If you are worried about food while going to glen ivy, don't be. They have quite a few amazing dishes. They have a broad range of salads, sandwiches and wraps, and a few warm or other dishes, as well as desserts! The special was turkey chili, but as it was 90+ chili was not something I was wanting, so I went with the salmon tacos. The four street style tacos come with salmon, cabbage, pico de gallo and salsa, as well as a creamy sauce. They also have a small dallop of guacamole with a few chips. Overall they are very good, and there is quite a bit, so I see you could almost split these and be satisfied. I also had one of their coffee cupcakes and I was pleasantly surprised. It had a good, not overpowering, flavor which I really enjoyed. They also have a large selection of fountain beverages including flavored teas and vitamin water. All that sun, water, and mud can make a person hungry! This is the main food resource at Glen Ivy. They also have a sushi bar (so they say), but it was closed when we went at about 4:45pm. Thankfully, we just got in before Cafe Sole closed. They were cleaning up, but still allowed us to order anything off the menu. There are lots of choices, and all seem to have that extra little oomph to make it more like spa food... healthy, good quality, tasty. Even though you order from a counter while holding a tray, the food that you leave with is really good stuff. Take it outdoors and eat while enjoying the beautiful scenery... trees, plants, mountains, birds, pools - and people walking around in the swim suits, if that's your sort of thing :P The food itself is generally all around the same price $12-13. We ordered the Glen Ivy sandwich. Turkey slices, swiss cheese, avocado, sprouts, on squaw bread... Huge sandwich... and the best red grapes - so firm/crisp, sweet, and delicious. The other was sandwiches and wraps. Lastly it was pizza. We ordered the pesto panini sandwich and the turkey avocado sandwich. The pesto one stood out by far to the other sandwich. Had great flavor and was still warm. The turkey sandwich was super dry and needed lots of flavor! More cheese and sauce! It came with a side of pasta which also was extremely bland. While spending your day at Glen Ivy resort you are bound to get hungry. We stopped in at the Cafe Sol which is inside the resort. The place is nice with indoor and outdoor seating. There is a terrace above to eat as well. As you are eating they come around and clear your plates once done. As you walk in you are given a tray and utensils. There are monitors above showing what each section serves and you wait in the line of the section you choose. They have salads, sandwiches and wraps, nachos and pizza, and dessert. We opted for the sandwich spot. The price of a sandwich is $16-$18 so I'm here thinking it's gonna be great. The food is definitely overpriced for what it is and the food is just okay. We ordered a turkey pesto panini and a turkey avocado sandwich and shared. One of them came with a pasta salad and the other with some fruit. The panini was the favorite. It tasted good and the bread was soft. The fruit was also very sweet and fresh. As for the turkey avocado it was bland and the meat was dry. It needed some sauce or add ons. The pasta salad did not have any seasoning and it was like eating boiled penne. For a soft drink it was $5 and you get refills thru the day. Wow! I'm so impressed by this restaurant! Located inside Glen Ivy Hot Springs, I honestly thought they'd serve sub par food at ridiculously high prices since, you're already at the spa and you have no choice but to eat there, like any amusement park, but no, the food's reasonably priced for the amount you receive, and it's all delicious. All the food's brought in from local farmers, keeping it fresh, healthy and reasonably priced. Their theme is Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. It's all made to order and you pick from three different stations. They have a special everyday. The day I went it was pho. There's a sandwich station that includes soups, and pasta w/marinara as a side dish. There are also pizzas, calzones, tacos, and huge wonderful salads. The salads are $12 - $16 but they are massive, I kid you not, as big as a head of lettuce, enough to share and then some. Seared ahi tuna salads, chicken, blackened wild salmon, etc. The first time I ate here I had the greek special w/gyro meat on pita bread w/yogurt, very tasty. The second time I had the tacos. You get three w/a choice of shrimp, wild salmon, beef or chicken. I had a salmon, a shrimp and a beef. All came w/cilantro sauce, and some other seasoning. Wasn't a big fan of the salmon w/dill.. the meat was very firm like it was marinated in something, sweet. The beef and shrimp ones were delicious. Overall: The atmosphere and the service is great. The food is overpriced. FOOD: So how it works, it's set up like a cafeteria where they make it fresh in front of you. There is a salad section (ahi poke, chicken Caesar, and 2 others), a pizza and sandwich section, and a desert section. I ordered the kale and spinach 3 cheese quesadilla ($16)and my friend ordered the ahi poke salad ($18). They make the items right in front of you (pretty nice, can tell it's not microwave food or pre-made). She absolutely loved her salad and when I tried it, I somewhat did also. It felt just like something that I could make at home or order at a Japanese restaurant for a lower price.When I received mine, I felt the same way also. It was good but I could probably do it at home or order elsewhere. ATMOSPHERE: You can sit outside under the umbrellas, or inside (there is also an outside shaded area away from umbrellas). We got in line (The one in the middle) , paid at the register, and grab ourself a seat. I believe the if you got iced tea here, you get free refills throughout the day. Café Solé is a well sized cafe in Glen Ivy ... and yes, those Glen Ivy-ers think of everything to make your stay pleasant so obviously ... food is a must. No need to interrupt your relaxing day by exiting the grounds! Thankfully, Café Solé's taste blends so well with Glen Ivy's charm and offers a delicious array of yummy foods. Ordering is interesting -- it's like a cafeteria where you go to different stations to request your food to be made. I sampled my friends' smoked salmon + walnut salad, goat cheese and pear salad, and chicken sandwich. Portions are quiet large so you can definitely split with your friend! Everything tasted really fresh. =) Loved it... perfect healthy meal to get started on. We stopped in here for lunch during our Glen Ivy visit. I have eaten here years ago and remember it being pretty good. They offer a variety of salads, wraps, sandwiches, pizzas, nachos and soups. There is also an extensive variety of delectable desserts. My friend and I both got salads. I got the chicken caesar salad and she got the salmon salad. Both were really good. They give you a decent sized portion, too. The prices are on the higher side though. Both salads were $16 each. We got iced teas too. They offer Mighty Leaf brand, which is my favorite. The iced teas and beverages are $5 each- yikes! However, it is free refills. We ended the meal with chocolate chip cookies. The cafe is cafeteria style and certain meals are prepared ahead of time, which doesn't make the meal very fresh. I ordered the southwestern salad and the lettuce was brown. The salad was underdressed and the toppings were stale. It was practically tasteless. The only salad I think were made to order was the poke salad. My boyfriend had a salad and he seemed pretty pleased with it. The line is also really long just to enter the cafe depending on which hour you decide to eat. Chicken, cheese, sour cream, cilantro, guacamole, jalapeños .... They were a huge hit! BBQ Chicken Salad- 1 star... 0 if I could... Tasteless, nasty lettuce, I couldn't get through more than a couple bites.. Pulled pork sandwich - 3 stars. It was decent, bread was fresh, coleslaw was terrible! Turkey sandwich - 2 stars. Everything on the menu here sounded amazing so I was sad that I only had to choose one. I went with the chicken nachos and split it with my cousin. The plate was sky high will the black corn tortilla chips and smothered in the yumminess of nacho cheese, guacamole, black beans, shredded cheese, green onions, and sour cream. I asked for jalapenos on the side since my cousin didn't like them. The nachos were filling but I wish I tried their Panini and soup there. Next time for sure. I've eaten here several times actually in the last few years. It's always been decent, pricey, but decent. The last time I went (12/18) I ordered the salmon and walnut salad ($16). I was very disappointed. The salmon was ok, the salad greens were just out of the Costco container, and the flavor was missing: bland bites of slightly wilted soggy field greens, stale walnuts, tough pita bread on the side. Sorry cafe sole but my expectations were seriously let down. If we have to eat here, please make it good!! Also my girlfriend ordered the nachos. In the past these have been the tried and true, sure not to disappoint option here. However I was sad to see a large bowl of chips ladled with canned cheese. Warning: don't eat here unless you're desperate. My girlfriends and I came to Glen ivy for a spa day. We had not eaten breakfast that morning and dropped by the cafe at 10 to try the food. The cafe sole has a cafeteria styled setting where you pile in line to order and receive your food. I am not a picky person and I can certainly pick up my own tray, but at a spa, I would have expected something else.. perhaps a fancier, sit-down restaurant? They have a small amount of food items to choose from: salads, sandwiches, soups, omelettes and breakfast burritos. I ordered the breakfast burrito with ham and a side of fruit. We had to carry our food over to the cashier to pay and seat ourselves. We were only presented with plastic forks and knives, which was quite a disappointment. Can we have real silverware please? My breakfast burrito consisted of ham, egg, cheese wrapped by a tortilla and served with a side of spinach, hot sauce and cut fruit. The cafe has a monopoly on food at the spa. They did have a smaller food stop in property, but it is closed for renovations. We visited the spa on a mid August Sunday, so you expect it to be busy. We waited to eat until 2:00 hoping the line would die down, but it was longer. The line logistics were semi-efficient, an employee at the door let in groups as the guests inside ordered. They let people ordering salads cut in line; my friend wanted the Caesar so she entered a few minutes before me. This is where the meal turned downhill. I wanted a quesadilla, so I went to the far line. I literally waited for 25 minutes to order and receive my food. Then the order was wrong so it had to be remade. During this time, I was able to watch how they make the food. The staff serving food in front of you wears gloves, but the guy in the kitchen that was actually touching the food did not. I'm not germphobic, but this really made me want to forego my food. Alas, there are no other food options once you are in the spa. By the time I paid, my friend was finished eating. Did I mention that the chips with the entree were stale?For such a fancy establishment, they really need to step up their food game. Glen Ivy is so chill and beautiful how can it get any better? I'll tell you how, by offering delicious food at Cafe Sole. Yes it is a little pricey but the portions are good and selection is wide. The chicken nachos are killer, the thick chips made from blue corn smothered with nacho cheese topped with chicken, green salsa, black beans, tomatoes, sour cream and green onions. I have also tried the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and the chicken and pear salad, both were delicious. If you purchase a soda or iced tea you get free refills all day. There is a menu convienently located outside of the entrance, prices range from $12.00-18.00 per plate. If you don't want to pay the high prices you can bring a cooler and keep it in your car to have lunch in the picnic area out front. I've been to glen ivy numerous time but I've eaten there twice and I was pretty underwhelmed each time. Got the famous nachos, and I just think for a similar price I've had waaaay better nachos elsewhere. I also tried a panini that was meh. I also don't like that its cafeteria style and you have to figure out which section to go to, one window serves pizzas, another the sandwiches and so on. If its your first time it can get confusing, I've seen people standing in the wrong line for like 5 minutes before they realize it. The whole cafe experience kills the zen and relaxing effect of the spa. I just eat a huge breakfast before I go to the spa, and eat afterwards somewhere else. I want to say if you're by the pool they have waitresses that will bring you the food, if you want to try it thats your best bet. read more

The Glen Ivy Spa doesn't want you to bring in any outside food so you have a choice of going to Cafe Sole or to Sunflower. The Wait: You should plan your treatments or naps carefully so that you don't get hungry right at lunch time when everyone else is hungry! I went to eat at 11:30 and I still waited for 20 minutes in the line. There will probably be a cabana boy acting as a bouncer at the door, flirting with all the girls and not letting them inside so he could talk to them while the whole line groans out of hunger. He lets them in one by one so you can imagine how slowly the line moves. When I looked at the line again at about 12:30, it was twice as long as it was before. Pricing: Don't even get me started on the prices. Yes, the portions are generous, but $16 for a plate of nachos? Seriously?! Even the movie theater doesn't charge that much. The salads are all around $15 and the cheapest thing you can get is probably no less than $13. The portions are big enough to share, but if you're here alone and have to spend that much on some nachos, you're going to want to eat every last bite. And that's not a good goal for someone who's planning on spending the rest of the day in a bikini. Seating: The indoor seating is what you want. Trust me on this. There are bees hovering over all the tables outside, and although it may seem like a good idea to enjoy your lunch under the sun while taking in the soft breeze, you'll also be swatting at these unwanted guests. After soaking up some morning SoCal sun and giving yourself a red clay rubdown to baby soft skin, it is almost inevitable that you hit up this place for some lunch. For $14 a plate you get an enormous amount of high quality food and bottomless drinks. I got this absolutely scrumptious acorn squash stuffed with ratatouille and chicken sausage, and turkey chili as my side. Both were savory, wholesome and full of robust flavors. I have heard that breakfast is something to write home about and my friend is kind of unhumanly obsessed with the BBQ chicken pizza. It is well worth the gamble to try the chef's daily specials, but I am sure everything is just as tasty. The sushi is awesome, but they need more staff. When I went in there they was rushing everybody out to serve more customers.

Way overpriced and there's only one thing for vegetarians: a bland veggie wrap. They need to add more stuff to the menu or at least lower the prices. read more

Portions and price are both bigger than I'd like but the taste and setting are great!

afe Sole- we asked the difference on the cooked chicken because one looked like they were cut in cubes and the other was shredded. The response we got was "they are both chicken," which we already knew. We asked if they were cooked differently (i.e. Grilled vs roasted)- the guy started yapping- we figure to just ignore him as he could have just told us he didn't know instead of trying to make an answer. Roasted Chicken Nachos was good, avocado was advertised but when prepared it was in a form of sauce/watery guacamole. Pretty good size- good for 2. Gluten Free cookie was actually good- I am NOT a gluten free person. read more
