The Cafe is located at the main entrance to the Santa Rosa Clubhouse to the left upon entry. It has a well setup and never too busy! They have complimentary coffee too! The food here is great! Had the chicken panini and couldn't think anything bad. Also had the chicken wrap that was on point. Also the smoothies are made with real fruit! The only downsize was that I thought the portions could of been bigger.

Amazing coffee cakes! Fast and easy breakfast.

SHORT ANSWER: Yes, best time off season or off hours as this place gets slammed for a reason…read more LOCATION: Great location, just off Washington in La Quinta, Easy to find parking can get busy depending on when you visit. FACILITY: Looks like a diner, is a diner, and very nice and clean. MENU: Many selections, breakfast options may be overwhelming but you'll definitely find something you want. Lunch offers very good but standard options. FOOD PREP: Always, very well done for that Louise's Pantry is, they don't fake anything here. FOOD QUALITY: Excellent for this style of food. It is a great experience. WAITSTAFF: We've been here many times, and never have we run across anyone not upbeat, polite, and happy to see a customer. OVERALL VALUE: A bit on the expensive side but considering the amount of food they bring you, it is a fair deal. TIP: Unless you are Mr. Creosote (bonus points if you know that one) for $2.00 you can get a split plate and still have a huge portion. We usually go this way respecting the seats we are taking up.

The eggs needed seasoning, and the country potatoes were dry and lacked flavor, with only a couple of small pieces of onion and red pepper mixed in. My husband had the hash browns instead and felt his breakfast was just as bland. The service was pleasant, and the atmosphere was relaxed, but we were seated next to a broom, dustpan, and the bus cart for dirty dishes, which wasn't the best first impression. The restaurant also feels a bit dated. A few simple updates, like replacing the dusty artificial flowers and keeping cleaning supplies out of sight, would make a big difference. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but with so many great breakfast options in the area, we probably wouldn't return.

Great brunch spot! We were visiting from out of town and were looking for somewhere to grab brunch…read more I checked Yelp and found Wilma & Frieda's and liked the reviews I read. The location was easy to find, ample parking too. The restaurant itself is kind of small (it's kind of more like a coffeehouse with a decent-sized table-service area), but we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table on our second visit. (Yep, we liked it enough that we went twice during our trip!) The servers and staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food was hot and delicious, and the portions were generous. And there were a good variety of savory and sweet brunch items to choose from. They also serve lunch and have a bakery counter, but I didn't look too hard at those parts of the menu because I knew I wanted the short-rib scramble as soon as I saw it on the online menu, haha! And the biscuits--oh my goodness, they are so good. They taste perfectly homemade and are pillow soft yet just the right amount of crumbly without being a dried, cracking mess. Across my 2 visits, I had the short-rib scramble (yum) and the Meany (basically eggs, sausage, potatoes, and a biscuit--yum), and my daughter had the biscuits and gravy, which she said was great. I highly recommend Wilma & Frieda's and will definitely go back on future Palm Springs trips.

It was cold out, but I still requested to sit outside. They were short a server and still graciously accommodated my request, which I truly appreciated. I ordered the beignets, a side of bacon, and orange juice. The beignets came in a set of four -- crisp on the outside and soft, pillowy yumminess on the inside. I skipped the syrup because honestly, they didn't need it. Anything extra would've taken away from how good they already were. And the bacon? Crispy to perfection. With tip, it came out to $38.02. I can't speak to the full menu since I only tried the beignets and bacon, but based on that alone, I would absolutely recommend this place. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Even the patrons were lovely...smiling and wishing me a good morning as they passed my table. It's quiet on Sunday mornings, which makes it perfect if you're dining alone with a good book. I'll definitely be back.
