Best Mexican food I've had corona. Definitely recommend the asada breakfast burrito and the California burrito

We are new to the area, just moved into horsechief canyon and been wanting to try out this local Mexican spot. I called today and the owner was just incredible, so helpful and kind while I asked questions and ordered with (crying kids) in the background. I ended up ordering a chile relleno burrito & a asada California burrito for my husband! They are both so very tasty AND HUGE! I was to this restaurant 3 times... 1st visit went very well although I thought the prices were very high for the quality ($14.69 +tax) for a burrito... My 2nd visit I ordered a Pork green chili burrito with No Rice... I drove home North Corona & sat down to eat my burrito... I took a bite to find beans, "RICE" & 2 pieces of pork (No green sauce) I immediately called and talked with the owner "Husband" & He immediately admitted he forgot to tell the cook "No Rice" & would make it right on my next visit... A week later when I was down in that area again I went in. The Husband was busy hanging Cinco de Mayo banners & the wife abruptly said "Did you order online or is this for here" I started to explain the situation about the burrito & that her husband said he would correct the error on my next visit..." She took my order & charged me the order "IN FULL" as though she didn't hear or acknowledge the replacement of the incorrect burrito given to me a week previous... So I again mentioned to her that the burrito was a replacement so why was I being charged Full price??? Her husband stood up & told his wife that "the burrito was to be replaced" She immediately fired back at me "Then you should have driven back to show us"... I said to her I had immediately called & that her husband acknowledged he "Forgot" to tell the cook and she insisted that "in the future nothing will be replaced that is not brought back"... I asked her "if she also wanted to replace my gasoline & compensate my time" That didn't seem to be important to her at all as well as the order made incorrectly by them !!! The husband then said "I am Happy to replace your burrito but Honestly We have the right to refuse service"... That was their way of handling an order given to a customer incorrectly... They are the only Mexican restaurant in the area off Indian Truck Trail in The Vons Shopping off De Palma Rd & Indian Truck trail... I WILL NOT give another penny of my hard earned money & advise you to reconsider this restaurant for $$$ & lousy customer service... In general the restaurant is very slow on buisness & I have a very feeling why... I dont need to worry about refusing service... I will NEVER be back !!!! Im sure they have disrespected other customers as well... Good Luck "El Sol"... Had to leave one star to comment but, would have rather leave a thumbs down & 0 stars P S... My 2 visits to your establishment were all to go orders... NEVER ate in there or watched a Dodger baseball game... You mentioned you were a Fan & I mentioned the game was on... 2... Lived in the area a while so I'm trying to enjoy the places nearby instead of going to lake Elsinore. Visited here on a Monday around lunch time. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming. The prices are typical restaurant prices, nothing too outrageous. The food comes out LICKITY SPLIT lol. Within 5 minutes we had everything we ordered. I didn't love that it felt like a fast food vibe - my burrito came wrapped in foil. The flavors were good. We had menudo, fish taco, and a chili verde burrito. There are a few small preferences, like grilling the burrito so the tortilla isn't mushy, but otherwise this is a solid food option for us. We are hopeful it was the items ordered but impression was food too expensive for what was served, not enough food and who is still hungry after Mexican food, no lettuce tomatoes onions condiments sour cream or quac and food was cold like it had been sitting rather than freshly prepared off the grill. If you haven't tried there wings you should!the wings are perfectly fried,crispy on the outside soft on the inside I got the garlic Parmesan wings and will definitely be getting them again 5/5! Upon arriving and entering the restaurant it was very clean and organized. The person (Chris) greeted me. We had a brief chat and he introduced himself as the owner. I ordered the standard fare, a two taco plate (al pastor) and a BRC burrito (for tomorrows breakfast) Chris explained the salsa bar to me. It had the usuals: onion and cilantro, Tomato salsa (fresco), avocado, and others (2) I don't remember My order was delivered quickly and I was on the road in short order. As I left Chris thanked me. When I got home the food was well served, servings weren't skimpy. The rice, and refried beans were good. The tacos were good, I enjoyed them. One thing I noted. They weren't the "Tacos Mexico" size (2") These were fill sized (4"?) and well served as well. I have never had a worst tasting tortilla salad. The tortilla was so greasy, and it was puffed up. There was hardly any rice a few beans tons of dried out meat. It was pathetic. If you wanna make it in the restaurant business, you better taste your own food before you serve it to others. read more

I was on my way to San Diego and didn't have much time. To eat so I went and got some Mexican food from this place. I ordered a chile rellenjo burrito with extra-carne. however, I received a chili Verde burrito which has pork in it and I don't eat pork. So I called them and explained it to him that I would not have a chance to bring it back so maybe they can replace it the next day well with a long story and 4 to 5 phone calls of them harassing me later. I ended up doing a charge back on my credit card and left the food on the front door the next morning. The lady was rude called me a scammer, even though I took photos of it and offered to send them to her. It was a very bad experience very very bad customer service. I will never step foot in that place again. I normally don't leave reviews, especially bad ones but after the way I was treated, they deserve it. They deserve to be called out, she told me she went to check the cameras and then I was wrong on everything which I believe is bullshit. If not post those videos here and let's see but post the entire video from when I walk in not just clip it to make yourself look good like most companies do. Came here first time after owner changed. WOW, what a difference. The food is much better. The parm chicken wings are AWESOME. The chicken enchiladas is super tasty. The owner is very friendly and patience. I had questions about the wings and he explained which flavor is spicy and which isn't. read more

We ordered on a Saturday afternoon wanting to try the wings and also got California burrito and a carnitas torta. We ordered by phone and they were very helpful with all the wing flavors. We got the Cajun bbq and mild they were all very good. The food was done very quick and pickup was very quick even though they were a little busy. They shouldn't be asking for a tip at checkout. The tablet only gives you options to pay. If you don't want to leave a tip. You have to go through other options. Food: Gross! I spent $60 including tip for the Asada Nachos and the Taquitos plate. The bed of shredded lettuce under my taquitos was brown. The rice was cold and zero flavor. The beans were less than basic. The nacho chips were soggy and just weird chips overall. The green salsa had zero flavor. Just not worth the money. We threw it all out. read more

I love the food here. I will have to admit that sometimes consistency is an issue, but it's not that big of a deal. The food has never been bad, cold or warm. It has always been hot, delicious, and always hits the spot. My favorites here are the Machaca breakfast burrito and the California burrito. Honestly, I could go for a plate of just rice and beans from here any day. And their salsa bar is bomb with three different salsas, onions, and cilantro and pickled red onions with jalapeños. First time here and tried their breakfast burrito with bacon. It was average. Nothing spectacular to note but there was a "clump" of bacon inside which made it hard to eat. It was not distributed throughout the burrito. We asked for more bacon as the clump had congealed into a difficult task to chew. They happily gave us more bacon. It seems that they deep fry the bacon making it extra hard. My son had the shrimp burrito and it fell apart. My daughter had the carne asada fries and she said it was good. Overall everything was okay, just expected something different with my burrito. Will be back to try something different. The salsa bar was good, lots of variety. Just a little on the pricey side, but being that it's a strip mall, that's to be expected. read more

We ordered carne asada fries and a street taco, pretty common fare and typical food. We didn't have high expectations since we had previously eaten here a few times. It's under new owners, so we figured we would give them time to work the kinks out. Nope... still awful. We paid over 16.00 for a tiny serving of fries. The fries and cheese and ingredients didn't even touch the top of the tiny box. How sad is that?!? Imagine a personal takeout box the size of your hand. For 16.00 we got a few soggy fries, some cheese, some dried meat, and a tiny thing of sour cream and guac. It was baddddd. We joked about how bad it was. We love to support our local small places, but it's hard to justify spending our hard earned money on absolutely awful food. The steak was so dry and had zero flavor. It tasted like beef jerky. My husband had the el pastor taco and said it was the worst taco he's ever had. Have you ever had a bad taco? Until today, I didn't even think that was possible. Unfortunately, we will be avoiding this place. If they actually served reasonable portions (note the food does NOT look even close to their advertised photos), and somewhat decent food, we would consider coming back. Just moved to the area not to long ago and have always seen this spot! We finally decided to try it ! SOOOO GOOD . First experience I met the owner, lovely female super sweet and kind. Took her recommendations and man they were GOOD. Alpastor burrito , California burrito and nachos . Salsas were good ! Coming from a Mexican family it was a nice treat to have good salsas to elevate the food ! Our second experience her husband recommended the wings ! WOW ! Good size wings great crunch and tenderness and the flavors were super good as well . We've had the bbq , garlic Parmesan ,lemon pepper are out of this world ! And the buffalo and hot bunny ! Let's just say I crave these wings on the daily ! And my kiddos ask for them often so it makes it an easy decision for dinner or lunch ! My next try is their breakfast ! On Valentine's Day we wanted to try a new restaurant in our neighborhood. We ended up at El Sol. It was our second stop. Our first stop was at Xpadas- there was one waitress who ran bar, cook, and check out. ( poor gal) bad manager if there is one. All we got was chips salsa she never came back after that- so we paid ( we had to hunt her down). Instead of going to another restaurant down the road and since it's probably super busy - we went to the fast food place next door El Sol-plus we both love Mexican food. Food was great- the place was clean and the service was spot on. We will be back, highly recommend this place for eat in or take out! The place opens at 8 am and closes at 8.30 pm. I've been coming to El Sol pretty much every day, and it is hands down the best spot in the area--especially since authentic Mexican food is hard to find around here! It's a great small local establishment that is always clean and welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious (I highly recommend the chicken enchiladas and street tacos - the salsas are outstanding not to mention the complimentary fresh chips), but the service is what really keeps me coming back. Doris and her husband Chris are wonderful people who are always happy and smiling. I love that I'm greeted by name when I walk in; it's that personal touch that makes this place special. 5 stars!
