Our server took more than fifteen minutes to greet us. None of the other servers took notice and would look away when we tried to get their attention. This is a very small restaurant, they were not busy, and there was no excuse for such lack of awareness from the entire wait staff. As a server myself, I was appalled that she did not have her manager talk to us or offer to comp our appetizer. Owning up to a mistake that big requires more than a "sorry." I appreciate this family owned Italian food restaurant in downtown Bryan. It was a breath of fresh air walking into the place; I did not feel like I was still in Bryan. I liked the paintings on the wall and the lighting of the room. The mirrors behind the bar area helped to make the place look bigger. Look at the details, like the ceiling, to catch why this place is special to the town. The server was ok, but the young lady that went around filling water was the only saving grace for service. For a Friday night, I am glad they worked as a team or else two servers would not have been able to handle their busy night. I ordered the lobster penne. It was extra cajun creamy, but lacked in the amount of lobster on the plate. It was nothing special that I could not have ordered at an Italian food chain.Unfortunately, the house salad was nothing to brag about. It looked store bought and limp; I am not impressed. We went on 2-2-2016 for our three year anniversary. It was the first time we have been there and it was easy to find. It was a cute little place. We were greeted right away and seated. Few minutes later they got our drink order and everyone there seemed very nice. My wife got chicken parmesan and I got the tortelloni alla capri. Both were amazing. Excellent Italian cuisine! Started with spicy ravioli for an appetizer. Fresh baked bread accompanied by balsamic vinegar & olive oil dip was a nice touch. I had the pesto ravioli for my entree - did not disappoint! My family also enjoyed the spaghetti and meatball entree and found it delicious as well. I had high hopes as it's been voted best Italian in BCS for several years. Everything was delicious except my entree. They served fresh bread with an olive oil/red wine vinegar "dip". It was SO delicious. I ordered the bow tie affair. The "grilled chicken" was more like boiled unseasoned chicken. Like the frozen kind you just heat up in the microwave. Their side salad was fresh and had a good dressing on it that was not super oily like what some places serve. The review would be a 5-star if they had had a lunch portion choice. Thought it would be a good quiet place for graduation lunch, not. I called to book the banquet room, I only had 15 people coming, but was willing to pay for the 25 minimum. When I asked the owner Robby, if he would throw in dessert for the 15 since I would be paying for 10 entrees that would not be served, he said no. He wants to hold out for a bigger party. Do the math. I was willing to pay the extra $160, $16 X 10, ( 10 orders that would not be served/cooked) but he was not willing to throw in a dessert? Thats over $10 each for the 15 people we would bring. So much for friendly. Even asked if he did not get a reservation, would we be able to book. No. We always have bookings. What happened to friendly. If your empty on the 13th for lunch in the banquet room, do blame anyone but the owner. read more

Bad service. The hostes told us that there was a 10-15 minute wait. We went here specifically on Bryan First Friday. The hostes took our number said that we could go walk around outside and we would get a call when our table was ready. The restaurant texted us when table was ready and we responded that we were on our way from across the street. When we got to the restaurant (after crossing the street - 2 minutes), the hostess told us that they had given our table to someone else. They didn't offer any aologies or try to make anything right! Just a "too bad for you!" attitude. Then the hostess laughed at us as we left. It looked like a cute restaurant, but if you do go, be careful at the front door. I have always loved Caffe Capri! Who doesn't love good Italian food. Have been there several times for dinner and always love my meal. We had our rehearsal dinner in their upstairs banquet room. For food we had a salad (great), bread (YUM!), chicken Parmesan, and the bow tie affair. The chicken Parmesan was okay but I assumed it would come with pasta. The bow tie affair was pretty good. I wasn't sure of the setup for a rehearsal dinner but it turned out to be that we were seated and served a plate with a portion of each entree. There was a noticeable wait time between people getting their plate and once we got the plates the food was warm at best. I noticed going back up the the bar that they had large dishes of the entrees and served from these dishes into our plates. I didn't feel that this was the best way to serve for a large party. It would have been much better to have this food sitting over heat so it would have been hot when served. We asked the waiter for oil/balsamic for our bread that is usually available at your table if your sitting downstairs and he brought us over 2 dishes. However he did not bring out any other dishes for the other 5 tables of our party or offer to do so. Will definitely go back for a dinner but would not recommend for a large party. read more

After 15 years in BCS, Caffe Capri is quite possibly the restaurant I miss most. Rami really has done a fantastic job of providing "the place for Italian." I'm always amazed at meeting people who haven't discovered the little gem and welcomed taking new fans. My favorite dish would be the tri-color bowtie (lunch menu)/bowtie affair (dinner). It was always loaded with creamy goodness. You really can't go wrong with any of the dishes, but be sure to try out their Italian Cream Sodas. read more

This restaurant is good if you are going to order one of two things. The Cajun Tortellini, and the Cajun Alfredo are the only things on the menu worth a try. Also, the portions are kind of pricey for how much food you are given. The ambiance is alright, dimmed lighting, high booths for privacy, and neat art and architecture. Not great, not made from scratch. I can only surmise that a majority of the items on the menu are frozen. I tasted the seafood ravioli, and it tastes identical to the Bertoli that you get in the supermarket....and that costs 4 bucks and tastes horrible. Also, there was a watery white sauce thrown on top that was tasteless. Honestly, I do not know who the chef is or where the recipes came from. I can cook better than this without much effort. However, I am trained in cooking, and I doubt anybody in that kitchen is trained. No trained chef would allow food like this to leave the kitchen. Also, if you look at the bread they give you, you will notice it is not even baked long enough. It is white as a piece of paper. Does that sound like Italian bread to you? The hostess was definitely not in the running for Ms. Congeniality. Seriously...would a smile kill you? Would saying more than "How many? Ok....sit here" be a possibility for this girl? If you hate your job then just quit... I am looking for a decent Italian restaurant in the BCS area and have yet to find anything. read more

My husband and I ate here while staying at a B&B in Bryan. We had been traveling for 4 days and this was our last dinner out. It was by far the meal we had. Both of us are originally from NY and we know good pasta. Both of our dishes were amazing! Love their italian bread. If you like fresh marinara sauce, ask for some to dip the bread in, yummy! This place is cockroach infested. There was a dead cockroach near my table and behind the booths I was waiting at to be seated. The Floor And the walls at the booth I was staying at were so dirty. When was the last time this place was swept or mopped?!! & the older waiter that I had was horrid. He displayed horrible service. Caffe Capri is one of my favorite restaurants in BCS. They have endless pasta choices and I love the caesar salad. The prices are very reasonable, enough to make this restaurant a place we frequent. I'd give it 5 stars but the truth is, I'm not from around here and there are other restaurants in this world that I like better. But for the options that we have here, this place is definitely one of the best. The atmosphere is great and cozy but if you go in with more than a party of 4 on a Friday or Saturday plan to wait. The restaurant is pretty small and there aren't many accommodations for (somewhat) larger groups unless there are reservation options that I don't know about. read more

We went here for a nice family celebration meal, but they kind of ruined the celebration. The food was good enough, my son liked the Italian soda, and the sauce for the cheese squares had pop, but the tiramisu was cut from a larger frozen dessert, looked crooked and was still frozen. The bigger issue was customer service. We sat at the table for five minutes before anyone served drinks, and that seemed to be the trend through the whole night. We were in our seats nearly 20 minutes before we saw the "actual" waiter. He seemed put-out to serve us. My son asked for ranch, and it never came. I would have reminded him, but he never came by until the salads were done. Cafe Capri did not live up to the expectations that previous reviews have left. A first thing that was unwelcoming was the very dim interior. If you don't come during the day, you need a flashlight to see what you're eating. Now down to business, the bread they give to you before the meal was a solid rock that if I was not starving would have pushed away. The waiter, although pretty, was not incredibly knowledgeable about the food. The prices range from $10 to $16, but the quality and portion of the entrées weren't worth it. You could easily get a better meal at olive garden and leave satisfied. And to correct the website they no longer offer gnocchi with the chicken parmesean. The baked penne was decent but had 6 pepperoni's and 2 pieces of chicken. My boyfriends lobster pasta had 7 quarter size pieces of lobster. This is my first ever Yelp review and it will probably be my only one, but I just loved this place so much! My mom and I came here to pick up a couple of gift certificates for Delta Zeta Run to the Chicken raffle prizes and we decided to stay for dinner. The owner was very nice and welcoming and we were sat almost immediately when we walked in. On top of that, the service was amazing and the food was delicious. My mom visits about once a month so we will definitely be returning and making this one of our spots to go to. Would highly recommend the cajun pasta and pesto ravioli!
