The smoked salmon also was not fishy whatsoever and OUUU don't get me started on the deluxe chicken waffle sandwich. It was our first time trying it and we thought the chicken would we wrapped in an egg waffles shell, but surprise! They added a very warm and soft bread ON TOP of the egg waffle. Tbh i'm usually not the biggest fan of plain white bread and was afraid that it'll be stale or chewy, but I'm gonna hold your hand when I say this- it was literal perfection. Beyond the soft chicken, inside the sandwich has pickles, lettuce, and mayonnaise. The dirty coffee was also so YUM, but it can be pretty heavy. It's sweet from all the chocolate drizzle and slight cream on the top, but pairs well with the coffee at the bottom- just make sure that after you take the first sip, to stir well! But warning- might not be ideal for those who are black coffee fanatics and don't have the biggest sweet tooth!

I will purchase Starbucks if its my last resort as a treat, but I find their baked goods/food uninspiring and overpriced. I also do not enjoy their coffee, and don't even get me started on their refreshers, its basically full of ice. ANYWAYS, this is not a Starbucks review. Equator was a breath of fresh air. The interior was clean and bright, with the most amazing, cheerful staff. They carry Suzy Q donuts which we did order (oreo and blueberry fritter, both amazing) and the hubs grabbed a flat white. The drink menu is on the smaller side, which I like. Too many options confuse me. I like things to be simple. They also have some prepared foods like sandwiches, and some bowls. I did notice a chickpea salad bowl, which I will have to try next time. Only downside, is this place is so popular that with the many tables around, there was no seating. I stood eating my donut, until we luckily had a table open up a couple bites in. I would love if they added some bar stools around the barista station. There are some outdoor tables, but it was a chilly day. I CANNOT wait for Equator to open at the Indigo on Ogilvie.

In the past we had to go to several locations in the city to buy some of coffee blends that we preferred. Back in January we came across an article about Personal Service Coffee in Kanata that offered over 500 varieties of kcups. My wife and I visited the store and were in total amazement at the setup and the selection. There Wall of Coffee is really amazing, It's like a candy store experience but for coffee drinkers. What I personally like about Personal Service Coffee is the fact they have such a huge selection of kcups that no one else in the city offers. Plus they offer some really nice premium blends that are definitely not available anywhere in Ottawa. The super cool factor about buying coffee there is that they offer individual kcups, that means yo can mix and match any variety of coffee you want. My wife prefers the milder blends, I however prefer a more rich and bold coffee. They have fair trade coffee and blends from all over the world. We usually pick up a box of a preferred coffee like the Nantucket blend from Green Mountain but I then mix and match on Sumatran, French Roast, Blue Jamaican, Kona, and a few others. Nick and Louise are the owners and they go out of their way to make you feel welcomed in the store. Oh and before I forget, every time you go to Personal Service Coffee you are offered a free coffee of your choosing, freshly brewed for you on the spot, yikes, I love it. I waited a few months to make a comment about them because I wanted to see if they were going to live up to their promise and so far not disappointed. If you live in the Ottawa area especially Kanata and the surrounding areas like Stittsville, Carp, Nepean the drive is quick and well worth going there. I told a few friends on the other side of Ottawa in Orleans and they said it was really worth driving for the selection. Anyways, this was a good find and a much needed store because the other places selling kcups are so tied into the limited choices that are just boring and finally we can choose and pick like our US counterparts can, a real treat. for me its even better because I live just minutes away . . .yippie. The place is family-run. They offer you a free hot drink when you come in, whether you have spent money with them and only came in to look around. A great way to try something before you buy it. I found the prices to be very reasonable and you don't have to buy the whole box. You can mix and match different coffees. The variety of blends and roasts packaged in KCups is the greatest I've ever seen.

This is in a stand-alone building in the same parking lot as the Beavertails is. When they opened the mall, the customers were gagging for coffee and a place to sit and relax and unwind, and suddenly now they have 3 or 4, not including the food court. This is great news! It just happened that I needed to go shopping here and this side is where I normally park (easier this way to find the car!), and lo and behold! Starbucks has a great rewards program. I have been able to cash in the points for things like the most expensive coffee they sell *for which the staff always encourages me to go above and beyond. Thank you for that!* But I also got a 1-lb package of coffee still int he beans, which we took home. You know - one of those specialty coffees that they don't sell all year. I'll have to remember to do this again next spring, when they bring out the Rift Valley for a week or two. Yum! So this shop seems nice and bright, with lots of seating. Seating at the tables at the back are uncomfortable. Having said all that, we have been here a few times; it's pretty good. The food is good with a varied menu. The service is also good. For this visit, we got together with a few friends and it was nice seeing everyone; ie: the company was also good. Unfortunately on this day, it was hugely hot outside, and with all the bad luck of bad timing, this was the day the air conditioner conked out! One thing I like about them is that they serve a nice variety of beverages, as well as good food which is not pre-fab; in other words, they actually have a kitchen. It serves the residents of the neighbourhood well. I am likely to go back.
