A hidden gem near bayside! We wanted some brunch and happened to come across this place which is currently hidden by construction. They have a multitude of brunch/breakfast options to choose from. I got the standard American breakfast and was pleasantly surprised with how quick it came out and the freshness of the food. The lady at the front is very kind and makes sure you enjoy your time there. Inside is decorated with florals and neon lights with cute sayings. I recommend everyone come try out this place!

My wife and I took a trip down to Miami to renew her German passport. The appointment was on a weekday in the morning so we travelled down the night before. In the morning before the appointment this place was literally around the corner from where we were staying. It's a quaint little place with probably about 10 tables. Scaffolding from the construction obscures it a bit. The woman working the front counter was the only person working the front of house. You order at the counter, take a number to your table and she brings it out. She was quite busy. We got there when it opened and more people came in shortly afterwards. But she was keeping up just fine. My wife got the Papillon Omelette Sandwich. She was expecting it to be smaller than what she received, and so in reality it was probably as large as one from a sub shop, so a pretty good deal. She liked it and couldn't quite finish it, so ended up picking out some ingredients at the end. I got the Huevos Rotos, and they were pretty good. Served on a sizzling plate. The aioli had a good flavor to it. My only nitpick would be that the potatoes, while good, were a bit too salty for me...and the eggs probably could have used some of that salt instead. Oh, and they have fresh squeezed OJ for about $5 for a large. I always enjoy those rare occasions when a place is serving that, so we both got one. I do recommend the place. It tastes home made. But the pastries looked like they may be store-bought, so we skipped those.

I came during Valentine's week so there are specials and decors specially for that. The French toast was alright, kinda ate dry that I had to wonder if it even had been dunked in the custard. For the price point, it's a little high for the return so that's one thing to keep in mind. The space isn't that large but the outdoor seating area is an option. The service is great and very helpful. It's a bit of a letdown though because it's more pomp than taste, the foods look great and inviting but while the fruits were fresh, overall the taste didn't match the looks and even the drinks were more aesthetics than actual flavor.

We looked for a spot to have breakfast before a cruise and stumbled upon this place. In typical Miami fashion, parking is horrible. So we paid $10 in the lot and walked a block to it. It's small inside, very cute, but small...like 3-4 tables inside. Initially we sat at the first table we could find, as no one told us anything. We then noticed people lining up to order. Someone finally came from behind the counter and handed us a menu as we lined up. The menu is plentiful, but not descriptive. So thanks yelpers for your pictures! We tried the breakfast burrito and super breakfast wrap. We did not expect rice and beans in the burrito. We also didn't expect potato sticks in the wrap. But as I stated, we could only go by the pictures and welp, that wasn't steak! All in all our wraps were pretty good. Service was meh. Prices were decent. And it got the job done.

Been here many times first review. Food is always SO GOOD! Service is Great!! Latte with Carmel is a little much for a coffee cup. NEED BUTTER for you bread you put on the plate. STILL I Highly recommend!!

This place was absolutely amazing! I celebrated my 35th birthday with a party of 9, including 4 little ones under 10, and it was a blast. The food was incredible, especially the eggs Benedict , and the atmosphere was super intimate. The service staff was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We had such a great first experience that we came back multiple times during our vacation.

Before my meal arrived I was planning on giving them a maximum of 4 stars, but the food was delicious and so the wait no longer mattered. If you are like me, you can taste the difference between fresh and frozen or processed food. The fresh OJ reminded me of what I loved most about Florida. Those fresh oranges right off a tree must have come from a tree nearby. The vibe was nice with a good Latin flavor.

Just posting this a cautionary post... don't order the Italian toast online, you're not going to get what you're expecting. It wasn't bad, just not what I wanted. The place was nice and it was good but not what was advertised.

Gross!!! Everything about this place was disgusting. It started with a weak cold cup of coffee. 1 person serving food AND clearing dirty dishes at the same time. Women's restroom closed. I had to ask for butter & jam for the bread. I ordered my eggs over medium. Eggs were like rubber & hard, bacon cold & a few measly potatoes. In my opinion they blew it on the stuffed banana French toast. They added allot of candied nuts to it. Way to sweet & the heavy sugar coating was grainy.

Skipped the crap restaurant at the Holiday Inn and came to this great cafe under the construction scaffolding. Best choice of our trip thusfar! Great food, great coffee, had regular, latte and cappucino. Very nice employees, cant speak highly enough of this little gem.

CP is on the side street of my socio de negocios condo complex, Vizcayne in DT Miami. They offer bfast & lunch and are open until 5 pm. They do not offer lox & bagel, so I opted for the smoked salmon on baguette. The baguette was fresh, and nice and chewy. In addition, there was a fair amt of smoked salmon. However, half was cut at an angle, the other half was cut straight. I'm not sure if this was on purpose, but it looked odd. Regarding the ambiance, they have indoor & outdoor seating. You order & pay, and your food is brought to you. The staff is friendly, and the food came out quickly. All in all, a very good experience other than the common issue w/ dining out in MIA: The prices. The sandwich and a cafecito w/ tip was more than $20. I thought $15 would have been a fair price for what I received.

Cute little cafe that was open in the area on New Year's day. Plenty of lunch options on the menu. Food was delicious but expensive considering the portion size and you don't get a side or a drink. Had the #15 chicken sandwich. It tasted excellent, but $10.49 and not large. Cool pictures and vibe inside. Plenty of seating when not crowded, but I imagine it hard to get seating when it is crowded. There is some outdoor seating with view of Bayside marketplace. read more

We ordered an avocado toast and black beans egg+cheese. Mimosa and black coffee. Mimosa was great! But the rest were disappointing. Ambiance: small cafe. Dirty and not maintained. Flies were in the restaurant, and oily tables. Service: slow and arrogant front facing staff. 2 stars were given just because of the mimosa. That's all. Buy and go. read more

A gem cafe across from Bayside. Generous portion, well presented and delicious. Unusually large menu for such a small cafe. Nice outside eating great for people watching or inside seating. One of the best places for lunch , brunch or breakfast. Amazingly reasonable prices. Not a fast food joint, everything cooked to order , worth the wait. Five stars! read more

We ate at this casual cafe prior to our ship embarkation at port of Miami. Though I agree the service was slow, it seemed to be a family run restaurant and I can't even express how delicious it was. The food here is crazy for what ur paying. Only place I can buy really good breakfast for two plus mimosa for 40 bucks in MIAMI of all places. Service is super nice and one staff even remembered me from last time. The place itself is small but that's fine. Good food, good service, good vibes. read more

Imagine I order online and their service hours on Yelp are specifically listed as you see below. I get there at 3:30, see my order sitting on the counter made but no one is there and the restaurant is closed! I call my bank to dispute the charge as I didn't receive the goods but payed for them. And they stayed with the money. How is that fair to a customer. I also called prior to my order being made and told the owner I would be there to get it. I ordered on a Tuesday, hours clearly say 5 pm. If you were going to close earlier, call. But stop putting false hours and stealing peoples money! A disappointment, because I have eaten here before, especially when I attended school not so far. And I loved the food. But after this I shall not spend nor waste my money with a business that are thieves. read more

Great location! I needed something quick before going to bayside. The staff was friendly and quick. Outdoor seating is available, there is not much space inside. The avocado toast was VERY GOOD!!! The croissant were also good and actually filling. I also had fresh pressed orange juice, AMAZING! I just wish it was cold. read more

On 11/6/23 I visited the cafe with my sons. I ordered chicken Cesar salad and my sons ordered Egg Benedict with salmon. I was told that there was going to be a 45 min wait, while we waited empanadas were ordered as we had to wait. The Eggs Benedict with Salmon arrived 45 minutes later with balsamic vinegar drizzled over it and the hollandaise sauce had a powdery consistency and it was pointed out that the egg were fried and not poached and to top it off came out cold . After I left the cafe my kids were very disappointed in the food. I called and spoke with the gentleman who served us the food where I explained my experience of what had happened , he said "why didn't you tell me it was cold why you were here" and I said " I didn't want to have to wait another 45minutes, if I am waiting 45 minutes my food should come out hot". I had asked for a refund or a discount off my bill and he said he needed to contact the owner. He was on the phone the owner and I was told the owner was going to do something about this to compensate us , but to this day nothing has happened. We came to this restaurant for its reviews. Ridiculous food was cold, could've gotten sick from this !!!! read more

Doesn't look like much when you walk past but the food is DELICIOUS. Ordered the Avocado toast with Bacon and Eggs. Best. Ever Husband ordered the Steak & Eggs. He's picky on his steak and he said it was delicious and cooked perfectly. Only knock. Coffee. Not a whole lot of options. I had a horrible experience. Visited this restaurant and at first it seemed as though everything would be amazing. Boy was I wrong. It's self seating, which is not a problem, but we were never checked up on or given any information about how things work. Eventually I went up and asked and placed my order. Literally an hour later we witnessed people who came after us getting their food and everything before us. Only after speaking up and making a complaint that the manager Jose came and tried to accommodate us. The food was cold and our drinks got warm during the wait. What I learned is that they have our order to another group. They didn't even notify us. I'll chalk it up to them not having their best day, but my experience was bad. I will not be eating there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone read more

I've had the pleasure of eating breakfast at this café the past two mornings before heading to conference sessions. The employees are attentive to customers' needs and wants, and the food is great. On my two visits, I had a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant and huevos rotos. Both selections were well prepared, delicious, and filling. My drink selection was café con leche. I learned that café con leche Cuban style means sugar is added. I personally prefer it without sugar, but I did get what I asked for. I will miss this café next week when I back home. read more

Cafe papillon... French name with... no French options? Not sure I got the concept here. It is a breakfast place (served all day), with choices of omelettes and breakfast burrito/wraps. They also over a variety of French toast. The place is medium size with both inside and outside tables. The staff was ok : the person taking our orders was nice but the waitress was totally rude. The food we got, the papillon omette and a veggie omelette, were good and no greasy. The coffee was also good. read more

I was visiting bayside, and on my way back to the hotel I came across this corner cafe. It seem a bit small, but I decided to give it a try. All I wanted was something cold, so asked one of the girls that worked there and she offer me a frappe, but I am allergic to coffee so she suggested a chocolate shake. I have to be honest it was a really hot day so this shake came in handy. It was really good! read more

Food is great. Rarely ever get good service , staff can be very condescending and tend to be forgetful. Writing this review to express my discernment to the workers as they seem to come up with their own set of rules every time i come here. Been here several times , they usually close at 3 but sometimes they just choose to close at 2:30 because like i said they make their own rules. One specific instance my friend got an iced coffee, mind you they just poured hot coffee over ice and 90% of it melted, and when she asked for more ice, the server said you're supposed to drink it not let the ice melt after making the coffee wrong in the first place. I find it astonishing that I still go to this place as it takes 30 minutes for them to cook French toast , even on a slow day. Like i said food is great , but they should look into hiring a new staff because all of the ones here came from Attitude Town just a block away from Entitlement City. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Alan B.

With over 20 years of experience as owner and operator of a chain of snack and desert shops in south Florida, I am a firm believer in Quality of Food, Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction. Although an accomplished chef, my personal focus is on delivering a great experience for the customer in our café. Firstly, we found not one, but two great chefs to prepare our delicious menu of the best in breakfasts, soups, salads, sandwiches, tapas and more. What can you expect when visiting Café Papillon? A genuine welcoming smile, friendly assistance in ordering a tasty meal, desert, specialty coffee, beer wine and more. We listen to our customers. Want or need something special? We will do our best to accommodate you. Planning a special party or luncheon? Our custom made platters are sure to please. And then there is our friendly counter staff. This Cafe happens to be on the bottom floor of my building. Very convenient and affordable. I like the fact that they serve breakfast all day long.
