueness. There was so much to take in and absorb. It was pretty busy when I went for lunch on a Friday, which was great to see. They also brought out a small complimentary appetizer with chips, nopales, spicy tomato salsa, and a sprinkle of cheese, which was a fun and flavorful start to the meal. Needless to say, I couldn't finish everything. I ate the tacos but had to leave some of the lentil soup because it was just so much food. They also have frozen yogurt and desserts, plus an area with packaged products you can buy to take home. I even noticed advertisements for El Quinto Sol at the airport, so it seems like they're a well-known local staple. I was told its a recipe from a bakery that is now closed but was very popular over in the St. Peter's neighborhood. It was so good. Some people think that semita means "semite bread" and reflects the food and ethnicity of the early settlers of Northern Mexico and Laredo. There are tables and chairs in the middle of the panaderia and depending on what time of day you go, you might run into people you know who are enjoying good bread and coffee (the coffee is pretty good too.).
