I'm currently visiting from the states and Cafe Moda was near my airbnb and very high rated. I now understand the 4 star rating. My decaf americano had great flavor and temperature and my Irish breakfast was very good. It's a big plate with lots of food. Absolutely worth and will be returning any and every time I'm in Dublin. The atmosphere is casual but not too loud. The staff is kind and works quickly to get your order to your table. Great job, Cafe Moda. This is exactly the experience I look for in a breakfast joint.

the only reason this place is getting 3 rather than 4 stars is that the waitress NEVER smiles. Great breakfast, funky place to hang out up the stairs at the back. usually has a student clientel (which explains being given one napkin and a sachet of ketchup).

Enjoyed a delicious bowl of tomato soup, some lovely brown bread with seeds, and a cappuccino at cafe moda. Tasty all around. There are plenty of tables for enjoying food and some lounging chairs and coffee tables if you're just having drinks. However, the cafe lacked in atmosphere. It didn't quite hit the mark on cozy and had the wrong type of background music. It also matched the general outdated feel of the location. I'd go back for the soup or a takeaway, bit not necessarily for the vibe.

What a great place. The only real California-type coffee house in Dublin.

Great prices. And filling. Mega breakfast included a coffee so the price was just right to fuel me for the day.

With just a few small tables and chairs outside, the standing room only interior is a picture of economy. These were my first impressions as customers steadily streamed inside to place orders and then leave to wait for their sandwich or sit a bit. My eyes locked into the pastrami melt sandwich on the menu and I waited my turn, albeit a bit nervously, to place my order with one of the three gents who were slinging the sandwiches. All the ingredients in the deli case looked fresh, from the lettuce, meats, cheese, etc, to the types of bead on top of the case, like the focaccia. Each sandwich is made fresh, and once assembled, is pressed to warm the roll and melt the cheese. My pastrami melt arrived loaded with the meat, and all the ingredients enhanced by the deli mustard made for a great tasting sandwich. It's probably the best pastrami sandwich I've tasted in a long while. Every employee was patient and helpful, and I found this to be quite an effort since customers kept placing orders without much of a break. The Pig & Heifer is definitely worth a repeat visit.

Outside was as mess, there were no chairs at some tables and other had to many with dirty dishes on them. So we decided to go in. There was no hostess nor any wait staff so we stood there like stooges. Finally ,two of the wait staff walked right by and just ignored us so we decided to take a seat. Now they want to come talk to us! I asked if this seat was ok and got the reply "I guess it will have to be as you already sat down". Should have got up then but the wife was tired so decided to stay. It was crazy warm in there with little air flow. I liked the atmosphere and ambience. Guess they wanted to make a point as we sat there for 15 mins without water or anybody coming by. Had to flag down what appeared to be a bus boy to get water. Finally had order taken by male bus boy who seemed he wanted to be anywhere else and said "I am waiting". We ordered two "specials" and the bœuf bourguignon. Two separate couples came in and were served before we received our food. So hard to eat as it was 80-85 degrees in there. The beef was good and would recommend. The two specials were chicken and very very dry. To wrap it up we had to hunt down the wait staff to get the ticket as they actively avoided eye contact. Fairly expensive for just ok food and horrible service. Customer service is not hard. A "Welcome" or "Glad you came in" goes a long way.
