I did try the Mediterranean fries, even tho they look bomb, I didn't really like them they have a weird lemon flavor to them. That's beside the point everything else I've tried is amazing. Been coming here for a few years now, very helpful staff and great food. Anytime I'm not in the area and crave Mediterranean, I find myself comparing them to Cafe Moderno and being disappointed. I haven't had anything I don't like here, but I always find myself getting the Gyro plate because their lamb is so well seasoned. This restaurant was formerly known as Theo's. The owner renovated the place and changed its name. You can look up Theo's for more reviews. Anyhow, my wife and I ordered the combination kebab plate. The meat was flavorful and moist. All the side dishes that came with the plate were excellent. The waitress was attentive and the owner was friendly. This local joint is a gem. Spur of the moment stop on a Thursday around 1230...Ordered chicken souvalki plate with rice pilaf and hummus. My husband ordered steak/chicken kabob, rice pilaf and roasted potatoes. SO DAMN DELICIOUS. Portions were perfect, some might have left overs if you have a small appetite. Flavorful marinated chicken and steak. I came here twice before i first tried their chicken kabob plate. The taste is not as great. Kinda bland for a Mediterranean. Then second time i had the chicken wrap on a pita bread. It tasted good that's why i came back. But then this time it's not in a pita bread & it was cold!!! Aren't they supposed to be warm? The taste is bland. Doesn't taste anything Mediterranean.. Their grilled chicken wrap and the sauce they drizzle it with is probably the most delicious wrap I've ever tasted. We were in the mood for something different and fresh, so we started trolling Yelp. We wanted something not chain driven, where you pay for food instead of all the overhead of a large chain. Well, we found it! Cafe Moderno is one of our new favorite spots. The host/cashier/server is super friendly and very helpful. We asked what she recommended and she talked to us about the entire menu, not just 1 thing on the menu without rushing through it; very knowledgeable. Of course, I over ordered. The portions are huge! We are a family of four including a 14 y.o and a 7 y.o. I ordered a 3 piece chicken kabob combo, a Moderno Greek salad, a steak gyro combo, and chicken gyro combo, a chicken nuggets w/ fries, and 3 drinks; I had water. Honestly, the 3 piece chicken Kabob combo and the Medrano salad would have been enough for all of us! Everything was fresh and very, very tasteful. The lemon fries are so addicting. The grilled veggies with the kabobs were so delicious! I can't say enough about the food. Best of all, diner was under $60. I don't think you can find food this fresh tasting and flavorful in any of the surrounding chain restaurants. We will definitely be back. read more
