Cafe on the left passed the stairs, museum straight ahead

We didn't pay to get in the museum but going to the cafe, gift store, and seeing the village from the outside was enough. The cafe was a great rest stop for food and drinks. They had all the desserts known to Vienna. We already had the sacher torte so we opted for the Apple strudel which tastes like the Apple strudel in the States but with thick pastry layers. Also got the kaiserschmarrn which can be describe as bits of pancakes and sure taste like it too. For coffee, I got the affogato. They had many yummy options with liquor and ice cream. Be careful walking as you admire his art because the floors and walls are uneven which is what he's known for. Very colorful and amusing!

Great stop to relax mid museum trip. The cafe is a little pricy though fair warning. The view of the ceiling from the cafe makes it all worth it and the food and drinks are quality. This place tends to be busy but staff was very quick. They have a beautiful selection of pastries that I believe occasionally changes, we had a slice of passionfruit chocolate cake, it was amazing with our cappuccinos

What a ceiling to eat pastries under!

An expensive average tasting coffee under the spectacular ceiling is nice it do but not a must. Maybe save your euros

This place was packed…read morewhen we arrived, as expected since it is one of the most well-known schnitzel spots in Vienna. I was worried this place was over-hyped and more of a place you have to "check off the list" than somewhere you want to eat because of the food. If you have any doubts like I did, forget about them because this was actually the best schnitzel we had on our trip! Their potato salad and tomato salads, also amazing! I love that they had option for their schnitzel - the chicken and original were our favorites! Definitely check this spot out when in Vienna - you won't be disappointed!

I had a reservation at 11:30am and there was already an insane line just to get in. Then once they opened the doors other groups of people completely ignore the line outside and just start rushing in. They're in absolutely no rush to seat you so don't have any hope that they'll let you in early. Once you're seated the service is pretty fast. The schnitzel is quite large and good for sharing. I had the original schnitzel with pork. It was thin and crispy but under seasoned in my opinion. The potato salad was the star for me I could have had one all to myself. It was creamy, a little sweet, and tangy. I also tried the soup with clear beef broth and sliced pancakes. Nothing memorable but a nice clean soup if you're in the mood.

A beer garden, but make it a gastropub with an excellent wine list. You speak to me, Glacis Beisl…read more The garden area was extensive and prettily designed. We had a dinner reservation on an early September Sunday and were able to eat outside in the expansive garden area, which was prettily designed with lots of lighting and greenery. Our server was really nice, though it took a little while for her to come by initially. The pumpkin soup was a showstopper: creamy, nutty, and mildly sweet. I would order this again and again. The pierogis were also very good, doughy and yet airy, with a pillowy potato filling and served with caramelized onions and sour cream. The wine list, which even included a slew of natural and pet nat options, is the best I've seen in Austria so far. I love pet nats but haven't seen many Austrian offerings of the style, either in the country or abroad. Here, I tried a delicious Gelber Muskateller pet nat and also had a Zweigelt.

We went for a Sunday lunch in the courtyard during September…read more A gorgeous courtyard (although the wasps were a bit much). They had both pork and veal schnitzel options. We chose the pork - delicious. Perfect potato salad, not too sweet. Goulash was yummy but a bit much in the main size. I should have ordered the small. The pork schnitzel was the standout - dlavorful, thin, golden. The goulash lacked some of the flavour and complexity of other goulashes I've had in the past in Austria and Hungary. Service was friendly. I tried my German but all the waiters spoke great English, and the menu had English translations at the back. Booking is recommended, you can book easily from their website. Pork Schnitzel + goulash + mixed salad + 1 beer + 1 Bellini was €50ish. Recommend the courtyard in good weather!
