I have heard good things about this place so I think my expectations were high. The service was fairly standard; I ordered bulgogi breakfast sandwich which in my opinion was a bit too sweet. If you are familiar with Trader Joe's frozen bulgogi Cafe Walnut's bulgogi had the similar sweetness as TJ's. I was told by my daughter to order their spicy pork sandwich or their various salads next time. The ordering and the "kitchen"'is in the basement level, and when you go upstairs (1st floor level) there is a fairly spacious dining area. It was a bit damp and musty, all the napkin dispensers had no napkins, and the restroom ran out of paper towels (and it was before 12pm...). I will have to give it another try here though.

My new favorite cafe in the city and my weekend morning routine. This cafe is truly a hidden gem and located directly across the street from Washington Square Park. The coffee and matcha lattes are 100%. I'm very picky with my drinks and they never mess it up. They also sell smoothies, but I haven't tried it yet. For food, I've only tried their bagel sandwiches. The spicy pork bulgogi/egg/cheese, and bulgogi/egg/cheese are both amazing! I wish the bulgogi had a stronger flavor, but overall delicious. Bagels aren't super dense. Well priced, delicious, friendly service and homey vibes! If you eat inside, they will bring the food to you. Upstairs there are a ton of outlets. They also recently made it on the Philadelphia cafe passport!

Very cute little shop! Beautiful upstairs seating area and clean bathroom. Got a dirty chai and wasn't disappointed. The bulgogi breakfast sandwich was a bit sweeter than I expected but delicious. My friend said they liked their turkey bacon sandwich too, we both got them on croissants. The employees were super nice and the food came out pretty quickly!

We came here after we discovered how lame our continental breakfast was at the hotel we stayed at, and also wanted to try some drip coffee elsewhere. If you aren't from the area, the coffee shop is a bit hard to find. It is situated between older buildings and has a short and narrow downstairs entry. We entered in the obvious entry, but they have the obvious entry as their exit? I believe this entry one way and exit another is a remnant from Pandemic days. The inside was a bit bigger than imagined. As mentioned, the entry was a bit off, but when we asked if there was an upstairs, we found the sitting area to be large. The seats are not the most comfy to sit at for a long period if you have a laptop and want to work or study. The staff were very kind and helpful with answering questions we had. They had some sort of pecan dumpling that we tried but didn't like. I'd pass on it next time. The coffee was fresh and decent, but I do want to make a note here about Philadelphia coffee, and that is, it has some dusty French roast style flavor to it. I like my drip coffee full-bodied but with hints of nuts and/or fruit in it. This coffee shop and a couple of others, plus the hotels, all seemed to have that darkly burnt flavor. This coffee experience made me look forward to returning home for great coffee. As I mentioned how we came here for breakfast refuel, we were delighted with the fresh and not greasy sausage, egg, and (gooey) cheese croissant breakfast sandwich we ordered. It hit the spot and prepared us for walking Philly streets that day.

A little difficult to find (enter on the garden level). They have a build your own breakfast sandwich option which we did. Lots a coffee flavor options too. We got two bagel sandwiches and hot and cold vanilla lattes. Bagels were very good - tasted kind of like a steamed bagel sandwich. Coffees were very good as well. Espresso tasted kind of burnt in a good way. You order and pick up at the counter, but staff were friendly. Plenty of seating upstairs as well, very quiet on a Saturday morning.

Affordable and cute cafe close to Washington Park. We came for late breakfast before walking around. The cafe is down a few stairs and then you order at the counter and can sit upstairs. There's also restrooms for customers upstairs. The service is super fast and the staff are very friendly! They gave my friends dog a pup cup! We got the bacon and cheese on crois

that was possibly one of the best sandwiches i've ever consumed, my only disappointment is that there isn't more to enjoy. The baristas are super nice and they were playing one of my favorite bands, chon!

I really enjoyed my experience here at Cafe Walnut. The outside of the store seems pretty unassuming ( I can see why people may have had trouble finding the store, but I didn't have any issues myself). You order downstairs, and there is a pretty spacious seating area upstairs. I liked the area a lot and found it comfortable and good to work in. I also enjoyed the latte I got. The staff was friendly! I was intrigued by their smoothies and sandwiches so the next time I come by here I'll definitely give those a try.

Some of the best breakfast sandwiches i've ever had, and their cold brew is delicious! I have come twice in the last three days. First time I just had an egg and cheese on a plain bagel with a black cold brew, safe options if you've never been somewhere before. Today I got the bulgogi egg and cheese and... mind blowing. So hot and flavorful and the bagels are chewy and soft. I wish this cafe could come back to Virginia Beach with me. Definitely going to become a staple for me since I am in Philly a lot!!

Their bulgogi egg and cheese bagel and red bean mochi were delish! Also owned by family of Central high school graduates. Quick and friendly service. Plenty of seating upstairs. Nice, quiet and clean environment.

Korean style coffee shop with Korean razzle dazzle in their foods. Overall decent coffee shop. It has adequate amount of seating upstairs for small groups. I came here to study. It's not my ideal place to study since the music was kinda loud but if you bring noise cancelling headphones it could be a decent study cafe. The AC wasn't really working that well the day I went but I was okay. Food: I ordered a caramel iced coffee and a bagel with butter. Both were okay, I wasn't a big fan of the caramel here and the bagel was also just okay. I've heard good things about their bulgogi bagel though Service: staff was friendly and they knew some customers by name which was nice

When ordering coffee, I'll let them know what I want (drip coffee) with whatever kind of milk (with heavy oat milk enough to change colour) and sweetener (with sugar please). Then you let them know any sides you want. I may or may not be saying it a bit quickly, because I'm half awake, and running on auto pilot, because I've lived in the Northeast for so long. The absolutely delightful lady behind the counter got it all recorded, fired, and sorted as and when it was coming out of my mouth. Confirmed everything, collected my payment, and we kept it pumping. As soon as the coffee was ready, called me over to grab it, because it was chilly and rainy while we waited. When one of the items I was ordering was taking a long time, the staff let me know that the item was taking a while longer than expected to finish cooking. My food came out perfectly done. Also, when they pass you your food, they confirm how many things you're ordering to make sure you get all your stuff. This operation is efficient, fast, and friendly. It's inexpensive for what you're getting. Coffee is excellent. Bagels have that snappy exterior, and chewy insides. Hash browns are crisp and piping hot. Coffee is rich and dark. Genuinely, you can't have any complaints when everything is done just right.

This was my first time actually trying it and it definitely lived up to the hype of the Yelp reviews. My wrap had chicken, hummus, lettuce, and feta, and it was so delicious. My chicken was very good, very tender and seasoned well. It also had a great creamy hummus to tie all the other ingredients together. The feta added just enough saltiness to balance out the rest of the flavors. All of the ingredients were very fresh, and my wrap was extremely soft, yet still maintained its form completely as I ate. I also ordered a Nutella hot chocolate. It was delicious! It was my fist time having a Nutella hot Chocolate. I usually just get a normal hot chocolate. The pita chips served as an additional side item with this sandwich and proved to be quite enjoyable. The pita chips had a good crunch and were able to pair with the wrap very well. I ended up eating all of the pita chips! It was a great lunch and I enjoyed my wrap! I would likely order from Café Square One again in the future, especially, if that wrap is still on their menu!

I went to Middle Child a few weeks ago just after 3, only to find it closes at 3. Today I returned, around 1, and there was a good crowd there having lunch. I ordered the Surfer, and the Hash Brown Potatoes. The Surfer is Middle Child's most popular sandwich. It's made on a Ciabatta bun, and has a thick layering of tender, lean, House Turkey breast, with melty Swiss cheese, arugula, blueberry chutney, and Duke's mayo. It's hard to describe just how delicious this sandwich was. My biggest concern was the Ciabatta bun - it's not one of my favorites, as I've found them to be tough and difficult to bite through. My fears were quickly put to rest after the first bite! The bun had a slightly crispy exterior - and when I followed through with my first bite, the tender, soft interior of the Ciabatta was a pleasant surprise. In fact, it complemented the thick savory Turkey, arugula, chutney and mayo! It was one of the best Turkey sandwiches I've had. Now, if that wasn't enough, don't forget, I ordered the Hash Brown Potatoes. It said Hash Browns on the blackboard, see attached picture, but these 'weren't your Mama's hash browns'! They are described online as Latka'd Hash Browns. They are thick crispy squares that combine a potato pancake latke with a hash brown texture. The interior reminded me of my mother's potato kugel, which I still reminisce about. In one word, those fried crispy potato squares were outstanding. It's 'a must try' and goes so well with the Surfer! Last, but not least, the Limeade! It was so refreshing! Not too tart, not too sweet... just right! I'll be returning to Middle Child in the not too distant future!

The corned beef was an enticing vibrant pink, tender and juicy, with a perfectly balanced and pure saltiness that accentuated the beef's natural flavor. The scrambled eggs were incredibly smooth and creamy, complemented by the rich, melted cooper sharp cheese. The rye was toasted with butter, giving it a thin, crispy crust and a soft interior--a bit softer than Hershel's East Side Deli's, fragrant but not greasy. Every part was delicious, and the combination was harmonious and delightful. The portion of ingredients was very generous, definitely worth the $14.50 price. The service was a little slow, but the moment you tasted it, you would forgive everything!
