The smoked salmon also was not fishy whatsoever and OUUU don't get me started on the deluxe chicken waffle sandwich. It was our first time trying it and we thought the chicken would we wrapped in an egg waffles shell, but surprise! They added a very warm and soft bread ON TOP of the egg waffle. Tbh i'm usually not the biggest fan of plain white bread and was afraid that it'll be stale or chewy, but I'm gonna hold your hand when I say this- it was literal perfection. Beyond the soft chicken, inside the sandwich has pickles, lettuce, and mayonnaise. The dirty coffee was also so YUM, but it can be pretty heavy. It's sweet from all the chocolate drizzle and slight cream on the top, but pairs well with the coffee at the bottom- just make sure that after you take the first sip, to stir well! For this visit, we got together with a few friends and it was nice seeing everyone; ie: the company was also good. Unfortunately on this day, it was hugely hot outside, and with all the bad luck of bad timing, this was the day the air conditioner conked out! One thing I like about them is that they serve a nice variety of beverages, as well as good food which is not pre-fab; in other words, they actually have a kitchen. It serves the residents of the neighbourhood well. I am likely to go back.

Although I didn't make it out there until well after they opened, lol. They opened November 4, 2023 and I made it there in March of 2024. They brew your tea when you order it, which is in contrast to most bubble tea places that brew the tea in bulk for the day. So it takes a bit longer for your drink, but you can taste the difference. I got the green tea ($5.95) and added mango flavour (additional $1) and tapioca pearls (another additional $1). I got it with no added sugar and less ice. The drink was plenty sweet due to the mango flavour and the pearls. I loved the distinct green tea flavour. The mango flavour was on the subtle side though. The tapioca pearls were chewy and springy and they were very generous with the amount. The inside of the shop is beautiful. Very Instagramable. There are a few seats inside. Service was pleasant. Chicha San Chen is co-located with Banh Mi Girl. Lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot. (36)

I will purchase Starbucks if its my last resort as a treat, but I find their baked goods/food uninspiring and overpriced. I also do not enjoy their coffee, and don't even get me started on their refreshers, its basically full of ice. ANYWAYS, this is not a Starbucks review. Equator was a breath of fresh air. The interior was clean and bright, with the most amazing, cheerful staff. They carry Suzy Q donuts which we did order (oreo and blueberry fritter, both amazing) and the hubs grabbed a flat white. The drink menu is on the smaller side, which I like. Too many options confuse me. I like things to be simple. They also have some prepared foods like sandwiches, and some bowls. I did notice a chickpea salad bowl, which I will have to try next time. Only downside, is this place is so popular that with the many tables around, there was no seating. I stood eating my donut, until we luckily had a table open up a couple bites in. I would love if they added some bar stools around the barista station. There are some outdoor tables, but it was a chilly day. I CANNOT wait for Equator to open at the Indigo on Ogilvie.

They're so thoughtful and caring and really make you want to come here just for the interactions. Also, can I just say- for some reason, it's always so hard to find GOOD quality black coffee that's not sour and that the portions are fair for its price. LUNA HANDS DOWN has one of the best coffees in Ottawa and the portion size is 10/10. There's also lots of seating with a comfortable sitting environment and it's not too loud even during rush hours during lunch time. They have patios opened during summer, very cozy!

I was surprised that Timothy's closed, but apparently these two chains are owned and operated by the same organization. There's another Van Houtte at the Tanger Outlet, and apparently they were doing better than Timothy's was in the Ottawa area, although Timothy's does a great business in Toronto - so I hear. Further news is that there will be one or two Timothy's still left in Ottawa, but in Orleans. Having said all this, I was surprised how little had changed inside - aside of course from the branding of coffee. None of the decor inside was changed; the same tables, floors, display cabinets and counters; with the exception of the easy chairs which were badly in need of replacement. Even the wicker cafe tables and chairs that once cluttered the front of the restaurant were still being used but for outdoor seating. Gone was the chalkboard with the beautiful, comical drawings (once, a bear "make mornings BEARable"; another time a lion "A yawn is a silent scream for coffee"), and of course the brands of coffee are all Van Houtte now. I do have to say that all the edible treats are refreshing. We've been there twice now, and I tried the latte. I am glad you can get it with almond milk here.
