A few years back I was on a major empanada kick. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't able to really…read morefulfill those cravings at any particular business. It's like an unobtainable quest but whenever I have the chance to fill that empty void, I do so by randomly sampling. So what makes a good empanada? To me, I look for a buttery and flaky outer shell. This should not be overly oily or dense. The dough ratio should not overpower the filling and the empanada should be able to hold the stuffed contents well. I personally gravitate towards savory fillings which should be moist but not soggy. Best Artisan Empanadas menu offers a long list of drinks ranging from espresso, teas, lattes, frappes, smoothies, and alcoholic drinks. The empanadas come in savory and sweet options. These can be purchases as is or served with sides, turning the item into a full blown meal. There are 4 different salads available for those who want a healthier alternative. As a quick snack and first attempt of trying out BAE, my sister and I made the purchase of: *Mango Tropical Shaker *Chicken & Mushroom Empanada *Traditional Beef Empanada *Argentinian Chimichurry Sauce The empanadas are amazing when it comes to the dough standpoint. Bae has the recipe down to a T and will make even the toughest eater a fan! The chicken and mushroom empanada was exceptionally delicious- creamy, flavorful, and very tasty. I would have easily grabbed another if we didn't already have plans for our next bite. The traditional beef empanada was good but the raisins totally threw me off. The plump, overly sweet raisins weren't a good combo with the salty olives according to my tastebuds. Again, this was still very doable but I made sure to remove each raisin I came across. The mango tropical shaker was okay, just a little too sweet for me. 5/5 stars for BAE's empanadas. I eagerly look forward to trying the panzerotto [pizza], chorizo, and assorted breakfast empanadas. Parking is disastrously busy so come here with patience- it'll be worth all the hassle. I promise!

Food: Peach and Blueberry, Beef, Lomo, with Chimichurri + Mango Chutney…read more Price: $4.10 | $7.95 (Beef and Lomo) | $0.50 for Sauces Overall: BAE Empanadas are located in Campbell (where Bloom Bagels is!) and we wanted to grab something to go for lunch. They have a good variety of Peruvian empanadas and the place smelled really good. My boyfriend and I shared the Beef, Lomo Satado, and the Peach Blueberry! The flavors in both the Beef and Lomo was perfect with the seasoning and what was surprising is the Mango Chutney which made it even more tastier; it had a sweet but tangy profile. The peach and blueberry as a sweet treat was a perfect close out to our lunch.

Check your empanada for mold!…read more We stopped by for breakfast and got chilaquiles and a chicken and mole empanada. Enjoyed our chilaquiles (do try this if you stop by), and were wrapping up our meal with the empanada when we discovered a chunk of fuzzy blue grey mold in the MIDDLE of the empanada about 1" in length and 3/8" wide. The empanada was already cut in half and wasn't showing from the outside or the cut area, but the mold was in one half of the empanada and I broke the other half which was normal looking. Thankfully we spit it out, and didn't eat the bite that we took. The waitress had offered to replace it but we said no because we were so shocked. We were kind of disappointed that the manager didn't try to come and address the issue with us. Just left it to their serving staff who quickly cleared our table and gave us the check. Might go back for the other food items, but definitely NOT the empanadas.

My favorite thing was the coffee horchata which was perfectly sweet and had a good amount. The food was okay, we got the chicken chipotle empanada which had good flavor but wish it had more meat. The steak ranchero and eggs was nothing special the meat was very chewy. The same with the steak sandwich the meat was very chewy. Altogether if you are in the area, the service is good but the food is alright!

Long overdue since I frequent the place:…read more If you are craving a reliable, no-frills Mexican spot in Cupertino, this place delivers exactly what you hope for and then some. We grabbed three burritos to go, two with adobo chicken and one with the Del Mar fish. Each one was packed generously and full of flavor. The chicken had a nice depth of seasoning, and the fish option felt fresh and well balanced. Portions were more than satisfying. I made a small customization request to shift the cheese from one burrito into mine, and they handled it without hesitation. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the food came out quickly. For the quality and size, the pricing felt reasonable. The setting lands comfortably between casual and slightly elevated. It is a step up from a typical taco shop, but still laid back and easygoing. There is seating both inside and outside, which is a nice option, though the patio sits near a somewhat busy street. Parking can require a bit of patience since it shares a strip mall lot with other businesses. Aside from that minor inconvenience, it is a dependable choice for a satisfying burrito, and I would happily come back again. Did I mention the staff have great stories?

Uniquely among the few places in this area I've tried that do have sopapillas, theirs are sometimes hollow so you can put the necessary honey (which comes with) inside. Sometimes. Some are hollow and some aren't. They come 8 to a plate, in the shape of pie slices, and they're quite crisp on the outside. It's pretty good, best of the breed locally, but I still miss the big pillowy ones from New Mexico. For the meal beforehand, I tried the special of corn chowder. This was very plain-tasting but reasonably hearty. Strange salsa bar. The salsas come with shallow wooden spoons with which it's impossible to get a decent quantity of any of the liquid salsas into the little paper cup.

Tastes like comfort. This is what you're going to get when you dine at Fuji Huoshao & Dumpling…read more The Beef Huoshao was phenomenal. The beef patty was juicy. The skin was crispy and chewy. 100% should order this. The Lamb Noodle Soup had a deep lamb flavor that probably took the restaurant years to perfect. I wanted to drink up every last drop of the soup. One downside was that I felt super dehydrated after the meal and I think it was because the soup had a lot of salt. We also ordered the Three Deluxe Dumplings. The inside of the dumpling was juicy while the skin had a nice chewy texture. I don't normally enjoy the thicker skin dumplings but these were good despite being thicker skin. We also ordered the Pig Ears as an appetizer. They were okay. The seasoning was not over-powering, but the actual pig ears were not that crunchy. Would probably skip this dish next time.

The huosbao are best when eaten fresh though also delicious on reheat. Service/ambiance Staff are friendly and I appreciate that you can see them making the dumplings. Usually I order takeout but the transparency is appreciated.
