The pain au chocolat was also excellent: crisp layers with just the right amount of dark chocolate. Coffee was smooth and rich, and refills on brewed coffee are free. The café has a relaxed vibe, and even though it was busy, the service was quick and friendly. Prices are a bit high, but worth it for the quality. Recommend if you're looking for a great coffee and pastry spot, convenient to city center. Outdoor seating if you're lucky enough to land a spot. Very good coffee and tasty sandwiches made this late afternoon 'lunch a perfect respite from a very rainy day. Although the passageway where the interior seating is situated seemed awkward it actually worked out well. Service, despite a crowd, was fairly quick, I would rate the coffee an A or 9/10 on the scale of strength, low acidity/smoothness. It is espresso based and made to exact order. There are serval options for milk (whole, oat, 1/2 and 1/2, etc). The major complaint would be that there is no easy place to throw away your rubbish, nor is there a place that is clearly evident to bust your dishes, which is much needed given that this is a super busy place.. The staff is too busy to bus tables regularly, which backs up the availability of seating . This is the major reason for a one star deduction.. Another amazing place to partake in fika in Stockholm. Had an amazing flat white here, probably one of the best while I was in Sweden. The day I was there, they were brewing Sey Coffee (shout out Brooklyn!). Pastries were good - but not going to lie, every single cardamom bun I had during my visit to Sweden was absolutely delicious. Cafe Pascal is located in beautiful Odenplan. The view from the restaurant is almost picturesque. The food is also very aesthetically pleasing- the taste however, was not great. I got the salmon salad, and was in all disappointed. The veggies had the consistency of rubber. You could tell that it was not very fresh. The salmon was the same way. You could tell it had been refrigerated for a long time, with the color of the salmon straying away from its tint of pink. The lentils with the salad sound nice, but actually taste otherwise. It did not mesh with the salad at all, and took off from the flavor (the small portion that was there) of the salmon. The service was great- the staff was very polite and helpful with translating the menu. In addition to food, we had gotten coffee as well. The coffee was standard as is what cafe pascal should be known for. In the back of my mind, I keep thinking "man, cafe pascal is just a glorified Panera bread." But it is a little more than that. While the food is ok, the coffee selection is good, the staff is wonderful, and the view wraps it all up nicely. If you are visiting Stockholm, stick to the coffee and tea. read more

I was staying nearby and decided to check this place out for breakfast. It's located somewhere by Odenplan and it's a pretty cute and trendy place. The staff were very nice and friendly, and answered all the questions I had about the menu. I am by no means a coffee connoisseur, so I can't really say what's good or bad coffee. I just add sweetener and milk/cream to coffee (forgive me all you coffee lovers). The coffee here was good enough for me! I have to say that I really loved the pastries I had here. Even compared to other cafes I visited while in Stockholm, everything I tried was so good. I tried both the cardamon and cinnamon buns as they've been mentioned in other reviews here I read. They were both fresh and had a nice mix of sweetness and spice (not like hot spice.) I don't think I've tasted cardamon in anything (that I know of) so it was pretty interesting. I kind of liked the cinnamon bun better, but I am a fan of sweets and it was sweeter. I came a couple more times and I've also tried a berry crumble they had that I really really enjoyed. It had some like meringue on top with mixed berries and a crust on the bottom, and it was just such a nice balance of sweetness and tartness. Located just up the way from Kafé Esaias it was at Café Pascal that five additional Fika were ordered on Thursday morning, everything about the experience a 180 change as the space was humming with activity while servers seemed downright joyous whether brewing Coffee or plating Pastries. Occupying a cozy corner at Norrtullsgatan 4, Odenplan Station and a sizable Park generating plenty of foot traffic even on a weekday, guests entering Café Pascal will likely be met by a small line amidst the spacious interior, items continuously coming out from the kitchen to replenish those in short supply and suggesting early is a good time arrive as one might find themselves purchasing something still warm from the oven. Not quite as traditional as many of Stockholm's more storied spaces, everything from Croissants to Avocado Toast joining items such as Kardemumma Bulle, it was based only on the fact that two types of Croissant had just been placed on racks that dining began with one of each, the sliced and filled one with Custard and Berries decent but already compromised by sogginess while the Chocolate Almond version was warm and wondrous thanks to a shattering shell, thick and gooey Filling plus excellent lamination. Moving onward to a squared-off Cinnamon Roll, the coil softening as it unraveled to reveal layers of Cinnamon and Butter until it reached a puffy center, it was on similar Dough cut from a pan that Café Pascal's Toscabulle was upgraded by plenty of Nuts and caramelized Sugar while the Kardemumma Bulle some call Stockholm's best was a little too "Dinner Roll" in terms of texture when compared to the likes of Magnus Johansson or Åsö Konditori. read more

Fika, what a beautiful concept ingrained into Swedish culture! A mandatory coffee break to slow down and appreciate daily life. With a cute interior, good coffee, and a heart-eye inducing selection of pastries, Pascal is a great place to practice fika. I had the croissant with egg salad & proscuitto because it seemed like everyone ahead of me in line was getting it - managed to grab the 2nd to last one! Though seemingly simple, this item was really flavorful & delicious. My friend had the avocado toast with a 63 degree egg. The bread was very hearty - will definitely get your insides to work with all that grain/fiber! LOL. The drip coffee here was great and the baristas didn't judge us too much for going back up for a 2nd and 3rd cup :P Lots of seating available inside, including a large communal table. I think Pascal is an all around good cafe. I wouldn't say that they have a particular specialty but the coffee, interior, atmosphere, sweets and food are all really good. You could easily have a good fika time here. I very rarely eat anything when I visit a cafe, but I've previously tried the soups at Pascal and they also have gluten free bread to make sandwiches with. It is a popular cafe though so it is crowded more or less all the time. You might have to compromise a bit and sit down at the corner of a table and the noise level inside might me a bit loud. This is sort of typical for good cafes in Stockholm. In the summer they also have outside seating along the walls of the cafe, because it is located on a calm street it could be a good option to try out. read more

I've been to Pascal very frequently over the last years, always enjoying the atmosphere and previously delicious coffee and hot chocolate. Yesterday I left a bit over 100kr for a tiny pastry and possibly the worst excuse for coffee I've experienced since a roadside stop in the sticks. I was with a wannabee hipster who raved about V60, and as it served 2 we chose that coffee option. It looked like tea and tasted (even after attempts to detect those mysterious over/under tones and aromas) like water poured over twiced-used coffee grinds. Had I been alone I'd definitely have returned and asked for something else, like tea (since it looked like that) but I "read" the embarrassment factor on the face of my table companion and let him have it all. I suspect the guy who did the high-tech coffee made a mistake (possibly on the amount of ground beans) but wasn't going to own up - better to make me look like the simpleton. Embracing what it is to "fika" in sweden, we stopped by Pascal for a drink and small breakfast. We got a ham and cheese on a croissant a latte and a hot chocolate (of course). I really liked the interior of this spot. I felt like I was a hip LA coffee shop; even the staff felt like they could be transported to LA and fit right in with the crowd. The menu was rather small, and something we noticed in Sweden was that they don't offer lots of flavored drinks (vanilla latte, hazelnut, etc). Despite this, our drinks were yummy and the sandwich was great too! The croissant was a little simple but I can appreciate the freshness of the ingredients. My beverage, the hot chocolate, was the 2nd best hot chocolate I had in my journey. On a side street close to Odenplan this great cafe has opened. It is a nice big space with plenty of seats inside and also a few tables outside. Only open for around 5 weeks but already hugely popular and I can understand why. First things first - they do great coffee! The selection is of small micro roasters is excellent - they always have different varieties from Love Coffee from Lund and DaMatteo from Gothenburg and a few other small guest roasters (when i was there 360 from UK, Johan&Nyström and DropCoffee both from Stockholm). Coffee is either made on the espresso machine (a La Marzocco) or the brew station. The staff are knowledgeable and happy to chat about the coffee and make a great cup. The only thing to consider is that I saw some of the bags being left open and coffee does not get better from exposure to air. There is a nice counter with very delicious looking pastries and sandwiches. I did not try any of the pastries but the sandwiches were great. They also offer some hot dishes (soups, steak sandwiches, toasties and pancakes) as well as salads. It is apparent that the owners (three siblings) have a sense of quality when it comes to everything so the juices and other beverages were great as well. Open 7 days a week so this is a place I will start to frequent. To make things better the service was friendly and fast (despite the place being packed)! read more

I'm not sure if they got this good rating just out of luck or their lunch guests cause their breakfast is nothing more than a very average breakfast anyone could get in their neighborhood. The menu lacks fantasy big time. It's very limited & nothing remarkable. In fact we had a hard time finding something appealing but since we were hungry and it was raining cats & dogs outside, we decided to order anyway. The chia pudding was ok but their mushroom sandwich was so greasy that gave me stomachache right on spot. It was so much cheese in it that has taken over any other taste or flavor. I have been to Stockholm A LOT - I have visited Pascal A LOT - yet I still haven't sumbitted a review of this place. This is truly a special place and one of my absolute favourites in the Swedish capital. The space is beautifully designed. A beautiful space often reflects the ambitions in the kitchen. This isn't gourmet in its purest form. Instead think salads, cakes, sandwiches and coffee - lots of coffee. This is a coffee place first and foremost, so they do take their coffee beans serious here. I have had multiple dishes here too. Their kanelbulle is good. A bit compact, not that sweet and greasy - yet still good. I have to mention their salads which, I think, is the star of the menu. Caesar salad is pretty good, but try the one with smoked salmon. It is absolutely fantastic. Creamy, crunchy, fresh - SO good. Only downside? There are often a good crowd of people, but nothing painful. It creates the atmosphere of Café Pascal. A very special atmosphere. read more

I got to Pascal at about 7:30 am and it was already bustling. There were people working on laptops as well as people meeting with friends and business partners. I ordered the croissant with prosciutto, egg, and chives as well as the green smoothie. It was around $10 USD which is reasonable by Stockholm's standards. The croissant was simple yet tasty but it didn't "wow" me. It did a surprisingly good job filling me up. The cold pressed juice I believe is made in-house. I got the green juice which has some vegetables, pineapple, and apple... I think. It was small and a little sweet for my taste when I'm getting green juice but I was still satisfied. I was pleased that the cafe had free wifi and was in such a central location. The cafe itself is cozy and friendly. The Avocado on bye bread sprinkled with sea salt and sesame seeds - genius. The Rueben sandwich - the first authentic Rueben I've had outside the states that made me happy and friends - delicious - perfect! The lattes - brilliant coffee - poured with love. We even tried their hand brew - selected a fruity bean - a bit weak for my taste but man - the process of making authentic hand brew coffee - these guys are not messing around - their pros and the chemical lab experience of that coffee proves that point.
