Cafe Trentuno is family owned and operated. I was surprised to learn they have been in business for over 30 years! Wow! I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon since I had been having a hankering for a slice of pizza. I rarely ever crave pizza! My single slice was a nice portion and I enjoyed the supreme pizza overall. I would have preferred just a tad bit more sauce. The service was nice and friendly. The inside dining space has low lights and really felt like what I envision an Italian family's home to feel like. Currently, they aren't selling alcohol. They offer daily specials Mon- Fri. I plan to return soon to try some other menu items. read more

We stopped by Cafe Trentuno on the way home after a long day. We were looking for nice pizza spot but didn't want the "fast food" chain pizza stores. Cafe Trentuno was recommended on Yelp. At first glance, we were not impressed. It dated decor and there were no customers in sight. But the manager created us and took our order. He was very nice and informative of the menu. They do offer pizza by the slice at any time of the day. A plus if you just need a quick snack. They appear to serve Napoleon style pizza, so it was looking up. We ordered a large olive oil based, cheese with pepperoni and pineapple. I know it sounds weird but it's our favorite. Each pizza is custom made to order so it took a few minutes to be served. But the advantage was it was piping hot straight to the table. Olive oil was slightly sweet and tangy. Cheese was fresh and tasty. Toppings were perfect. Crust was crispy brown on undercarriage with nice crunch. Edges were crispy on outside and fluffy on inside. Manager suggested their balsamic dressing to dip the crust in, so we gave it a try. Highly recommended! It was a great choice! And of course, the Diet Coke was on point! Great customer service! Good pizza! We will definitely be back! read more

We ordered the Pesto Pizza and added pepperoni! It was super delicious and I loved the sun dried tomatoes that came on it. The service was awesome too. The guy working the register was super nice and asked my husband what game he wanted to watch on the TV and got the football game on for us. This place looks like it's going out of business and looks like they quit carrying a long time ago. One Coke machine and icemaker doesn't work. There are multiple tables that have not been serviced or cleaned the entire time. I was in the restaurant. The restaurant was completely dirty. I was afraid the food was not clean it. I have always liked this restaurant, and have recommended it to people in the past, but after this last visit, I'm not gonna recommend it to anyone. Matter of fact I'm embarrassed to recommend it to anyone. Half the menu items are no longer available and they're out of different types of pizza. Found on Yelp, since our pizza place closed. Kinda a whole in wall. Not very welcoming outside and trash on side wall. Went in anyways was cool you could order a whole pizza of a slice. Got suprema medium pizza, a slice with pepperoni and mushrooms, and side of meatballs. Don't know the difference between whole pizza suprema and a slice of supreme. Drinks are self serve and in a foam cup. Inside needs house keeping and some repairs. Staff not that friendly. They so say they close from 3-4pm weekdays- we came Friday about. 1:30 so maybe they will do cleaning then. They didn't have any tv just to give noise to the place. . Food was good but environment no so much- so I continue to find a good one in the area. read more

I'd never been here before and I was craving pasta and another place in the area wasn't open, so I took a chance and stopped in not long ago to give them a shot. I didn't enjoy the food. That's really it. It was just really unremarkable and it wasn't a good enough value to overlook its mediocre nature. I has cheese bread, meatballs and cheese ravioli with meat sauce and it just really wasn't good. Cheese bread was bland and lacked seasoning, meatballs were kind of dry and didn't seem very fresh, and the pasta seemed like it came in frozen in a bag and had been microwaved or something. CT is our favorite place to eat in all of the south Birmingham area. We've been customers for 20+ years. Don't expect anything fancy when you go and don't let the decor or ambiance fool you. They are literally a "hole in the wall" in a strip mall. But the food has always been amazing!! You do need to call to make sure they're open before going. I think they've changed their hours of operation and it's hit or miss sometimes. Give them a try! You will not be disappointed. read more

I kind of got off to a rough start here, I think I caught them just as they opened and it felt like I was a bit more of a nuisance than a paying customer. Placed my order for: HOUSE CALZONE: Ham, Sausage, Pepperoni, Mozzarella.......... $9.50 Found a seat and waited for my food. Thanked my server for the food when it arrived and received something that sounded like a grunt. As I sat there eating my food I heard them start warming up to people and greeting them and engaging with them. My food, this calzone is definitely popping into my top 5, maybe even top 3. Really good, and not overly saucy .... I prefer to add my own sauce and control how much is in my calzone. Great flavor, fresh ingredients and a really good price point. Really pleased with the food. When I left I received a thank you and was asked if my food was good .... thinking that I caught them at a bad time when I first arrived. Food is good and ended on a friendly note. We are traveling and spending the night in Pelham, AL. We were looking (on Yelp) for a restaurant where we could get good pizza. We drove about 20 minutes to find Cafe Trentuno. It's in a strip mall. You order at a counter as you come in but it looked like they had a dining room as well. Unfortunately, they were having plumbing issues so were only doing take out orders. We ordered two slices of pizza and two side salads and took them to our hotel. The side salads had lots of toppings and were just the right size. Oh my goodness, the slices were huge and delicious! We absolutely recommend this restaurant. By the way, they have a lot more options than pizza. read more

Alright alright ..... I want this place to be what it was 15 years ago when I lived in alabaster but alas it is not. It has been years since we have been here but I stopped by Thursday evening to get some pasta for my daughter. Unfortunately the Chicken Alfredo pasta had no real taste ( seemed lacking in Parmesan) and my antipasto salad was literally just a head of iceberg lettuce with a few slices a meat on top. The restaurant has not been kept up and looks a little beat up. The only reason I give them this high a rating is the staff. The guys at the front are super nice and speedy. I've been here several times, usually the food is pretty decent as long as you're ordering pizza & the like items. On 2 separate occasions (including today) I've ordered the Philly Steak sub & both times it was WET; like sub laying in a puddle of oily cheese water. The first one I just didn't eat, today I asked to return it. I asked for a slice of pizza. I got an old piece with pepperoni & some partially melted cheese on top. It looked gross so I walked out. WASTED $20. Honestly I don't think I'll go back. The guy at the counter wasn't their usual guy, not helpful, every table filthy. What a terrible experience there today. Shame I didn't snap a pic of the water logged sub & old slice of pizza. Our go to place for pizza night with the kids. The crust tastes homemade. It's chewy and has the pull you want from a good pizza crust. This restaurant offers better than average toppings too. This local gem hasn't let me down. Even dining by cell phone lighting due to a huge storm that took out the electricity in the entire area. Luckily we got our order in just in time. It's hard to decide what to try because everything sounds so scrumptious! I had the classic lasagna and it was like the old country....fresh, smooth, creamy and spiced perfectly! I had a hard time finding this place; I guess I just kept missing the sign and didn't see one on the road during lunch time traffic. I visited on a Friday, and had their lunch special which was Chicken Parmesan and spaghetti, including side salad, drink, and garlic bread. It was less than $10, and I was very impressed with the meal for the price. I thought the chicken parm was great, the sauce was not too sweet, the bread was good, and I liked their house salad dressing. Local Italian joint in the Mi Pueblo (former Food World) strip mall in Pelham off 31. I've been here many times for a slice. Pizza by the slice is cheap and good for lunch or dinner. My favorite slice here is the Trentuno Special- ham, pimentos and green olives. Sounds weird but it's really good. Tonight son and I wanted a calzone until we saw that they make a stuffed pizza. The stuffed pizza had good flavor but it was pretty greasy on the bottom. The grease made the crust soggy and overall kind of disappointing. I don't know that I'll order that again but I will continue to grab a slice here on occasion. The interior is nothing fancy but clean. The people are really nice and I like coming here. They also serve a bevy of pasta dishes and subs in addition to pizza and salads. They offer dine in seating and carry out. read more

Located in almost a hole in a wall in a mini strip mall, big things come in small packages. Be prepared to wait, because calzones are made to order. 1st and foremost, you get what you pay for. And I mean that in the best way possible. There is no way to leave hungry after eating here. Large servings are alive and well here! I always order the meat calzone with pepperoni, sausage and ham with added black olived. Crust is nice golden brown and inside is ooey gooey awesomeness! Marinara is a perfect blend of spices and tomatos with perfect texture. Also if you are needing something light, you can buy a single slice of pizza.
